The Queen of Scrolls never admits defeat

Chapter 25 On the Way to School

Chapter 25 On the Way to School
At six o'clock in the morning, the bells of the academy castle rang on time, waking Moran up. He was still quite reluctant to leave, as last night's dream had been so wonderful.

The first thing she did after getting up was to pick up the breadfruit next to her bed and take a couple of bites; the sourness made her shudder.

This breadfruit is absolutely amazing for getting you up; one bite and you're instantly awake.

After getting up and changing into her school uniform, she put the black satin headband hanging from the headboard on her head, opting for a neat and easy hairstyle, letting it do as it pleased.

By the time she went downstairs to wash up, her hair was already tied up.

The beginner's guide doesn't mention what to bring.

You can get school supplies like pens, ink, and paper from the warehouse in the academy castle.

So after Moran got ready, she only went to the storage room to pick out the largest breadfruit and left without taking anything else.

One breadfruit is enough to solve my food and water problems for the whole day.

Vasita and Sylph packed bread, fruit cakes, and a water bottle and headed out.

“I went to the breadfruit grove last night and filled my stomach with food, plus a bag of fruit cakes for backup. I won’t be lacking energy all day!” Vasita said.

Sylph only brought a small bag of fruit cakes, no bigger than the palm of her hand: "This is enough for my lunch. I'll make more for dinner when I get back."

The three of them left home around the same time.

Moran was alright, but the other little witches, like her, each had a breadfruit.

Traveling light and with almost nothing in sight, Vasita and Sylph attracted the little witch's attention.

"Did you forget to bring lunch? Even though you have two hours at noon, it's not enough time to travel back and forth between the academy castle and the dormitory, plus you have to cook lunch!"

Vasita and Sylph had already asked Moran and knew that she had no intention of hiding the bread and fruit cakes.

So whenever the little witch asked, Vasita would proudly pull a small oil paper packet from her purse: "I brought it!"

Then, when the little witch asked, "Is this enough to fill you up?", Sylph revealed the answer: "This is bread and fruit cake made by Moran! It's very filling!"

"Aren't breadfruits supposed to be cooked?"

"Are things made from breadfruit edible? Won't they be very sour?"

The news that Lilith had only brought fruit cakes also spread among the second-grade witches.

Finally, the little witches were all very curious about the taste of the bread and fruit cake.

Moran needed to restore his magic and didn't bring any fruit cakes. To prove that the taste of bread fruit cakes was worlds apart from bread fruit, Vasita and Sylph shared some with everyone to try.

Although each little witch was given only a tiny bit, no bigger than a fingernail, their food rations were inevitably reduced.

Luckily, the little witches, who were only in first or second grade, had to walk to school and met each other. There were less than sixty of them in total, otherwise the bread and fruit cakes they brought wouldn't have been enough to share.

After tasting it, who would want to carry a heavy and unpalatable breadfruit up the mountain to the castle for class!

Moran had anticipated this outcome and, without holding back, stated directly:

"The breadfruit cake only retains the strong feeling of fullness from the breadfruit, but it no longer has the effect of restoring magic."

If you're still interested, I'll explain the production steps.

It's not difficult!

"Interested! Interested!"

The little witches all expressed their opinions.

The journey to school thus turned into Moran's bread and cake classroom.

After she finished speaking, the little witches with cooking experience even had some inspiration based on the recipe for fruit cake. For example, Ais was already thinking about whether she could add minced meat to breadfruit.

Suddenly, the little witches' enthusiasm for cooking breadfruit soared to unprecedented heights.

Before I knew it, I had arrived at the entrance of the academy castle.

Sylph wiped the sweat from her brow: "It feels like we went up the mountain faster than down it today! We arrived just as we were talking."

“The clock tower bell on the way has already struck nine times.” Lilith glanced at the time: “It’s already 9:30. If you think about it, the ascent up the mountain today has actually been much slower than before.”

"Talking about food made me want to hurry back and try making bread, fruit cakes, and dried fruit. I forgot how high and difficult the mountain was to climb. Before I knew it, we were up there. That's why I think it was fast!" Ais said.

"Look! The upperclassmen are here too!" Alba looked at the distant sky.

Dozens of flying brooms took off from the dormitory area and flew towards the castle, landing soon after on the small square outside the castle.

The first and second grade witches got up early in the morning and crawled for nearly three hours to get here, while the third graders flew here in just a few minutes.

"We'll be taking flight lessons soon! I'll be able to leave for school at 9:30 just like the older girls!" Lilith voiced the sentiments of all the second-year witches.

Moran and her friends, who still have to walk for a year, are incredibly envious.

However: "Senior Lilith, where are the fourth and fifth year students? Don't they have classes in the morning?"

"The fourth and fifth graders rarely come to the Academy Castle for classes anymore, and I don't know exactly what they're doing."

Lilith looked around the square: "This year's astrology ceremony seems to have ended a bit early. It's only the fourth day, and I haven't seen any of the fourth-year students' tents yet."

"So, senior, who teaches alchemy?" Vasita asked. "Why is it alchemy class all week long? When will they teach cooking magic?"

Lilith smiled mysteriously: "You'll find out about the teachers soon enough, so don't be surprised! As for cooking magic, it'll be taught next week."

Seeing that things were getting out of hand, the other female students also slipped away: "Hurry up and get to the classroom, class is about to start!"

How could the younger students not experience the same detours and embarrassing moments they went through?

The first-grade little witches: "..."

The senior student really loves keeping things in suspense!
Moran had no choice but to open the map: "The schedule says that the introductory alchemy class is on the top floor of the West Tower. That's the closest way!"

"Let's go!" Vasita waved her little fist. "I can't wait to learn magic!"

A large group of little witches marched toward the west tower.

After walking for a while, they passed through a long corridor and encountered Ms. Amisha, who was wearing a dark blue witch's robe. The little witches greeted her in unison, "Good morning, Headmistress!"

"Good morning!" Amisha nodded slightly and reminded them with a smile, "The West Tower is a bit far, you'll need to speed things up!"

"Yes! Goodbye, Headmaster!" The little witches tensed up and quickened their pace.

Moran glanced back and saw Ms. Amisa disappear into a classroom at the end of the corridor.

That classroom was where the second-year students had their classes. She had seen Lilith's striking red hair when she passed by the door.

Without paying much attention, they quickly ran across the corridor.

After wandering around the maze-like castle, we finally reached the west side of the castle.

"There is a path on the second floor that leads directly to the West Tower."

"go!"

Halfway up the stairs, the little witches' momentum came to an abrupt halt.
