Chapter 1938 The Situation

"Sister Mi'er, you and Brother Wan take Mingxiang and Ashi to Zuiyue Tower to settle down with Fang Lihui for the time being." After Fang Zilan finished speaking, she said to Hongtai, "Before the imperial troops arrive, tell your men to hide. As for you and Honghe, come with me."

"Where to, Zuiyue Tower?" Hong Tai raised an eyebrow. "Although there are very few people left on Feiling Mountain, I will not abandon them."

“Didn’t I tell them to hide well? A cunning rabbit has three burrows; I don’t believe the imperial court can find them easily.” Fang Zilan said seriously, “But you are different from Honghe. If you are caught…”

She didn't continue, and Hong Tai nodded slightly: "Since the little beauty has said so, I can't very well refuse."

“Brother…” Honghe tugged at Hongtai’s sleeve, indicating that Fang Zilan was, after all, Princess Wuqing, and even if he didn’t treat her with the utmost respect, he should at least show her some deference.

Hong Tai shrugged indifferently and turned to make arrangements for the remaining people on Feiling Mountain. Fang Zilan followed behind him, saying, "I'll go with you."

“My little beauty, I will never go back on my promise.” Hong Tai stopped in his tracks. “Don’t be afraid, go and treat your wound first.”

Fang Zilan stopped in her tracks, her heart filled with mixed emotions, but she still stubbornly said, "I'm not afraid."

“Okay, I’m scared.” Hong Tai’s gaze fell on Fang Zilan’s bloodied and mangled shoulder. “Go, don’t let your friend worry.”

Fang Zilan gave a soft "hmm," turned around and walked back, letting Zhen Mi'er treat her wounds. Afterwards, she and Wan Jun, along with Mingxiang and Ashi, went down the mountain via a side path.

After Hong Tai finished arranging his men, he saw Fang Zilan and Hong He waiting not far behind him. "Alright, let's go down the mountain."

Fang Zilan remained unmoved, simply extending her hand. "Give me your hand."

Hong Tai smiled ambiguously and grabbed Fang Zilan's wrist. "What, little beauty, are you so inseparable from me?"

"The other hand," Fang Zilan said, grabbing Hong Tai's hand, which he was trying to hide behind his back, without regard for the fact that she had hurt him. "Since I hurt you, I naturally have to take responsibility."

She quickly treated Hong Tai's hand wound, saying, "Try not to get it wet for the next couple of days."

"Thank you, little beauty." Hong Tai grabbed Fang Zilan's wrist with his other hand. She tried to pull away, but considering the injury on his hand, she didn't shake him off.

Honghe coughed lightly, "Brother, Princess, let's go."

"I am not a princess, I wasn't in the past, and I never will be," Fang Zilan said calmly. "You can call me Zixiu, Fang Zilan, or Miss Zhen, whatever you like."

"I still prefer to call you Little Beauty." Hong Tai was as shameless as ever. Fang Zilan was too lazy to argue with him. She glared at him and left without looking back.

On the way, Honghe couldn't help but ask, "We're all going to Zuiyue Tower, why are we splitting up?"

“The little beauty probably doesn’t want to cause trouble for her cousin.” Hong Tai’s lazy voice came from beside Fang Zilan. She didn’t look at him, but her voice deepened. “In Zuiyue Tower, I am Zhen Shi of Qianjinfang. The head of the household must not be mistaken.”

“You shouldn’t have come.” Fu Mingyue’s voice was soft, but Fang Zilan heard it clearly. “I’ve heard that many times, but no one has ever been able to stop me from going wherever I want.”

She stood behind Fu Mingyue, looking at her gaunt face in the bronze mirror, and asked, "Why did you kill Wen Ran?"

"Why?" Fu Mingyue repeated the word, a strange smile appearing on her face. "Of course, it's for you..." Before she could finish speaking, Fang Zilan's plum blossom sword was already drawn and placed at her neck. "You are not Fu Mingyue."

"You knew all along?" Fu Mingyue's smile instantly turned to terror. "When did you...?"

"When the sedan chair door was split open," Fang Zilan interrupted the fake Fu Mingyue, "otherwise, why do you think I would set off that firework?"

As she spoke, she touched the bronze mirror with the tip of her sword, and it shattered into pieces in an instant. The fake Fu Mingyue's face inside also disintegrated and twisted into another face that she had seen before.

"How much did Fang Chongzheng give you? You're all rushing to my death one by one." Fang Zilan curled her lips, her tone full of undisguised sarcasm. "Heroine Huo, it's been a long time."

The mask fell away, revealing her true face; it was Huo Chun'er from the Sword Sect. Her face was pale, but she still forced herself to sit up straight. "Miss Zixiu, you really have a bad memory. We clearly just met at Zhongling Temple."

“Yes, we just met,” Fang Zilan interjected. “But you never learn. Or do you think that just because you fought against the Ghost Gate with me once, I will show you mercy?”

"Of course not." Huo Chun'er turned her head away. "We're here only because we've been paid to help people out of trouble."

"What does Fang Chongzheng want you to do?" Fang Zilan composed herself, and Huo Chun'er pursed her lips. "Earlier, Her Majesty the Empress spent a lot of money to issue a bounty to the martial arts world, asking all martial arts practitioners to protect Miss Fang. If anyone intends to harm Miss Fang, they will be killed without mercy."

Fang Zilan remained noncommittal, "What does Her Majesty the Empress's bounty have to do with Fang Chongzheng's attempt to kill me?"

"Lord Fang doesn't intend to kill you, it's just that you're following the Crown Prince's wife, that is, Miss Fang the Third..." Huo Chun'er blurted out, but Fang Zilan completely ignored her words, "If you don't kill me, then you're going to kill Wen Ran?"

Huo Chun'er lowered her eyes and remained silent, seemingly acquiescing. Seeing this, Fang Zilan seemed to have thought of something and asked again, "Is Lord Wen's death related to you?"

"It's irrelevant." Huo Chun'er denied it quickly, but didn't dare to look up at Fang Zilan. She raised an eyebrow. "Even when you're about to die, you still won't tell the truth?"

"Since you don't believe me, anything I say will be in vain." Huo Chun'er closed her eyes. "Kill me or torture me, it's all up to you."

Fang Zilan sheathed her sword. "I'm very curious, how are you going to kill Wen Ran right under Xie Chen's nose?"

“If Miss Zixiu is curious, you might as well go and take a look.” Huo Chun’er opened her eyes, turned around and looked up at Fang Zilan. “I’m afraid if you go too late, you’ll only be able to collect Young Master Wen’s body.”

“If Wen Ran dies…” Fang Zilan said through gritted teeth, “none of you will survive.”

"Really?" Huo Chun'er suddenly laughed. "I'm also very curious, how does Miss Zixiu plan to kill us all right under Mr. Xie's nose?"

Fang Zilan straightened her sleeves. "Miss Huo, when the bronze mirror shattered just now, did you smell anything?"

After she finished speaking, she left to find Wen Ran without waiting for Huo Chun'er's reaction.

However, before she could find Wen Ran, she bumped into Xie Chen and Xiahou Mingxun, who seemed to be arguing about something.

"Brother-in-law, you let Zixiu go in front of everyone..." Xiahou Mingxun had barely started to speak when Xie Chen interrupted him, "Do you know who she is? If you don't let her go, are you going to kill her?"
