"President Yin, are you declaring war on the Federation on behalf of Han?" General Craig roared in anger.

A gunshot rang out, and the Secretary of State died instantly with his brains splattered. Screams and gasps of alarm rang out from both sides at the same time.

"Think what you want, but first, have the army retreat." President Yin grinned menacingly. "I'll contact you again later." The video call ended, and the people at the conference table exchanged bewildered glances. Before Maureen could speak, General Craig, his face flushed, abruptly stood up.

"This is blatant provocation! We should know what that bastard is trying to do."

“General Craig, I think what you should be doing now is fulfilling your duties, instead of standing here shouting like a frightened little girl.”

Maureen decided she could no longer tolerate the Army Chief of Staff. He was not the only survivor of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; apart from the chairman and vice chairman who were trapped in the Capitol, a total of six members had survived.

“Notify Air Force Chief of Staff General Goldfein and Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Richardson to report for duty immediately, as well as Special Operations Command Master Sergeant Jason Hayes,” Maureen said to Joey Reicher.

She then turned to an army chief of staff whose face was gradually turning red, and said, "I hope my military advisors are professional enough, rather than just clamoring to go to war with a certain country."

"The source of the communication was traced and confirmed to be the White House's continuous monitoring center."

"Bring them in, quick!" Maureen's spirits lifted, and the last heavy weight in her heart was finally lifted.
