The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 472 Boring Summer Vacation

Chapter 472 Boring Summer Vacation

The rich aroma of meatballs, the sounds of family members laughing, and the war dance performed by Fred, George, and Ginny made this dark and gloomy house seem so warm and welcoming.

Even Moody's hideous face had a smile on it, and his magic eyes moved in time with the war dance.

The entertainment did not last long, and Mrs. Weasley sternly urged the children to go to bed as it was already late.

Ada needs to share a bedroom with Hermione and Ginny. It's not that there is no extra room in 12 Grimmauld Place, but the other rooms have not been cleaned up yet.

This house belongs to Sirius Black. It is his parents' house. No one has lived in it for a long time. Everything is maintained by the house-elves.

But this house-elf named Kreacher seemed to be too sad about the death of his mistress. He became a little abnormal and didn't do his daily cleaning, let alone maintain the old house.

Over time, Number 12 Grimmauld Place became what it is today, dirty, gray, and full of signs of insect infestation.

Ada stayed here, at the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. However, when she woke up the next day, she found that there was almost nothing going on in the headquarters of the anti-Voldemort operation.

After getting up and having breakfast, Ada thought Moody would assign her a task or something, but Mad-Eye left without even looking at her.

Hey! Are you kidding me? I am a member of the Order of the Phoenix with two flowers and a red stick. How can I be ignored like this?

While Ada was stunned, only a group of children were left on the long wooden table; everyone else had run away.

Moody led the way, even though he was limping; Sirius followed closely behind with half a piece of bread in his mouth; Tonks also ran so fast that she accidentally bumped into the umbrella stand, and then her ear-shattering curses rang out, raising a cloud of dust in the hallway.

Fortunately, Lupin followed behind Tonks. He covered the portrait of an old lady who looked very difficult to deal with with a black cloth. The deafening curses gradually died down and the dust settled back to the ground.

Fred secretly told Ada that the abusive old lady was Sirius's deceased mother, who was also the original owner of the house.

Ada nodded with lingering fear and vowed that she would never provoke the old lady in the portrait.

The old lady's curse words are too dirty. If it is put on TV programs, it must be blocked. People who know it will understand that she is cursing, and those who don't know it will think that it is an agent transmitting information through the radio!

Moreover, the old lady's speech speed was like a cannon, which was so fast that a needle could not penetrate and water could not penetrate. After being scolded, there was no room for retort.

Ada had no idea what kind of person the old lady was when she was alive, but she very much suspected that she had ever practiced rap.

The last person to leave the house was Mr. Weasley, who said goodbye to the children and hugged his wife before walking out of the house at a leisurely pace.

Seeing everyone running out of the house under the pretext of having tasks or going to work, Ada, who was still a little confused, finally reacted.

Although I didn't know what terrible things would happen if I stayed in the house, it would definitely be a good idea to slip away.

Although she had not finished the oatmeal porridge in her bowl, Ada stood up without hesitation. She walked resolutely toward the kitchen, toward the hallway, toward the free world outside...

However, before Ada's long legs took the first step, Mrs. Weasley was already blocking her way.

I want to escape but I can't~
"Where are you going, dear?" Mrs. Weasley asked kindly.

"Uh... I have a mission." Ada lied casually, "So I have to go out for a while and will be back in the evening."

Mrs. Weasley nodded, but she said, "How could I not know? Alastor clearly didn't assign you any tasks just now!"

"It's a secret mission arranged by Professor Dumbledore." Ada leaned close to Mrs. Weasley's ear and spoke mysteriously with a "believe me" expression on her face.

"Oh~!" Mrs. Weasley looked as if something had suddenly occurred to her, but she didn't believe Ada's lie at all.

Mrs. Weasley stuffed a feather duster into Ada's arms and continued, "I don't know about secret missions, but I know your first priority now is to clean the room."

The moment the feather duster was stuffed into her arms, Ada subconsciously grabbed it. She knew that she had been discovered by Mrs. Weasley and could not escape.

But Ada was unwilling to give up. She said stubbornly: "Madam, I am a member of the Order of the Phoenix. I have shed blood for the Order of the Phoenix. I have made contributions to the Order of the Phoenix. I..." Mrs. Weasley stood there, looking at Ada's nonsense expressionlessly. The other children had already picked up their "weapons", walked out of the kitchen one after another, and began to prepare for cleaning the house.

Even the twins resigned themselves to walking out of the kitchen, a mop in one hand and a bucket in the other.

"Anything else?" asked Mrs. Weasley. "If not, then go upstairs and start cleaning."

"No more." Ida said, "but I haven't finished my breakfast. It's not good to waste food. I have realized my mistake and I am deeply ashamed of it."

Having said that, Ada sat back down at the dining table, picked up the bowl of porridge and began to dawdle.

However, no matter how big the porridge bowl was, how much porridge could it hold, not to mention that it was only half eaten... Ada could not escape the chore of cleaning the room after all.

Number 12 Grimmauld Place was just as dirty as Nurmengard. If Mrs. Weasley hadn't spent most of the holiday with the children, it would have been even dirtier and messier.

Every step taken in the rooms waiting to be cleaned would throw up a cloud of dust. Everyone had to cover their faces with handkerchiefs, making them look like a group of bandits.

After cleaning up another nest of dead rats, Ada finally broke down, and she kept saying bad things about Dumbledore in her heart.

It was the old bee who asked her to come back early, but after she came back, the old bee didn't give her any tasks. Could it be that the old bee asked her to come back as soon as possible just to clean Grimmauld Place?

Old thief, I can never coexist with you!

After a lot of complaining and thinking about a lot of random things, Ada's broken heart was pieced together again, so she turned around and joined the fierce battle again.

……

Time passed day by day, and during this summer vacation when Voldemort returned, Ada had a very fulfilling time. Really.

Under Mrs. Weasley's training, Ada is now a good hand at housework, and she has gradually mastered even the extremely difficult task of cooking. Similarly, Hermione and Ginny have also learned how to be good at both housework and cooking.

Life at Grimmauld Place was a bit boring. Every day I just ate, slept and cleaned the room.

Only when the weather is good will Mrs. Weasley let everyone go out for a walk and get some fresh air. But they are not allowed to go far, they can only stroll around the square.

Occasionally, members of the Order of the Phoenix would come in and out, sometimes staying to eat, and sometimes just staying for a few minutes to chat.

This was the most exciting moment for the twins, Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny, even though Mrs. Weasley never let them participate.

As the youngest member of the Order of the Phoenix, Ada also attended several meetings, but the content of these meetings was really boring. They were either talking about giants and goblins, or discussing the Ministry of Magic, which could not distinguish between friend and foe.

There was nothing that could be done about it. It was Voldemort's fault for hiding himself underwater like a turtle and refusing to show up.

Voldemort and the Death Eaters did not take any action, so the members of the Order of the Phoenix could only repeat the discussion to see if there were any loopholes in their defenses and to fill them.

During the meeting, Ada met Snape several times. According to Dumbledore's instructions, the Potions Professor re-entered the Death Eaters and became an ace spy.

According to the news brought back by Snape, there are two reasons why Voldemort did not take action. One is that Voldemort is looking for something, and the other is that he wants to sit back and watch the fight.

Despite his failure in the trial of Harry, Fudge did not stop suppressing and persecuting Dumbledore. He became more and more aggressive, and the content of the Daily Prophet became more and more outrageous.

Ada would not be surprised if Rita Skeeter was pardoned by Fudge one day.

The more trouble the Ministry of Magic had, the happier Voldemort would be. This was what he wanted to see. He even hoped that the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore would have a direct conflict.

Two dogs fight, play off.

Voldemort saw through it, and so did Dumbledore. Only the lovely Fudge knew nothing and was only focused on the internal struggle.
