Chapter 531, page 2.1-45: The Crown: The Treasure of a Lost Dynasty
The sky was filled with twinkling stars, and a huge, bright moon hung high in the night sky, casting a soft, silvery light, like a mother's hands soothing the sleeping earth.
Thin gray clouds drifted by with a gentle breeze, softly veiling the bright moonlight as if draping it in a thin veil.
It was a huge, bustling commercial city, and at its center was a very large pool of water, built of white bricks and stones. The clear water flowed with a slight coolness, carrying the scent of night, and shimmered in the sunlight…
Suddenly, ripples appeared on the water's surface, scattering the reflection of the full moon.
“I remember there was a pool exactly like this in the capital, but it wasn’t as big as this one,” Mu Yegui said softly, sitting by the pool and looking down at her fair, round feet immersed in the water.
"The purification pool is where residents collect water and wash clothes daily. Special devices were installed during its construction to automatically filter out dirt from the water, cleaning up anything that comes into contact with it without any contamination, keeping the water clean forever. Similarly, it's not only drinkable, but it can even improve your health."
"In other words, as long as this core item exists, the water cannot be contaminated," Mu Yegui said thoughtfully.
She bent down slightly, her fingertips lightly touching the water's surface, like a dragonfly skimming the water, touching and then leaving, leaving ripples that spread outwards in circles.
"The cleanest place in the whole city..." Mu Ye lowered his eyes and murmured softly.
Lin Ya stood beside her, and his expression changed slightly after hearing her words.
"You mean this might be the source? But that's impossible, because the water couldn't possibly be polluted," Lin Ya shook his head, denying it.
"But what if the source is polluted?" Mu Yegui countered, his cool silver eyes calm and deep, like an ancient pool without the slightest ripple.
Lin Ya was slightly taken aback, clearly not expecting Mu Yegui to say that.
Mu Yegui didn't speak again, but looked down at his palm. The dark totem faintly exuded a terrifying aura, spreading little by little to his arm.
She dipped her palm into the water, and the clear water gradually turned black, but just as it was about to spread, she removed her hand from the water.
Sharp fingernails dug into her palm, slicing it open without hesitation. Clear blood slowly flowed out, shimmering silver in the moonlight with a hint of darkness, before dripping down her fingers into the pool.
She jumped into the pool, the water barely reaching her knees.
The white dress embroidered with gold patterns was soaked, and the water seeped up little by little.
Mu Yegui stood in the pool, turned to look at Lin Ya standing on the shore, placed her hands behind her back, leaned slightly forward, and looked up at him. Her cool silver eyes were as calm as ever, but there was an inexplicable complexity in them.
"She's coming." A soft, sweet voice drifted through the silence. Before Lin Ya could figure out who "she" was, Mu Yegui turned and walked toward the center of the pool.
The space seemed to have undergone some strange changes. Droplets of water floated on the surface of the water and slowly rose into the sky, as if they had lost gravity and floated in the air like bubbles.
Mu Yegui looked up at the bright full moon. A gentle breeze blew through her white veil, lifting the fabric that concealed her delicate features, and the wispy gray hair on her forehead swayed softly.
She tied all her long hair into a loose three-strand braid that hung down her back, slightly veiled by the soft white veil, giving her a dreamy, ethereal look.
Her wrists were bound by golden chains, which made a cold sound with each movement.
Crystal-clear water droplets floated in the sky, reflecting the silvery light, resembling tiny, beautiful moons. Mu Yegui reached out and gently touched one of the water droplets in the air; it merely swayed slightly without breaking or falling.
“Gravity is gradually disappearing, and that arrogant queen is about to descend and reap the sacrifices she has chosen,” Mu Yegui murmured.
The wound on his palm showed no sign of healing, continuously oozing transparent blood with silvery streaks, creating a dazzling pattern in the clear pool of water, resembling a galaxy and sparkling with starlight.
The water droplets reflected her delicate and beautiful face, her pale and bloodless skin, and her cold and expressionless face.
He heard the sound of a heavy object falling into water, and Lin Ya slowly walked towards Mu Yegui.
His handsome face inexplicably carried a hint of sadness and struggle, before finally turning cold. His beautiful eyes were covered by a black cloth, but even so, it could not conceal his outstanding and stunning appearance.
Its pale skin and the few sharp fangs that are visible even when its mouth is closed due to excessive growth give it an eerie feel, full of the aura of a dark creature, yet it does not lose its aristocratic elegance.
Her long, dark hair was left loose behind her head, not tied up, and was allowed to be blown about by the breeze.
With his back to Lin Ya, Mu Yegui thoughtfully stroked the thin sword at his waist.
The next second, a flash of silver light appeared, and with a 'clang', the drawn slender sword and dagger collided, sparks flying.
The cloth covering Lin Ya's eyes slowly drifted into the water, revealing his lifeless, dark red vertical pupils, which looked like rubies covered in dust, having lost their original luster.
Mu Yegui narrowed his eyes slightly, "As expected, she has him under her control."
However, because he was bound by golden chains, even though he felt he was using his usual strength, he was unable to transmit it to the other party.
Lin Ya moved his hand slightly, directly knocking the thin sword she was holding away.
With a soft 'plop,' the rapier fell into the pool in the distance.
After knocking her sword away, the dagger came hurtling toward her vulnerable neck.
Mu Yegui slightly turned to avoid his attack, but that was all she could do. As long as the chains remained, she had no way to resist and could only passively dodge.
Her toes, still in the water, moved and kicked towards Lin Ya, splashing water everywhere. More water droplets floated in the air, as if time had frozen.
The full moon in the sky cast a silvery glow, and the water droplets floating in the air reflected the shimmering light, sparkling like fallen stars...
Her white dress clung to her body, soaked by the water, and her cool, silver eyes silently watched the indifferent Lin Ya as she dodged and observed the bottom of the pool.
She crouched slightly, reaching into the water with one hand to grasp the hilt of the rapier, blocking the attack in front of her chest just as the dagger was about to strike her. Her other hand touched Lin Ya's wrist, pressing down hard on a certain spot.
The sudden pain brought Lin Ya back to his senses in an instant, causing him to involuntarily let go of the dagger. Just as it was about to fall into the water, a hand suddenly reached out and caught it.
