Chapter 24 The Black Shark Sets Sail

At the Blackrock Harbor Blazing Shadow Trading Company, Rosen used half of his spiritual crystals to purchase several extraordinary items.

These are the extraordinary breadfruit tree species, which are extraordinary items that do not even reach Sequence 9. As long as they are planted, they consume one's own spiritual energy and can immediately grow to a meter tall and bear more than a dozen breadfruits the size of heads.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. On this morning, just as dawn was breaking, Rosen had already packed his storage backpack, put on a hunter's suit that was easy to walk in the jungle, and left the tavern at a leisurely pace to the location marked on the port's ferry ticket sign.

With the salty sea breeze blowing, Rosen observed the Black Shark he was about to board.

This is a three-masted sailing ship. From the surface, it appears to have both sail and steam power. Whether there are other internal power sources is unknown. As far as he knows, all ships must have multiple power sources because many things on the high seas can cause some types of power to fail.

For example, places with no wind at all, places where water cannot boil, and places where flames cannot be ignited.

Without multiple propulsion systems, ships would immediately find themselves unable to move an inch in these waters.

Soon, hunters began to approach the Black Shark, waiting to board. Rosen discreetly observed these fellow passengers. They were all dressed in hunter suits suitable for jungle travel, though their specific extraordinary sequences were not discernible. However, the vast majority were likely of the hunter sequence, as the spiritual realm controlled by the Black Shark pirate ship primarily produced extraordinary resources of the hunter sequence, with the best resource being hunter sequence skill crystals.

There were only twenty passengers on the boat, and they were already looking for others to form groups for exploration.

Rosen also received offers of assistance, but he politely declined them all.

The final twenty people formed three teams, while three others, like Rosen, chose to go solo.

Forming a team is safer, but you also have to be careful of someone stabbing you in the back, and you also have to consider what to do if you are slower than your teammates when you encounter danger, so not all passengers are willing to form a team.

Some of these lone travelers are confident in their abilities, while others believe that being alone is safer.

Realizing they were about to face danger, many of the extraordinary newcomers, like the brown-haired young man, were either excited and expectant, or uneasy and fearful, and some were already considering how to escape if they really encountered danger.

Although the probability is very low, Rosen is also considering how he would escape if the Black Shark really sank.

While various contingency plans are being devised, pirates have already disembarked from the pirate ships gathered at the port to direct passengers to board.

Rosen handed the ticket to the pirate who was checking it. The tall, thin pirate cut the ticket in half and gave one half to Rosen. Rosen immediately put the half of the ticket into his pocket, knowing that losing it on the ship would be dangerous.

Rosen followed the passengers to the lower deck, found the cabin corresponding to his ticket, and went inside.

Energy fluctuations immediately appeared outside the hatch, locking it shut. The entire cabin was like a sealed prison. The only thing that satisfied Rosen was that the cabin was actually semi-independent of the pirate ship, so even the pirate captain didn't know the specific situation inside.

Unless someone uses supernatural abilities inside the cabin, the passenger cabins are like iron coffins.

Rosen checked that the bedding was all new, put down his storage backpack, and gently pressed his hand against the outside of the cabin.

The door to the mysterious study opened quickly. He pulled open the door, which only he could see, and looked through it at the window inside the study. Outside the window was neither a harbor nor the sea, but pitch black. Clearly, there was another layer of the Black Shark's hull outside the passengers' cabins.

No wonder the intelligence reports said that the guest rooms were all made of iron coffins, and that if necessary, they could even be thrown out of the pirate ship.

Rosen had originally planned to peek out the window to see what was happening outside, but it seemed he would have to stay in the cabin and wait patiently, hoping the trip would go smoothly without any trouble.
