Chapter 132 Guessing Loneliness

Chapter 132 Guessing Loneliness

Dumbledore looked at Ada who was thinking. He did not urge Ada, nor did he use Legilimency to invade her brain. He just waited quietly for Ada to give him an answer.

Known as the greatest wizard, Dumbledore is also a superb master of Legilimency, but he would not invade other people's brains or secretly put truth serum in other people's drinks. Dumbledore disdains to do such tasteless things. He can judge whether a person is lying to him through his own observation. This is the ability brought to him by his extraordinary wisdom and the gift of time.

Professor McGonagall also knew about this. In a secret conversation two years ago, Dumbledore told her his suspicions. In the past two years, there was nothing suspicious about Ada. The only thing that could be called suspicious was her incredible talent.

"Professor, I've heard about the explosion, but I don't remember anything about it myself." Ada thought for a while before saying. She seemed to have made a decision, and continued, "The explosion happened on the same day as my accident. The magic riot saved me, but I lost my memory of what happened afterwards."

Ada decided to tell the truth as much as possible. She was still a little worried about the uncontrollable power in her body. She didn't want to disappear unclearly one day in the future. And since Dumbledore asked her about this, he must have mastered something and had his speculation.

Trust is always mutual. Ada still needs Dumbledore's protection and trust for the time being, so she has to keep this trust. Even if she doesn't tell him about what happened back then, as long as Dumbledore keeps investigating, he will always get the answer he wants. Rather than being discovered, it is better to take the initiative to tell him today and leave a good impression.

"I remember Lady Mary said that your temper became much calmer when you were ten years old. Was that after this accident?" Professor McGonagall asked, recalling her conversation with Lady Mary.

"Yes, it was from then on that I grew up as if overnight," Ada said. "People always grow up after experiencing something." She could still distinguish what things could be said and what things could never be said.

Ada could tell others about the accident. Many children in the orphanage knew about it. Ada couldn't just kill them all, right? Regardless of whether Ada wanted to do it or not, even if she wanted to do it, she had to be able to do it. She didn't have that much power yet.

As for how Ada came to this world and the system she possessed, these two things were absolutely unspeakable and were what Ada would take to her grave. A man is innocent, but he is guilty of possessing a treasure. Again, she didn't want to be studied by a group of lunatics.

Dumbledore could tell at a glance whether Ada was lying or not. In Dumbledore's eyes, Ada could be described in two words - immature, a piece of unpolished jade.

Before asking this question, Dumbledore did a lot of research, and Ada was right about that. Dumbledore's research was basically consistent with what Ada had just said, and Dumbledore was not surprised by Ada's memory loss.

"So this explosion could have been caused by an accidental magical riot of Ada?" Professor McGonagall asked uncertainly. The Ada she knew was not an evil person to the core, and she had also been in danger, so Professor McGonagall was more inclined to believe that it was an accident.

Dumbledore nodded, agreeing with Professor McGonagall's opinion. He said, "I think so too. Ada encountered a life-threatening danger, and at the critical moment, the magic riot protected her. But the energy generated by the magic riot was too strong, so strong that Ada lost consciousness directly, and the uncontrollable magic accidentally caused the explosion. This is why Ada's own memory is missing, because she doesn't have this memory at all."

Losing consciousness and being unable to be controlled were two words that Ada didn't like very much, as they meant that danger was always around her. If the facts were really as Dumbledore thought, even if that incident had nothing to do with her now, Ada still felt like an executioner with blood on her hands.

"Won't the people around me be in danger?" Ada asked. This was what she was most worried about. She was even more afraid that the people around her would be in danger because of her.

"Don't worry, this kind of situation happens frequently to young wizards who have not yet entered school. It's just that they can't blow up half a street." Professor McGonagall patted Ada's right hand gently and comforted her, "After systematic learning, the young wizards will be able to master their own magic, and this kind of situation will not happen again. Otherwise, the Forbidden Forest would have been blown up by you long ago." Professor McGonagall was talking about the time when Ada was taken to the Forbidden Forest by Foley in her first year. Ada's life was in danger that time. If Dumbledore and she hadn't arrived in time, Ada might have died at the age of thirteen.

"That's right, and this is just our guess. We are not sure whether this incident has anything to do with you. The magical riot of a little wizard would hardly be so powerful." Dumbledore continued, "Would you like a chocolate frog to calm your nerves?"

"I once had another suspicion, that is the Obscurus." Dumbledore put down the chocolate frog in his hand, stood up and walked to the window, saying with his back to McGonagall and Ada.

The Obscurus is a dark magical force that exists in the wizarding world and usually occurs in young wizards. The Obscurus forms in very specific circumstances: trauma related to the use of magic, inner hatred of one's own magic and conscious attempts to suppress it. Coupled with the lack of guidance and inability of young wizards to harness and control their own powers, this dark parasite is derived.

In ancient times, when wizards were not in hiding, Obscurials were more common, but as wizards' secrecy became more sophisticated, Obscurials have become almost unheard of.

Aida's childhood experiences do meet the conditions for the emergence of Obscurus. Aida was abandoned twice because of magic, and her original self hated and suppressed her own power while in the orphanage.

"That's impossible. Ada is already fourteen years old. Her talent is indeed strong enough, but the way she uses magic is completely different from that of the Silent One!"

Normally, an Obscurus would hardly live past the age of ten. Only young wizards with powerful talents and great potential could live longer, but this was even rarer than an Obscurus.

Dumbledore looked at the dark night sky and said slowly: "Yes, Ada is already fourteen years old, and I have never felt that evil power in her." His tone was a little lonely, as if he was thinking of an old friend.

Dumbledore was still staring out the window blankly. Neither Professor McGonagall nor Ada said anything to comfort him. Giving him some private space was the most appropriate way to comfort him.

Although Dumbledore's guesses were in vain, one's own family knows one's own business, and Ada felt that she was more or less close to the truth!
The original body was most likely the Obscurus, which was why she was able to blow up half the street in one go. Dumbledore was unable to sense this power from Ada because the original body had died at the age of ten, and the Obscurus that parasitized it naturally dissipated with it.

Although there is still a lack of evidence to support Ada's idea, the truth of the matter is not important to her. She just needs to know that there is no power that she cannot control. Ada no longer needs to worry about this power, nor does she need to worry about endangering the people around her. Instead, she feels a lot more relaxed.

After looking out the window for a while, Dumbledore turned around and said to Professor McGonagall and Ada, "Although we haven't figured it out completely, I think we are getting closer and closer to the truth of the matter. It's getting late, and I should leave."

After saying this, Dumbledore removed the magic he had cast, and the voice in the ward reappeared in Ada's ears. Before leaving the ward, Dumbledore said something to Ada, "If there is a chance, I think I should take you to meet an old friend of mine..."
