Chapter 317, 1.21-33: The Girl Imprisoned in the Tower
"Has the building here been renovated? It looks a little different from when I came here before," Mu Yegui asked softly, looking at the white, sacred pillars carved with angel totems around him.

"I suppose so. It collapsed more than halfway six months ago and was rebuilt. Anyway, it was already like this when I came here." Dionysus sat on a garden chair, resting his chin on one hand and taking sips of wine from a golden cup in the other, looking relaxed and slightly tipsy.

How did they manage to rebuild half of the collapsed structure into something even larger and more luxurious than before in just six months?
Moreover, according to Dionysus, it didn't seem to have been six months. He said that it was already like this when he came, which means that it had already been completed before he arrived.

"When did Dionysus arrive here?" Her cool, silver eyes were fixed on the man who was drinking, and she asked softly.

He paused slightly as if he had a mental block, and only continued drinking after several minutes. He glanced at Mu Yegui with his long, narrow, golden phoenix eyes and asked with a half-smile, "Are you trying to trick me into telling me something?"

“You can think of it this way: although I was just curious about when this church was built, that’s why I wanted to know when you arrived,” Mu Yegui said slowly, stroking the white bone ring on his left index finger.

“I don’t care, it’s not a secret anyway.” Dionysus’s speech was still incredibly slow. “I received the Sloth’s summons after the September instance ended, which is why I came here. It’s only been a few days since the September instance ended.”

In other words, the Vatican was completely renovated in just three months, which is simply an impossible feat.

"Has Dionysus been here before?" Mu Yegui asked again, as if it were just casual conversation.

"I wasn't familiar with Lanlos, the former owner of this place, so how could I possibly come back? Before the Sloth Summoning, I was happily soaking in the wine pool and sleeping, unlike now when it's all so troublesome..."

Dionysus touched his somewhat messy, wine-red hair, his handsome face showing a hint of annoyance, though it was unclear what it was about.

Mu Yegui picked up his teacup and took a small sip of black tea. Although he had never met Lazy, he inexplicably felt that Dionysus was more like Lazy than Lazy, perhaps because he was lazy enough to find troublesome.

Her cool, silver eyes swept over the respectfully standing servants around her, and she sensed that the atmosphere here was more serious than before.

Could it be that the two Lanlos have completely different personalities?
"I will not admit it! The godfather Lanlos whom I serve... is absolutely not you! Absolutely!!" From afar came Mash's angry roar, which she had met once before, like a desperate beast making its last stand.

"Please do not be rude to His Highness." Two priests in white robes stood in front of Mashu, seemingly protecting something.
Mashu tried to rush forward but was blocked. In the end, she could only roar helplessly, "Who do you think you are, Lanlos? Why are you taking the name of the most important person to me? You don't deserve it!!"

"No matter what you think, the Lanlos you knew is dead. This is my name now, so please don't get it wrong. If you can't accept this, you can choose to leave. I won't let anyone stop you." The voice was very childish, but it lacked much emotion, and its coldness was chilling.

Mashu turned her gaze to Lias, who was standing silently to the side, and roared, "Lias! Say something!? Lanlos has never mistreated you, has he?! Why aren't you saying a word?"

“I’m sorry, Mashu, I want to stay.” Lias looked at Mashu quietly, shook his head at him, and said earnestly.

Mashu's expression twisted in an instant. He rushed forward and punched Lias hard, yelling as he did so, "Traitor! You opportunist! Lanlos shouldn't have kept you here! It would have been better if you had died than to betray him here."

Despite bearing Mashu's power, Lias calmly looked up at him, a smile more painful than tears on his face, and said, "What kind of being is Mashu's Godfather? This has always been how Lanlos has been passed down; after the previous one dies, a new one appears, and they will always be called Lanlos. This is a fact, Mashu, and it won't change just because you can't accept it." Because he knew this, he couldn't even express his pain. His Godfather was destined to become a forgotten past, and even forcing it wouldn't bring him back.

What can he do?
Only by staying and cherishing the memories of this time we spent together can he remember him forever. If he leaves, he might truly forget him, and then no one will remember him at all.

"Enough. I'm too lazy to continue talking to this irrational madman. Throw him out, and kill him if he gets any closer to the Vatican." The childish voice carried an inappropriate maturity and weariness as he spoke coldly.

Lias watched as the priest pulled the madwoman Mash off him and dragged her away like trash, his gaze slowly settling on the little boy who looked only 12 years old.

Her long silver hair trailed on the clean marble floor, and her exquisitely beautiful face was so perfect it seemed like the most perfect work of a god. A small golden totem was drawn between her brows, so small that it was impossible to tell what it was; from a distance, it was just a golden dot.

His silver eyes were cold and emotionless, as if he were looking at a dead man, with a composure and calmness that was beyond his years.

His holy aura carries an undeniable air of superiority, like a god, distant from everyone, and to touch him would be blasphemy.

A white gemstone ring on the index finger of his left hand shimmered faintly.

Seeing that Lias was staring at him, he glanced at him and said coldly, "Hmm? Is there anything else?"

“No… I’m going back now…” Lias said softly as he got up.

The farce ended abruptly.

Mu Yegui looked up at the scene, his expression unchanged, and saw the little boy slowly walking towards them.

“Dionysus, if you’re so free, go back to your room and drink. Don’t pollute the garden here; it smells terrible, the whole place reeks of alcohol.” He frowned, his tone tinged with disgust.

Dionysus remained silent for a moment, then silently stood up, tied the golden goblet back to his waist, and left without saying a word.

All that remained were the little boy named Lanlos and Mu Yegui sitting on the garden chair.

For a while, there was no sound.

The new Lanlos has arrived!! He's a cute little boy!
