Chapter 87, page 1.7, section 4: Lias's Voyage
"Over here! I've already asked around, and it's the shift change time right now, so we definitely won't run into any security guards," Lias whispered to the two of them.

Mu Yegui and Daolin were preparing to return to their cabins, but with her keen hearing, she easily overheard Lias whispering to the two girls behind her. She paused slightly, standing at the corner without appearing, her cool silver eyes quietly watching the three people who were about to open the door to cabin 0302.

When Mu Yegui stopped, Dao Lin subconsciously glanced into the distance and then stopped as well. Beneath his white, tousled hair, his icy blue eyes held a hint of amusement and curiosity, as if he had encountered something interesting.

Jin Yin lay on Dao Lin's shoulder with its furry belly turned over, then quietly rolled over and continued sleeping. Its little paws, clenched into tiny fists, twitched slightly, as if it were having a special dream.

Lias stood on tiptoe to try and push the door open, but since a card was required and there was no doorknob, he could only pout and say angrily, "It's locked."

“After all, this was a guest room before the incident, so it would be strange if it didn’t have a lock.” Moya touched the sensor lock and frowned. “It seems we have no choice but to use the last resort: breaking down the door.”

"You're always thinking about brute force to break through the levels. Do you want us to find out?" Fernana frowned and said disapprovingly.

"Or do you think there are other methods?" Moya turned to look back at Fernana and asked in return.

"Is your brain all muscles? That's so rude."

"Do you have a better way to open the door?"

Listening to the two arguing about how to open the door, Lias stared at the sensor lock with a troubled expression.

Mu Yegui murmured to himself, "Did you hear that, Xiao Yin?" Breaking through the barrier by force is not advisable unless there is no other way out.

Mu Yin: I feel offended.

Dao Lin still clutched the four smooth silver coins tightly in his palm, never ceasing to rub them with his fingertips. He felt as if he had discovered something, but since he wasn't sure, he needed to confirm it again.

While he was lost in thought, the three of them, unable to unlock the door correctly and with security guards approaching, ultimately had to give up and leave.

Before leaving, Lias looked at the sensor lock and said in an expectant tone, "If only we didn't need the sensor lock tomorrow, and could just push it open." It sounded like something a child would say, a wishful thought about reality.

After the three left, Mu Yegui came out and stood in front of the door of 0302, gazing at it with her clear, cold silver eyes, lost in thought.

"Five years ago, a passenger in this cabin was brutally murdered, but the killer was never caught. The killer was ruthless; the body was reportedly cut into 206 pieces, exactly the number of bones in the body, each one perfectly intact. However, when they finally pieced it back together, only 205 pieces were found; one was missing. The missing bone was the fourth metacarpal bone of the left hand, the one on the ring finger where the ring is worn."

Dao Lin paused for a moment and then said, "At the time, there was a theory that it was done by the victim's wife, husband, or admirer, but in fact, no one knew who the deceased was. All information about him seemed to have been erased, and it was impossible to find out anything, including whether he was male or female. So it eventually became a cold case." He had gotten this information from chatting with other NPCs after boarding the ship. For some reason, he always felt that this case must be related to the cruise ship.

"Guests, what are you doing here?" The security guard saw the two people at the entrance of room 0203 from afar, was startled, and quickly ran over to ask.

Mu Yegui answered calmly, "I got lost, so I had to stay and look at the map of the cabin to confirm which area we've reached." She pointed to the slightly yellowed map pasted on the opposite side of the door of cabin 0203.

"I'll take the guests back. Where are you headed?" The security guard paused for a moment, then asked with a smile. "03357, I'm planning to change my clothes," Mu Yegui replied expressionlessly.

"I'll take you there now." The security guard nodded and led the way. Because Dao Lin was wearing a waiter's uniform, the security guard naturally assumed that Dao Lin was Mu Yegui's servant.

Dao Lin followed behind the two, and casually slipped a smooth silver coin from his fingertips onto the door of 0302. It gleamed brightly, and anyone passing by could easily spot it.

Mu Ye returned to the room and casually pulled Dao Lin in by the wrist.

She glanced at the time; it was four in the afternoon, and the banquet would be starting soon.

"Cooperation?" Dao Lin suddenly asked.

Mu Yegui remained silent, simply gazing at Dao Lin. Her cool, silver eyes reflected nothing, as calm and still as a deep, ancient pool, yet impossible to fathom her true thoughts.

“I think you need a companion. Perhaps you know other people on the Crown Prince line, but believe me, no one is more trustworthy than me.” Dao Lin smiled gently, his icy blue eyes radiating confidence, without even a hint of humility.

"Reason?" Mu Yegui countered.

“You know I’m very lucky, so this time is no exception.” Dao Lin was referring to the identity card he had drawn, and of course, he was also implying that working with Mu Yegui would make it easier to obtain clues.

Mu Yegui extended a hand to Dao Lin and said, "Pleasure doing business with you." For Mu Yegui, it didn't really matter; her identity was that of a 'Guardian,' meaning she didn't need to do anything other than protect Young Master Lias. Therefore, nothing else mattered to her. However, knowing more was always better than knowing nothing.

Mu Ye Gui didn't intend to look for Shu Ming and Shui Qi. Both of them were deeply secretive, each harboring their own agendas. To avoid trouble, she didn't even want to see them.

Therefore, Daolin was the only person she knew left.

The only suitable candidate for a partner was someone who was intelligent enough and about the same height as her.

This might be the mysterious sense of kinship among short people.

"Xiao Jin will stay with you." Almost everyone who sees Dao Lin can't ignore the gold and silver on his shoulder, but if the gold and silver were to return to her now, people would definitely realize that they are old acquaintances.

They don't intend to reveal that the two know each other; it would be much easier to remain strangers.

Mu Yegui reached up and took off her beach hat, then placed her hand behind her back, pausing slightly. Her cool, discreet gaze fell on the stunned Dao Lin, a hint of confusion in her voice as she softly asked, "Are you here to watch me change?"

"I'll be leaving right away!"
