Captain Jack of Azeroth

Chapter 4 Pirates! Pirates!

Chapter 4 Pirates! Pirates!
Sam threw Jack down on the deck to avoid the flying wood. He got up and pushed Jack toward the forecastle. "Get in there!"

Jack stumbled and fell, and hid in the forecastle in panic. The sailors were fighting the pirates on the deck, and Jack was the only one in the forecastle.

He had become very familiar with the forecastle these days, and the first thing he did when he entered was to look for weapons.

Unfortunately, the sailors' weapons were taken away, and he only found a wooden stick as long as his arm. He swung it a few times and found it quite handy.

boom--

The forecastle was shattered by a cannonball, and the blast threw Jack against the wall with wood chips. When Jack woke up, he could only hear a roar in his ears and no other sound.

He shook his head and looked up to see a figure hiding in the corner of the forecastle, shivering. The figure saw Jack and immediately showed a disgusting smile, "Boy, there are only two of us left now..."

As he spoke, he moved closer to Jack and reached out to grab Jack's collar.

But the next moment, he felt a heavy blow from below.

Jack swung his stick forward, and in a trance he seemed to hear a cracking sound. He didn't care, raised his hand and hit the strong man's chin with the stick tip, and hit him on the temple with another stick.

The young man fell down immediately, and no one knew whether he was dead or alive.

Jack glanced at him expressionlessly, then staggered towards the gap created by the shell.

The deck was covered in blood. More than a dozen strong men were killed by artillery fire, and their broken bodies were scattered all over the ground. Red, green and other liquids of indistinguishable colors flowed back and forth as the ship swayed.

Jack's brain suddenly froze, as if he was back in that terrible night.

The battle on the ship continued. After Sam killed a pirate, he hid beside the ship and looked at the pirate ship on the opposite side. The pirates on the opposite side were definitely not ordinary pirates, because in addition to humans, there were trolls and a kind of giant with a bull's head and a human body.

Those big guys are all sturdy and have super strong fighting power. They can kill a fully armed sailor with one blow. They are simply monsters.

Humans and trolls are two hostile races. To be able to bring them together, there must be a huge interest driving them. And there is only one race that can afford such a huge benefit!
Sure enough, Sam soon discovered the goblins commanding the battle on the pirate ship. This race, who valued money more than anything else, was the only race that could make humans and trolls let go of their hatred.

Sam reached into his pocket, trying to pull something out.

The next moment, he suddenly lowered his head, and a battle axe passed over his head and hit the side of the ship. The side of the ship could not withstand the huge force and was directly split open by the battle axe.

Sam rolled over on the ground and took out the item in his arms, which was an enchanted dagger. He stood up and stabbed the monster that attacked him with his sword, but the monster didn't care and raised his battle axe to chop it down on the head.

Faced with the monster's retaliatory tactics, Sam could only dodge helplessly, and ended up falling into the monster's fighting rhythm.

Sam had no choice but to seek help. Looking around, he saw that the sailors were all in the battle, some dead and some wounded, and only Jack was standing stupidly in the gap of the forecastle.

"Jack, come and help me..."

Jack seemed to hear a voice coming from the horizon, as faint as a breeze, but it restarted his brain. Turning his head slightly, Jack immediately saw Sam being chased by the monster, and he immediately rushed over with red eyes.

Last time he didn't dare to save the so-called father, this time he would never let Sam die in front of him again. "Ah——"

Jack shouted to give himself courage and rushed towards the minotaur.

The Minotaur heard the sound getting closer and immediately turned to look at Jack.

Seeing the opportunity, Sam immediately swung his sword and hit the minotaur's knee, attracting the minotaur's attention again.

Jack suddenly jumped onto the minotaur's back, grabbed his mane, and thrust the short stick into the minotaur's nose ring. The minotaur reached out to grab Jack, but Jack had already jumped down, grabbed both ends of the short stick with both hands, and used his weight to pull the nose ring off.

"Ow—"

The Minotaur screamed, covered his nose with both hands, staggered and bumped around. Jack was knocked to the ground by him, but Sam took the opportunity to get close to the Minotaur and stabbed his neck with a sword.

Sam dodged the Minotaur's dying counterattack and added a few more sword strikes, killing the Minotaur completely.

After looking around and finding no other pirates coming to cause trouble, Sam approached the side of the ship with a dagger in hand and soon found the goblin captain who was directing the battle. After careful aiming, Sam threw the dagger hard, and the dagger hit the goblin, and a huge fire suddenly engulfed the goblin.

"what--"

After a scream, the goblin was burned to ashes.

Without the captain, the pirates were unstable and the command was in chaos. The first mate had no choice but to order a retreat.

The pirates on the pirate ship rushed over and cut off the grappling hook, making the two ships separate. The pirates on the cargo ship immediately panicked and broke away from the battle, trying to jump back to the pirate ship. The sailors and soldiers on the cargo ship chased them and tried to contain them.

Only a small number of pirates managed to jump back to the pirate ship. As for the rest, several pirates jumped into the sea, and the rest chose to surrender.

The soldiers were angry and wanted to kill the pirates, but were stopped by the captain.

"Kill them and let them live, what are you doing?"

The pirates lost at least thirty people in the attack on the cargo ship, including more than twenty able-bodied men, which accounted for half of the total number of able-bodied men.

Generally speaking, it is the sailors' job to take care of the ship when sailing at sea. When sailing at sea, the space for activities is limited, and eating, drinking, defecating and urinating are all done on the ship, which takes several months. If it is not cleaned regularly, it will become smelly in a few days, and then diseases will breed, and even plague will arise. Therefore, a major cleaning must be done every two or three days. If there are enough people, it will be cleaned every day.

All the nobles in Stormwind were transferring their assets, and there was a shortage of sailors. Therefore, there were less than ten sailors on the cargo ship, and it was impossible to complete the cleansing work. The ship was loaded with valuables, which needed to be avoided as much as possible, and people were needed to load and unload, so the nobles secretly kidnapped refugees on board.

With only half of the men left, the cleansing would be difficult, so the captain wanted to keep these pirates to help the men.

With the pirates, the men had a much easier time. The soldiers’ targets of oppression became the pirates, and the men who had been oppressed were treated better. They could also oppress the pirates together and vent their anger.

Because of his meritorious service in helping Sam, Jack was temporarily released from the ranks of the able-bodied soldiers and became an apprentice sailor. As for the able-bodied soldier killed by Jack, no one investigated how he died.
