Chapter 343 Hagrid's Secret
Chapter 343 Hagrid's Secret
The dusty crossbow, the weed-covered pumpkin patch, the surprisingly clean rubber shoes, the tightly drawn curtains, and the pitiful Fang who was staying outside again undoubtedly proved what Harry and the others had guessed - Hagrid had raised some magical creature that was not allowed again!
"Poor, poor thing." Ron held down Yaya's head with one hand to prevent it from being licked by saliva, and with the other hand he touched Yaya's chin lovingly.
Yaya hummed happily and wagged his tail rapidly.
"Who is it! - Be careful or your ears will be bitten off." Hagrid's rough voice came from the hut. He opened the door slightly and looked out cautiously.
"You guys again?" Hagrid breathed a sigh of relief.
"What do you mean it's us again?" Ron said as he was about to push open the door.
However, Hagrid stood in front of the door.
"Hey! What are you hiding from us?" Ron raised his head in dissatisfaction.
Harry and Draco beside them also looked through the crack in the door curiously.
Didn't Hagrid have any magical creatures?
The last time they were kept on tight guard like this was in connection with the Philosopher's Stone.
Could it be that the secret in this room is some task assigned by Dumbledore?
Harry and Draco couldn't help but reveal a look of determination on their faces.
"I don't have any secrets to hide from you little brats - well - I just think the little guys inside, Harry and Draco can see it, but you - Ron, I think it's better for you to stay outside the house." Hagrid waved his hand hesitantly, and walked to the side to make way.
"I don't believe it! --Hey!"
boom!
Ron closed the door abruptly.
He suddenly lost all color and his skin became like Draco's.
He turned his head woodenly, pointed into the house with his right hand, and muttered something inaudibly.
"What is it?"
Draco's face suddenly showed curiosity.
Draco's previous curiosity was just following the crowd. He didn't really want to know Hagrid's secret.
It was normal in Slytherin to have secrets that you didn't want others to know.
As a Slytherin, one should be reserved and understand the other person, or simply try to find out the secret and control the other person.
The latter is generally used for opponents and enemies.
The former is undoubtedly the way to treat friends.
Hagrid was Draco's friend.
However, Ron's confusion made Draco curious.
Combined with what Hagrid said - there must be something in there that Hagrid is sure Ron will be afraid of, but that he and Harry don't care about.
"Spider?" Draco said suddenly.
Ron nodded with lingering fear, and then shook his head the next second.
"Acromantula?" Harry said next.
"Y-yes," said Ron, taking a few steps back.
However, from his intermittent tone, as well as his actions of looking through the crack in the door from time to time and being ready to escape at any time, it was clear that Ron had not yet gotten over the trauma of what had just happened.
"Yes, I've been accompanying Alaspade lately." Hagrid showed a loving expression on his face, and when he mentioned that strange name, it was as if he was reading the name of his son after he was single at the age of 80. "Not Aragog? - Ah, I see, you are going to follow what Harry said before and raise another Acromantula by hand - and let it become the leader."
"To prevent the spider swarm from getting out of control?" Draco suddenly realized.
"Oh, that's right!" Harry looked confused. His recent Quidditch training had made him forget all this, even though this idea was his.
"I told you those spiders are unreliable!"
"Hagrid, you must have noticed something bad by doing this." Ron's face regained some color.
"Good Lord!" Hagrid suddenly sobbed. "After the last time, Lupin asked me to test it - to let Aragog go away for a while. Can you believe it, Harry? - The second after Aragog disappeared, the other spiders would not let me near their webs! Maybe they didn't eat me only because Aragog ordered them to! Can you believe it, Harry?"
"I do, don't you, Harry?" Ron blurted out.
Harry's heart nearly jumped to his throat. He quickly glanced at Hagrid - fortunately, Hagrid didn't seem to notice Ron's rude words.
"I don't believe it, how could they eat you - Hagrid."
"They just haven't been raised by you. Look, like Aragog, how obedient he is." Harry forced the words out of his mouth expressionlessly.
"Great, you're the only one who said that." Hagrid wiped his tears with emotion, "They were probably killed by Mosag--" ("Who is Mosag?" Draco suddenly asked) "It, the wife I found for Aragog."
"It must have corrupted them, making them learn some bad habits of wild Acromantulas." Hagrid pulled his beard angrily.
"Oh, I almost forgot - come in, I've kept you at the door for too long!" Hagrid pushed open the door and pointed to a tusk-sized spider in the corner. "It's Alaspade, Aragog's new son!"
This place is like a haunted house!
Dense spider webs were everywhere in the originally cozy little house - even the big bed in the corner, which was covered with bedding made of scraps of cloth, was covered with spider webs.
There was no light in the room, the fire in the fireplace that had been burning all year round had disappeared, and even the boiling water that had occasionally been burning in the brazier had disappeared.
"As you all know, the Acromantula likes dark environments. When Aragog was a child, I kept him in a storage room in the dungeon."
"But now, since my conditions have improved, I can't treat this little guy too badly." Hagrid stroked the giant spider with eight eyes and black and gray hair lovingly.
"Look, some of these spider webs I made out of unicorn tail hair," Hagrid pointed proudly to a spider web on his bed.
"Are you sure you want to sleep like this at night?" Ron pointed at the bed in the corner with a trembling finger.
"What's wrong with that? This way I can always be with Alaspade!" Hagrid's expression was as if he heard Ron questioning him why people need to drink water.
"Unicorn tail hair?"
"Any one you have here is worth 10 Galleons!"
"And, if I'm not mistaken, this is dragon meat!" Draco widened his eyes and pointed to a bucket of raw meat in the corner - it was green and each piece was slightly larger than an ordinary car tire.
"Oh, those unicorn hairs are all over the branches in the forest." Hagrid waved his hand nonchalantly.
"This is dragon meat."
"They are good things. They can make Alaspade grow stronger! You know, it wants to become the king of the eight-eyed giant spiders." Hagrid touched the spider lovingly again.
Ron couldn't help but shudder.
There is another chapter that will be posted later.
