The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 497: St. Mungo's Night

Chapter 497: St. Mungo's Night (2)

The Ministry of Magic employee lying in a pool of blood gradually stopped struggling, and as the blood flowed out of his body and soaked his robes red, his life also dissipated in this cold night.

Dana and Matthew stood there in a daze. Everything happened so fast that they had no time to stop it.

The two men shifted their gaze from their companion to Ada, with a look of compassion on their faces. Her dark green robe was not stained with a single speck of blood, and it looked as if she had not killed the person.

What does "why mention that nasty name" mean?
Just because Umbridge's name was mentioned, his colleague had to pay with his life. This was too much of a joke!
Matthew's hand holding the wand trembled slightly. He was frightened by Ada's sudden killing. Matthew felt his throat dry and uncomfortable. He swallowed hard, but it did not relieve his violently beating heart at all.

Dana was also shocked, but he quickly adjusted his mentality.

But Ada's sudden attack made Dina feel a little doubtful. How many infuriating things did Umbridge do at Hogwarts to make a student choose to kill someone to vent his anger after hearing her name?
Ada's eyes moved away from the body and she looked at Dana and Matthew, a smile on her face.

She said: "Look, this person was too careless. He broke his neck while walking. Breaking his neck would be fine, but he also made blood everywhere. He has no sense of public morality at all."

Matthew's hand holding the wand shook even more violently, and a deep fear rose in his heart. The girl in front of him killed someone but had no reaction at all, as if she had just casually crushed an ant.

His colleagues in the Ministry of Magic were ants, so what about himself? An ant in good clothes? Matthew didn't dare to look directly at Ada, who was a person who could fight dragons. Matthew lowered his head unconsciously and lost the courage to resist.

Dana was not as unbearable as Matthew. He narrowed his eyes and stared at Ada to prevent the girl from attacking again. The more he looked at Ada, the more frightened he became. Dana felt that Ada was like a cat that caught a mouse but was not in a hurry to kill it.

Dana thought again of the rumors about Ada in the ministry.

Rumor has it that she was able to kill three adult wizards when she was twelve or thirteen years old, that she was the direct disciple of the dark wizard Grover Cecil, that she was Dumbledore's thug, and some even said that she had fought with the mysterious man who had returned.

In the past, Dana didn't believe it. He thought it was just gossip from idle people. How could someone fight with a mysterious man and survive safely?

Now, Dana has believed it about 80% to 90%. He doesn't know how terrifying the mysterious man is, but he already knows how terrifying Ada is.

"You forget hundreds of things every day, why don't you forget what happened tonight too?" Ada said, this was her last kindness to the two.

She stepped over the bodies and slowly approached Dana and Matthew.

Matthew, who didn't even dare to look up, wanted to nod in agreement. He wished he had never come to St. Mungo's tonight, but he heard the sound of Dina chanting a spell.

"Collapse!"

A beam of red light shot out and headed straight towards Ada.

Ada raised her hand, and a thin layer of light screen lit up to block the coma spell. Then, Ada waved her wand again, and the wand in Dana's hand instantly slipped out of her hand, drawing a graceful arc in the night sky.

"I gave you two chances to live, but you didn't cherish them." Ada said in a steady tone without a trace of emotion, "Avada Kedavra!"

A pale green light lit up, and Dana fell to the ground, staring at Matthew with empty eyes, as if he wanted Matthew to escape at the last moment. But Matthew still stood there, neither running away nor casting a spell on Ada.

Ada walked towards Matthew and continued, "Now it's your turn. Tell me what your choice is?"

Matthew, who was dressed gorgeously, was very young, the youngest of the three and had the least experience. Matthew was very scared, and he felt that Ada, who killed the two in an instant, was the devil, the god of death wielding a sickle in the story!
The night sky was pitch black, the moon was hidden behind dark clouds, and even the stars were invisible.

Matthew clenched the wand in his hand, raised it again, and a few sparks shot out from the tip of the wand.

"Which college are you from?" Ada did not respond immediately, but was curious about Matthew's background in school.

"S-Slytherin." Matthew's voice trembled uncontrollably, "Avada Kedavra!" Green light shot out from the tip of Matthew's wand. The green light was not dazzling. It was probably the first time he used the Killing Curse.

Ada turned sideways to avoid the fatal green light. She said regretfully, "You are the bravest Slytherin I have ever seen."

As soon as the words fell, the green light lit up three times, and Matthew, who had mustered up the courage at the last moment of his life, also died, and his death was worthless. They could have avoided dying tonight, and could have become the vanguard of resisting Voldemort. Even if they fell on the road to fighting against darkness, it was a worthy death.

But they died tonight because of some people's selfish desires, died at the hands of Ada.

Looking at Matthew's body, Ada suddenly said: "No, you are not the bravest Slytherin I have ever seen, but the second bravest."

The streets were still deserted, with no pedestrians and no one coming out of St. Mungo's. Glancing at the three bodies on the street, Ada's annoyance did not subside at all, but instead she felt a little lost.

A waning moon broke through the dark clouds, and a glimmer of light finally appeared in the dark sky.

……

St. Mungo's was still in chaos, with the patients coming for treatment still making a lot of noise, and no one knew that a murder had just happened on the street not far from them.

After dealing with the body, Ada walked back into the waiting area, this time without any cover.

The walls of the information desk were covered with notices and posters, such as "Clean cauldrons to prevent potions from turning into poisons", "Antidotes should not be used indiscriminately and must be approved by qualified healers", etc. There was also a large portrait of a witch with long silver curls, with a note on it:
Delise Devont
St. Mungo's Healer (1722-1741)

Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (1741-1768)

Delis looked at Ada in surprise as she walked in front of her portrait, as if wondering why Ada appeared here.

Feeling someone was looking at her, Ada also stopped and looked at Delis Devonte. The person and the portrait looked at each other, which was a very strange scene in the Muggle world, but it was a common occurrence in the wizarding world.

After just a glance, Ada walked towards the emergency room with ease. Delis Devonte also walked out of the frame from the side, apparently going back to Hogwarts to report the situation.

At the door of the emergency room, Mrs. Weasley and Bill were waiting anxiously. Arthur Weasley had not come out yet and was still in danger.

Ada walked over and happened to meet Bill's gaze.

Bill immediately went over to him, and while keeping an eye on his surroundings, he asked, "Why are you here? Are Fred and George here too? Get out of here before anyone sees you!"

Although the people from the Ministry of Magic left, they might not have gone far at all, and even if they did, they might suddenly come back.

Once Ada, or any of the other Weasley children, were spotted, Mr Weasley's presence at the Ministry at night would become even more unclear.

"It's just me, and I came very early." Ada said, "Don't worry, the people from the Ministry of Magic are not here, and they won't be here for a while."

Bill grabbed Ada's shoulders and asked very seriously, "Esmeralda Drizzt, did you do something?"

"I didn't do anything." Ada broke free from Bill's hands. "I was just peeking in the dark." As she spoke, she walked towards the heartbroken Mrs. Weasley.

Bill stopped Ida again. He looked into her eyes and asked, "You really didn't do anything? Don't lie, Ida. I can help you find a solution."

"No, nothing," Ada said. "Really." She just gave someone a gift and hoped he wouldn't wet his pants.

Bill still didn't quite believe it, but he let Ada go and they both walked towards Mrs. Weasley.

Mrs. Weasley was about to ask how Ada got here when she saw the door of the emergency room open again. The therapist came out and stood in front of Mrs. Weasley and Bill.

He said: "Arthur Weasley is out of danger and we will continue to monitor his condition."
