Chapter 335, Section 1.22: Luck
The red spider lily bells on the palace ribbons jingled softly, producing a melodious and captivating sound.

A light blue, high-necked, diagonally-fastened robe concealed his fair neck. The conservative style, almost entirely devoid of any revealing clothing, unexpectedly exuded a unique blend of sensuality and asceticism. Golden irises were painted on the robe, so lifelike they seemed to be in full bloom.

A golden bird dangles from the plum blossom button on the collar, as if it could soar into the sky at any moment. Her long, dark red hair is casually tied into a loose three-strand braid that hangs down from her shoulders to her waist, with a golden hair clip at the end, from which a tassel hangs down and sways slightly in the air.

Her slender, fair fingers gently twirled a white card. Her stunningly beautiful face was as gorgeous and enchanting as a blooming peony. Her golden-orange eyes, as beautiful as the sunset, gazed quietly at the contents of the card, and the crimson at the corner of her eyes was as dazzling as a flame.

He leaned against the vermilion carved railing, his left hand holding a precious sword with a blood-red jade pendant, gently pressing it against the railing.

A gentle breeze ruffled the dark red strands of hair, making them seem as if the air itself was burning.

"Ling Tong? Are you really going?" The woman who spoke was wearing a white cheongsam with blue and white porcelain patterns, exuding an intellectual and mature charm. She took a small sip of a cup of green tea.

"Hmm, designated copy." His deep, magnetic voice didn't reveal his current emotions. Ling Tong casually flipped the card over, his expression calm and unreadable.

"I have a feeling there's some kind of conspiracy." The woman frowned, feeling somewhat uneasy.

"No matter how scheming there may be, it can't be as terrifying as someone with a heart of stone like you." Ling Tong said casually, picked up a cloak from the side, put it on, and turned to leave.

The woman glared at Ling Tong, stomped her high heels on the ground, and parted her red lipstick-covered lips slightly. "What do you mean I'm heartless? It's you who's so clueless! You hit me in the face the moment we met and even tried to kill me! You have no sense of chivalry. If I wasn't afraid of you, I wouldn't be your temporary apostle! Humph!"

"What are you talking about me?" Ling Tong stood at the door and glanced at the woman with his narrow, golden-orange eyes. The crimson at the corner of his eyes was particularly eye-catching and captivating.

"Of course, you're praising my master's stunning beauty. Even a viper like me is captivated by your 'big pants'." The woman chuckled, her demeanor shifting from gentle elegance to alluring and seductive in an instant.

"Shang Qing, if you changed back into men's clothing, I might be able to talk to you properly." Ling Tong said coldly, revealing her bluntness.

"No~ It's so nice for girls to be sweet and soft, who wants to be a hard, smelly man!" Shang Qing said slowly, playing with his nail polished fingers.

"I'm leaving. Don't let anything inside escape." Ling Tong glanced at the tightly closed door and added as a final sentence.

"Hurry up! I still need to report back to Lord Ji after I finish my business!" Shang Qing said, flicking his handkerchief with a look of disdain.

the other side.

"Hmm...it seems to be here..." The man, with long, straight, bluish-gray hair casually draped behind his head, had delicate features and looked to be around 18 years old. He wore a gray cloak that completely concealed his clothes underneath.

He raised his eyes and gazed silently at the city wall in front of him with his blue-gray eyes, then looked down at the card in his hand and muttered to himself.

"So this is where it is..." The two men behind him, dressed in similar clothes that seemed to be uniforms, exchanged glances after hearing what the man said.

They then simultaneously drew their guns and fired at the man's back.

Two loud bangs echoed through the sky, startling the birds in the nearby trees.

The man remained staring at the card in his hand, two dark holes clearly visible in the city wall before him. The two men were slightly startled; why had their shots, fired simultaneously at his back, completely missed?
"You two are so noisy, you're disturbing my thinking." The man frowned and turned to look at the two men, completely ignoring the fact that they were holding guns and even pointing the black muzzles at him.

"Is that so?" The two men glanced at each other again, drew short swords from their waists, and approached the man while firing their guns, seemingly intending to attack him at close range if they couldn't reach him from a distance.

The man sighed softly, sounding somewhat helpless.

He casually dodged their attacks, and when they showed an opening, he lifted his leg and tripped them to the ground.

The black pistol flew through the air and then slowly fell, where it was gently caught by a hand.

The man who had fallen to the ground struggled to get up, but the next second a cold gun barrel was pressed against his forehead, along with a casual remark, "Don't move."

The man had one foot on the other man's back, and held a black pistol to the man's forehead with the other. But he never looked at him; instead, he was looking at the white card in his other hand, his brows slightly furrowed as if he were thinking about something.

The man, lying on the ground, looked up at the man who was pinning him to the ground and roared, "Beth... Beltias! Don't think that just because the president and vice president trust you you you can act with impunity! Internal strife is forbidden in the association!"

The other man's hands trembled as he gripped the gun. He glared angrily at Bertias and warned, "If you dare to fire, I'll report you to the Association immediately, and you'd better prepare to be hunted down by them!"

"Oh, really?" Bertias replied casually before slowly turning his gaze to the man he was stepping on.

Bertias glanced at the other man, who was pointing a gun at him but was trembling, with his beautiful blue-gray eyes, and said calmly, "It's good that the villain is the one to accuse first. You were the ones who attacked first, so why are you trying to cry wolf when you can't win?"

"Don't joke around! You were the one who started it! We were just defending ourselves."

Bertias chuckled, clearly amused by the two men's remarks.

His hand holding the gun twitched slightly, and with a 'bang,' the bullet pierced the head of the man on the ground. At the same time, the white card he had been holding somehow flew into another man's neck and became firmly embedded there.

The man glared angrily at Bertias and fell to the ground in despair, blood flowing everywhere.

“In this desolate wilderness, the association wouldn’t know if a few people died.” Bertias wiped the pistol with his cloak and threw it on the ground.

He bent down slightly, pulled the card, now stained red, from another man's neck, and casually flicked it, scattering the blood on it onto the ground.

Two people slowly approached from a distance and witnessed Bertias pull out the card. The tall girl instinctively shouted and then squatted down, covering her head with her hands.

"Aaaaaah! Murder! I didn't see anything! I didn't see anything! Don't kill me!!!"

Bertias: "..." Oh, there really are people here. This is a bit of bad luck.

Beckham is very strong, although not as strong as the Gemini.
