Chapter 1505 The Fall of Olympus (Part Two)
"Is it done yet?" a terrorist wearing a black mask to cover his face asked impatiently.

"Damn it, the people down here are pressuring you, and now they're pressuring you too. I just locked the external network." The guy typing on the keyboard complained impatiently in broken English.

"These guys don't even know how to use a unified standard when installing surveillance cameras. They've created so many interfaces that I have to manually adjust them area by area."

As he looked up, he glanced at the monitors covering the entire wall, then suddenly grabbed the walkie-talkie and yelled, "There's movement in the north corridor of the East Wing office!"

Several gunshots rang out quickly, followed by a crackling sound from the walkie-talkie: "Someone tried to escape through the window, killed."

Just as the man in front of the computer put down his walkie-talkie, a slight noise suddenly came from the hallway outside the door, like a bullet casing clattering and rolling across the floor.

The two people in the room were startled and turned around, simultaneously raising their guns and aiming them at the door from which the sound came.

However, to their surprise, the side door, which had been tightly closed, was suddenly pulled open as it got closer to the two of them, and then a ghostly black shadow flashed into the room.

The black terrorist standing behind the baton was the first to be hit. Before he could turn his gun around, he felt a pain in his throat. Instantly, all his strength seemed to be ejected along with the severed carotid artery. His trachea, which had also been cut open, could only make a faint "hoarse" sound.

The man standing behind his companion had just turned his gun around when the dark figure appeared in front of him in the next instant.

Jack gripped the man's right hand, which was holding the pistol, so tightly that he lost the strength to pull the trigger. Before he could even cry out in pain, a dagger had already pierced his ribs and heart with pinpoint accuracy.

The two bodies fell to the ground one after the other. Jack didn't even look at them, but walked around them, pulled up a chair, sat down at the keyboard, and lightly tapped the headset. "Kate, what should we do next?"

"Open the card reader, place the Secret Service badge on it, and then leave the rest to me."

As all the screens in front of him turned blue and then lines of code began to scroll, Jack breathed a sigh of relief. Having an AI as an assistant was so convenient; he didn't know how long it would have taken him to figure it out on his own.

A few minutes later, just as Jack bent down to examine the two corpses, Kate, who was hacking into the White House system, suddenly asked, "Hmm, 'PEOC' in the underground fortress just sent a communication request to the Pentagon. Do you want to take a look?"
-
"Madam, this way please." Maureen was still a little dazed as she was led into the Pentagon by a group of Secret Service agents, until Joey Reicher, the Deputy Director of the Secret Service who was walking at the front, turned around and extended his hand to her.

Maureen saw many Pentagon staff members along the way. Some were crying into their phones, some were whispering in small groups in corners, but most were looking at her blankly, as if they had not yet recovered from the series of unexpected events.

Footsteps echoed from the other end of the corridor, and a group of people escorted an elderly judge toward them. The middle-aged woman leading the group looked somewhat familiar.

But Maureen felt a little more at ease when she saw Hannah and Jenny following behind the middle-aged woman.

"Ms. Mora (Dana), in the news."

Before Maureen could finish speaking, she noticed a book in front of her. Looking down, she saw that Dana Morge was holding a Bible in her hands.

"Madam, please place your hands on the Bible and then read with me." The elderly judge, whose steps were somewhat unsteady, spoke in a very loud voice.

Coming to her senses, Maureen instinctively placed her left hand on the Bible, and raised her right hand like the old judge, palm facing outward.

"Madam, please repeat after me, I, Maureen Cahill, solemnly swear," the old judge read solemnly. "I, Maureen Cahill, solemnly swear that I will faithfully perform the duties of President of the United States of America, and will do everything in my power to uphold, preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, God bless."

As Maureen recited the oath following the old judge, Joey Reicher, standing nearby, captured the moment on his phone.

The old judge took the initiative to shake hands with Maureen, simply addressed her as "Madam President," and then retrieved the Bible. The oath-taking ceremony, which was so simple that it could even be described as hasty, was thus completed.

“Madam President, please follow me.” Dana Morges led the way, while Joey Reicher stood behind Maureen.

“Ms. Morge, I want to know about Zoe.” Maureen recognized Jack’s female boss, Dana Morge, and couldn’t wait to ask after following her into the elevator.

“Congresswoman Anderson (Zoe) is not in the Capitol. Jack said he has confirmed her location and he will find a way to get her out.”

As Dana Morge pressed the elevator button, she said succinctly, "Rosie is assisting Jack in the front-line command post. She'll get back to you as soon as she has any news."

"Where are we going now?" Maureen glanced at Hannah and Jenny, who followed her into the elevator. She didn't see any sadness on their faces. Their nerves, which had been on edge ever since they were suddenly taken away by the Secret Service from their secret safe house in the suburbs of Baltimore, finally relaxed a little.

"The command center located underground in the Pentagon."

Dana gave Maureen a meaningful look. "Get ready, the storm has only just begun."

The elevator doors opened, leading down a long corridor. Then, with a loud bang, the heavy metal security doors burst open, unleashing a torrent of noise and a cacophony of ringing telephones.

The first thing you see is a large hall that can accommodate thousands of people. In the middle of the hall is a long conference table, and on both sides against the walls are various dazzling communication devices and LCD monitors.

The long conference table was now full of people, men and women, young and old, some in military uniforms, others in suits and leather shoes.

The common characteristic of these people is that they are all busy issuing orders to the phone in front of them. Some of them even have more than one phone, and when they can't hold it in their left and right hands, they put it on the table in front of them.

The head seat at one end of the long table was empty, but whether intentionally or unintentionally, almost no one present noticed the group that had suddenly appeared, as everyone was busy with their own tasks.

"Excuse me." Maureen walked to the only empty seat in the main room and tapped the table lightly.

But perhaps because her voice was too soft, it did not attract everyone's attention. The first person on the left, an army general with four stars on his shoulder insignia, had a particularly loud voice.

"I require all special forces members on leave to return to their posts immediately upon receiving this order. Can you execute this? Yes, assign it immediately."

Upon receiving Maureen's pleading look, Joey Reicher, who was standing beside her, stepped forward and slammed his hand on the table, his loud voice easily drowning out all the other noises in the room.

"Hi! Hi! Ladies and gentlemen! Please show some basic respect, the President has something to say!"
