Captain Jack of Azeroth

Chapter 11 Deep Water Inn

Chapter 11 Deep Water Inn
Jack had only been learning swordsmanship for less than half a year, so how could he be a match for an orc who had been fighting wild beasts since childhood? Even the elite soldiers of the Third Fleet could not defeat an ordinary orc soldier in a one-on-one fight.

Without the dwarven pistol, Jack wouldn't even have the courage to face the orcs.

In response to Fizmos's teasing, Jack gave a helpless expression. He quickly reloaded the dwarf's pistol, raised his hand and pulled the trigger, killing another orc.

The sailors also used their pistols to concentrate their fire, completely killing all the orcs that broke through the gap. Taking advantage of this gap, the dwarf warriors raised their shields to block the gap again, and the sailors stood behind the dwarf warriors and continued to shoot out with their pistols.

The orcs attacked fiercely for a while, but it was difficult for them to even get close. Soon, horns sounded outside the city, and the orcs retreated like a tide.

"Get lost! You son of a bitch..."

"You will never penetrate the dwarven defenses—"

The soldiers cursed at the orcs to vent their anger, and the attack caused heavy losses to the dwarves. After the wounded were carried away, Jack could still see more than 30 dwarves lying on the ground.

If the port was not surrounded by swamps and only accessible by a narrow path, the orcs would definitely bring siege equipment. But there is no if, the dwarves chose to build a port here because they saw its advantage of being easy to defend and difficult to attack from the ground.

The orcs paid a heavy price for this assault, losing nearly a hundred lives. Inside and outside the gap of less than two yards, the orc corpses piled up above their knees, and the dwarf musketeers could use the corpses as cover.

The dwarves collected their own bodies, while the sailors threw the orcs' bodies into the ditch at the other end of the bridge. Palatine Port was small and could not hold much supplies. In addition, there was no preparation before, so there was little supplies such as kerosene, so they did not waste it on the orcs' bodies.

There are a lot of fishmen and crocodiles in the wetlands. At night, these corpses will become their food, so there is no need to worry about the plague from rotting. Even if there is a plague, there are priests who can treat it.

Thank you Holy Light!!!

The dwarves held a simple funeral for the dead, and an atmosphere of sorrow permeated the entire Port Palatine.

To thank the Third Fleet for its support, the dwarves invited the supporting sailors to have a drink at the only inn in Port Palatine.

For the dwarves, death is not a big deal, drinking is. Although they have not recovered from their sorrow, it does not stop them from drinking large cups of rum.

With the experience of drinking with Fern, Jack decisively chose to drink beer.

Dwarves can not only drink, but also brew, especially beer. The best dwarf beer is dark beer, which is not only delicious but also nutritious. However, the production of dark beer is very advanced, and the output is not very high. Now is the war time, all alcohol has stopped brewing, and all people drink is the stock. There are only two barrels of dark beer left in the inn, but the owner still took them out without hesitation to entertain the sailors.

While drinking, the dwarves expressed their gratitude.

Captain Ironbeard, the garrison commander of Paladin Port, and Captain Harindor and Fizmos discussed the next strategic deployment. "The orcs will definitely not let Paladin go. They will continue to attack tomorrow."

Captain Harindor: "Tomorrow I will arrange for warships to enter the Eastern Bay to harass the orcs' offensive routes. Whether they attack Paladin or head for Ironforge, they can only watch the fleet's artillery advance."

Captain Ironbeard approved of Captain Harindor's deployment, "This way, we can defend Paladin ourselves."

Fizmos: "Let's keep some people!"

Tiexu shook his head. "With the support of the fleet, it will be difficult for the orcs to attack Paladin. Without absolute certainty, the orcs will not rashly attack. Besides, you are the navy, and fighting in the sea is what you are good at. If the warships could enter the swamp, I would have asked you to attack the orcs." The two were amused by Tiexu's joke.

After the strategic deployment was finalized, the atmosphere between the three people became much more relaxed.

The others were also drinking happily, and a few dwarves suddenly stood up, asked the innkeeper for a few musical instruments, and began to play. The cheerful music sounded, as if the battle in the daytime had never existed.

Jack was a little drunk, and in a daze he saw some sailors stand up and dance to the music.

The music suddenly changed. The sounds of the piano and whistle gradually became louder. Although the music was still cheerful, it inexplicably carried a hint of sadness.

Jack opened his eyes. This music was very familiar to him.

It has the same name as this hotel - Deep Water Inn.

The originally happy people also became somewhat depressed. It was not that they had forgotten the battle during the day, but they did not want to think about it. They wanted to suppress the sadness in their hearts with happiness, but they were still drawn out by the unique sound of the whistle, and finally it filled their hearts.

The dancing stopped, the noise stopped, the clinking of glasses disappeared, only the music continued. In the music, many people began to cry, crying very sadly. During the day, they watched their relatives and friends die in front of them, and they could only watch, unable to save them.

"Bang-"

Captain Ironbeard slammed the cup on the table, stood up and said, "Alright! We still have to fight those damn orcs tomorrow, so go back to sleep and get enough rest."

When the dwarves heard this, they raised their cups and drank them all, smashing them on the ground as if they were smashing the orcs' heads.

The sailors stood up and drank the wine in their cups. Just as they were about to smash the cups, the innkeeper rushed out and said, "Stop smashing them. If you do, there will be no cups to use tomorrow."

Captain Harindor took out a few silver coins from his arms and stuffed them into the boss's hand, then shouted to the sailors: "Put down your glasses, save your breath for the battlefield and kill more orcs."

The sailors put down their cups one after another, "Yes, let's kill those damn orcs!"

Jack stood up and put his hand on the dwarven pistol. Here, it was the only thing that could give him a sense of security. Following everyone back to the ship, he deliberately walked at the end and stopped Fizmos when he passed by, "Have you arranged someone to keep watch tonight?"

Fizmos' eyes turned, and he nodded and said, "I understand."

Jack relaxed a little and went back to the sailor's cabin to fall asleep. In the middle of the night, he woke up from his sleep and went to the deck to check. Seeing that someone was on guard, he went to the side of the ship to release water with peace of mind.

Jack fastened his pants and looked towards the east. At the end of the bay was the tall Khaz Modan Mountains. The dark mountain shadow seemed like a demon that wanted to devour the Third Fleet.

The cold wind woke Jack up. He was no longer sleepy, so he sat under the light on the deck and began to dismantle the dwarf's pistol.
