Chapter 74: Dance Spell and Mandrake
Chapter 74: Dance Spell and Mandrake
After class, the Gryffindor students were still discussing Grover Cecil. This unique theory class had successfully captured the hearts of the little lions. Everyone no longer cared much about his former identity as a dark wizard. He was now one of their favorite professors.
By dinner time in the evening, all the students had learned about Grover Cecil's identity. Their curiosity about Professor Cecil outweighed their fear of his identity as a dark wizard.
There are so many mysteries surrounding Glover Cecil that it is hard not to be curious about him and the courses he teaches.
Everyone was discussing his past, wanting to know what kind of wrong he had done, whether he had conducted some terrible experiments, or killed wizards or Muggles, and who brought him to justice and put him in Azkaban?
The second and fourth grade students have already taken his class, and the students of both grades have praised him highly, which has also made those who have not taken his class start to look forward to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
A mysterious past, a criticized identity, and a flood of letters of opposition from parents. The seemingly imploding start was gone in just one day. Judging from this alone, Cecil was much better than his predecessor.
When they returned to the common room in the evening, a first-year girl ran over to find Ada, Angelina and Alia.
"Hello, my name is Katie Bell. Professor McGonagall asked me to stay in your dormitory temporarily." The little girl named Katie Bell said timidly. She looked a little nervous, and the parchment in her hand was crumpled by her.
Ada had some impression of the girl in front of her. She sat near her at the opening dinner. Ada stretched out her hand in front of Katie Bell, and the nervous girl finally reacted and handed the parchment in her hand to Ada.
After a quick glance, Ada said, "Welcome, Katie."
The three girls took Katie back to the dormitory. There were two large suitcases at the door. Katie went forward and moved the suitcases with great effort to make room for them at the door.
Angelina walked forward and opened the locked dormitory door. She and Alia walked in first. Just as Katie Bell was about to pick up her two large boxes and follow them in, she saw the two boxes were already suspended in the air, slowly floating into the dormitory.
"There are two beds, you can choose one!" Angelina said, pointing to the two empty beds. After she entered the room, she and Alia put away the things on the two empty beds.
Katie, who was still standing stupidly at the door, came in and looked at the two beds separately. Finally, she chose the bed that was a little farther from the door. After she made her choice, her suitcase floated over and landed gently on the ground.
"Although I know Ada is very talented, every time I see Ada using magic, I feel that I am not worthy of being a witch. It is really discouraging." Alia said to Angelina, and then she walked to Katie's bed and helped Katie make the bed.
"It's really stressful to be roommates with someone like Ada. Not only do we have to face her during class, but we also have to see her when we return to the dormitory." Angelina said, "I envy little Katie a little. At least she doesn't have to see Ada during class."
"I'll take it as a compliment, but next time you should discuss it behind my back." Ada sat down on her bed, with no intention of going forward to help. "In fact, you can move in with Patricia Stinson if you can stand her crying personality."
"Then I'd rather be with you!" Angelina said with a smile. She was a very straightforward girl and she couldn't stand Patricia, a little crybaby.
"Can't you just lift your butt and come over to help?" Alia threw a pillow at Ada. She had no dissatisfaction with Ada, she just wanted Ada to leave a better impression on the freshmen.
Katie, who was packing her things, whispered, "It's okay, the seniors can just take a rest, I can do it myself."
Katie Bell's dormitory was temporarily uninhabitable, so she had to temporarily separate from the classmates she had just met, and then she was assigned here by Professor McGonagall. She had just been in school for two days, so she was inevitably a little nervous when facing the senior. "Don't even think about it. Ada even waved her wand to prepare dog food for Garlon. She would not do it if she could avoid it." Angelina said.
General!
Angelina's words immediately put Ada to death. Ada had no choice but to get off the bed and go over to help tidy up. With Ada's joining, the speed of tidying up was greatly improved.
After helping Katie settle down, this first-year student became more familiar with Ada and the other two. Her uneasiness disappeared, and she felt that the seniors were quite easy to get along with.
Angelina and Alia took good care of this first-year student, especially after knowing that she also liked Quidditch, they paid even more attention to this junior.
Ada, the Quidditch master of talking nonsense, did not interrupt the discussion of the three people. She just sat aside and watched the three people with beaming faces, as if she was the one who had just moved in today.
The first class on Tuesday morning was Charms. Professor Flitwick must have learned from yesterday's lesson, so he did not teach everyone new spells right away. Instead, he led the students to review the spells they had learned last school year.
Professor Flitwick led everyone to practice for a while before teaching everyone the spells from the Standard Book of Spells, Level 2. However, he still explained very slowly, as if he was afraid that the students didn't bring their brains to class.
The dance spell is what Ada and the others are going to learn today. This spell can make the legs of the cursed object twitch uncontrollably, as if it is dancing a quickstep. It is effective for both still and living things, as long as they have legs.
This was a very interesting evil spell. Professor Flitwick forbade them to use it on other students. He gave each student a small stool and asked the students to use the stool to practice the dance spell.
The afternoon class was the Herbology class. In the first year, Professor Sprout led everyone to have classes in the First Greenhouse, but this year it was changed to the Third Greenhouse. Compared with the two greenhouses, the Third Greenhouse was much more interesting, but also more dangerous.
For example, their first lesson is about Mandrake Herb, which is a powerful restorative potion used to restore deformed or cursed people to their original state, but its cry can kill anyone who hears it.
The roots of the mandrake grass looked very ugly, like a wrinkled baby. The crying sound of the roots was also very unpleasant. Moreover, when Ada was changing the pot for it, it was not obedient at all. It always twisted its body, kicked its feet, waved its pointed little fists, and even bit people!
With the help of the system, Ada can recognize and identify herbs. She can also accurately describe the characteristics and functions of each herb she has learned. She also answered Professor Sprout's question about Mandrake today, and she also added two points to Gryffindor through this question.
But Ada just couldn't muster up an interest in herbology. She didn't like plants that were difficult to manipulate, nor did she like the greenhouse filled with the smell of fertilizer, which made Ada very disgusted.
So for Ada, Herbology class has always been a torture second only to Potions class. Potions class was only because Snape was the professor, while Herbology class was because of those strange plants and unpleasant smells.
Next year, if Ida chooses to take the Care of Magical Creatures course, she will surely have three times the "happiness" surrounding her. It is still unknown what Professor Sylvanus Kettleburn will come up with. I hope that the content prepared by this old professor will not be scarier than Hagrid's "pets".
If I come back early tonight, there should be updates. If I come back late, there will be no updates.
