Chapter 141: Letter from Hogwarts and the Headmaster

August 1st, Ada didn't have to go to the Leaky Cauldron today, because it was her day off, she would take one day a week to relax. When she came back last night, Ada gave Ginny Harry Potter's autograph as her tenth birthday present.

It was a happy thing to receive an autograph from her idol (dream lover). Excitedly, Ginny pulled Ada and chatted with her for half the night, and every sentence she spoke was about Harry Potter.

Ada didn't go to bed until the early morning, and as expected, she stayed in bed. When she and Ginny sat in the kitchen to eat breakfast, everyone was already there. The twins sat there very honestly. They were found hiding in the room to do business by Mrs. Weasley. After being criticized, they would be very restrained recently.

As soon as Ida sat down, the owl delivering the letter came, along with a copy of the Daily Prophet. Percy, who was closest to the window, went to get the letter with a chicken coop on his head, and stuffed 5 Knuts into the small leather bag on the leg of the owl delivering the newspaper.

Percy handed the newspaper to Mr. Weasley and distributed the Hogwarts letters to everyone. Although Ron did not receive a letter from Charlie this year, he received his admission notice.

After opening the letter, it turned out that the textbooks she needed were the same as expected. This year, Ada had three more elective courses, so she also needed to buy "Seeing the Future through the Mist" for Divination, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" for Care of Magical Creatures, and "The Magical Pronunciation Table". In addition, Ada also wanted to buy "Magic Dictionary" and "Magic Symbols".

Fred patted Ada on the shoulder and asked her to look at Percy. Ada looked up at Percy and saw Percy smiling at her right hand like a pervert, as if his right hand had some magic power.

"Prefect, we have another prefect in our family!" Mrs. Weasley looked at Percy's right hand and said, "Percy, do you want any gift?"

From Bill to Charlie, and from Charlie to Percy, the Weasley boys would get the prefect badge as long as they reached the fifth grade. In two years, Fred and George would also be in the fifth grade, but...

Ada turned her head to look at the twins. The twins also sensed Ada's gaze. Both of their heads turned at the same time, and four eyes stared at Ada at the same time.

"We wouldn't do such a thing!" whispered Fred.

"We will never let that thing taint us!" George also said in a low voice.

Fortunately, Mrs. Weasley was happily discussing what gift to buy with Percy and didn't notice the twins' dangerous remarks at all, otherwise the two of them might not see the sun tomorrow.

"Mom, I want to change a pet. Scabbers is too old. How about an owl?" Percy suggested to his mother. He really didn't like Scabbers, the stinky rat, and he didn't want to deal with the puppy Garlon for Scabbers. This was inconsistent with his status as a class leader.

Before Mrs. Weasley could speak, George spoke up, "Mum, Ron is going to school this year too, so he'll need to buy even more things."

Hearing George's words, Ron raised his head and looked at Mrs. Weasley hopefully. He had been looking down at the long shopping list in his hand. He knew that he had to buy second-hand items for most of the items on it, but who would want second-hand items if they could have new ones?
Ada was about to raise her hand to say that she had money, but she put her hand down under Mrs. Weasley's glare. Mrs. Weasley would not take a penny from Ada. They accepted Ada not for money, but because they really liked this sensible girl.

"Go on with your meal, children," said Mr. Weasley, the head of the family. "We'll find a way."

What else could she do? Bill's old robes, textbooks used by the twins or Ada, and maybe Charlie's old wand, which had so much paint peeling off that the unicorn core was showing and Ada doubted it could still work.

After breakfast, Ada and the twins carried buckets to the river outside the village. Instead of continuing to talk about what was at the table, they talked about today's Daily Prophet.

"Who would be so brave as to rob Gringotts!" said Fred. He had no worries about Gringotts at all. Instead, he felt that the person who did such a thing was really awesome.

The news of the break-in at Gringotts came out yesterday afternoon, while Ada was still at the Leaky Cauldron. According to eyewitnesses, the goblins at Gringotts failed to catch the robber, and he escaped with the loot.

Some said the robbers took away a large amount of gold from the underground vault of Gringotts, while others said they took away treasures hidden in Gringotts. In short, everyone believed that the robbers had done something that had been impossible before, robbing Gringotts and getting away with it.

The goblins only admitted that someone had indeed broken into Gringotts, but the robber hadn't taken anything. The Daily Prophet also said the same thing. "Whether he got anything or not, the fact that he was able to get in and get out shows that this robber is not an ordinary person." George rolled up his trousers, walked to the stream, and started fishing.

Ada, who was sitting on a rock by the river, also rolled up her trouser legs. She said, "I hope this man is a chivalrous thief who robs the rich and gives to the poor. When I wake up tomorrow, there will be a big bag of gold on the bedside. If so, I will pray for him every day."

"Wake up and stop dreaming. It's still early night!" Fred and George splashed water at Ada, and the cold river water splashed on her.

Not wanting to be outdone, Ada also went into the river to fight back. Originally, it was Ada fighting one against two, but as the fight progressed, it turned into a melee between three people, and the water fight only stopped when all three of them became soaking wet.

The three of them walked upstream along the river and continued fishing in a different place. Ada was very good at fishing, but she was not good at real fishing. If she could choose, she would rather cast an explosion spell on the river, which was simple and straightforward.

"Actually, I am a little suspicious of Quirrell. He happened to be in the Leaky Cauldron on the day the incident at Gringotts happened. Coupled with his strange behavior, it was hard not to be suspicious." Ada said, bending over. She found that the fish was much faster than her. When she reached out to grab it, the fish had already swam away.

Ada told the twins about Quirrell and expressed her thoughts. Ada felt that Quirrell's timid appearance was just a cover-up and he must have some other intentions.

"It's indeed a coincidence, but it's too much of a coincidence! He went to Diagon Alley and something happened in Gringotts. It's too coincidental to be true." Fred said. Like Ada, he didn't catch anything.

"If it was really him, your rogue thief wouldn't have shown up. Quirrell doesn't look like a selfless person." George was holding a fishing net and choosing a place to cast it. He didn't want to go back empty-handed.

Quirrell's timid character really doesn't seem like someone who can do such a big thing, but a wizard who is frightened by dark creatures like vampires actually has the courage to apply for the position of professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. This is strange no matter how you look at it.

"When school starts, we can use the Marauder's Map to observe Quirrell," George said, "just like we did in first grade."

"I agree. No matter whether it's taught by a professor or not, I'll make sure Quirrell makes all the arrangements clearly after school starts." Fred slapped the water hard. The fish were particularly cunning today. He tried for a long time but failed to catch any.

The three people who got nothing returned to the Burrow carrying the empty buckets. When they walked into the house, they saw Dumbledore sitting on the sofa in the living room. He was telling a story to Ginny and Ron, while Mrs. Weasley was preparing lunch in the kitchen.

"Professor, why are you here at the Burrow?" Ada asked.

"An old friend of mine happens to be free today, and I think you should go meet him." Dumbledore said, "But don't rush, we can go after lunch."

A group of people gathered in the kitchen. Mrs. Weasley, Ron and Percy were a little reserved. They took Dumbledore's visit very seriously. The twins were not flustered by the sudden home visit. The two brothers were still telling jokes and making the headmaster laugh.

Ada and Ginny didn't show any reaction. The two people who were not afraid of Dumbledore lowered their heads and ate quietly. Ada was not even curious about who she was going to meet, because she would see her soon anyway.

"I always hear Ada praise your cooking skills. Today I finally tasted it, and it is as good as she said." Dumbledore said with a smile, "Right, Ada?"

Mrs. Weasley was very happy. She rubbed her hands on her apron and said, "I'm glad you like it. These children usually cause you trouble."

"I like them very much. Each of the Weasley children has his own characteristics. This is all thanks to you and Arthur." Dumbledore continued, "But I don't know where Ada got to be naughty. Thank you for your hard work, Molly."
