Chapter 50: Finally able to improve combat effectiveness

After seeing Ryan's puzzled look, Kenway briefly explained what he knew about the Forerunners. After listening, Ryan concluded that these were advanced creatures that had mastered extremely high technology and possessed superpowers. It can be seen that the level of his world is not low, which also indirectly shows that the power he possesses is greater than that of normal people, and he is likely to be a transcendent.

Kenway then began to introduce his world, which sounded like it should be a parallel world to Earth, a world in the Age of Exploration.

Perhaps the safe environment made him relax, or perhaps he had kept some secrets hidden for too long, or more likely he had drunk some wine. Kenway began to talk about his previous experiences.

In order to make money, he had a conflict with his wife, who left him and returned to her parents' home. In order to win back his wife, he decided to go to the Caribbean to make a living.

Later, when he really made money, his wife died of illness, leaving behind only a daughter. He finally realized that what he needed was not money, but family.

So he was determined to create a good living environment for his daughter. Unfortunately, he had too many enemies and he didn't dare to let his daughter come into contact with too many outsiders, which made his daughter even a little withdrawn. He was very worried about this situation.

So he kept thinking about it, hoping to find a place where he could completely avoid his enemies and provide a good environment for his daughter to grow up.

As a result, one day, while thinking about this problem, he went to the beach with his daughter and encountered a fog. After the fog dissipated, they arrived at the Wanjie Grocery Store.

Then Kenway began to talk about his experiences at sea and the battles he had fought at sea. His daughter opened her mouth in surprise, and it was obvious that her father had never told him these things before.

Ryan didn't think pirates were a legitimate profession, but in that era, there was no wanton killing of civilians. Ryan thought it was acceptable. But it was not good to talk about these things in front of children.

So Ryan took out a set of wizard chess and handed it to the little girl Jennifer Scott, asking her to sit behind the counter and play. Then he sat down and continued chatting with Kenway.

As they chatted, Kenway talked about his ship:

"It was a sturdy two-masted sailing ship, stable and fast. It was equipped with more than 50 guns with powerful firepower and iron plates for protection. It was as fast as the wind and as agile as a bird. Unfortunately, it sank in the island of Haiti. Oh, my poor Jackdaw..."

Ryan suddenly heard a familiar name from inside: Jackdaw. He recalled a famous meme he saw on the Internet in his previous life: The Jackdaw that can fly to heaven and earth.

Although this is a special way of describing the behavior of some game companies buying bugs and giving away games, Ryan immediately thought of the world this person came from: Assassin's Creed.

Unfortunately, in his previous life, he only read some articles about Assassin's Creed and never played it. So he couldn't guess what kind of story this person had experienced. But what was certain was that since he was driving the protagonist's ship, he must be the protagonist. The protagonist of Assassin's Creed can only be an assassin, so the one in front of him must be an assassin.

Thinking of this, Ryan said to Kenway a sentence that he had memorized in his previous life to show off: "Nothing is true."

"Everything is permitted," Kenway blurted out in a half-dazed voice.

Then he suddenly came to his senses: "How do you know I'm an assassin?"

"Don't get excited." Ryan stood up and Kenway made a gesture of pressing down with both hands to signal him to sit down, then pointed at Jennifer who stood up in a panic and accidentally knocked over the chessboard behind the counter. "Your daughter was almost scared by you. I just said that this is the Universal Grocery Store. As the name suggests, it can connect countless worlds, and it is normal for some stories from your world to spread to me."

Kenway thought about it and felt that if Ryan had malicious intentions, he would have taken action long ago. So he relaxed and sat back down, then asked, "Since you know who I am, you also know that the Templars are endlessly hunting me down. Although I exchanged a life for my safety, this is actually putting your safety in the hands of others, and it cannot guarantee absolute safety. Do you have any way for me to truly protect my daughter's healthy growth?"

"Don't forget this is called the Universal Grocery Store!" Ryan said with some pride, "This place can connect all the worlds, and I also have the ability to send you to the various worlds connected to this grocery store. I don't believe that the Templars in your world can chase you to other worlds."

"Well, that's an idea." Kenway answered seriously, "But what's the price I have to pay? After all, no one in this world will help others for no reason."

"Everything can be traded, your abilities, your strength, your wealth, your knowledge. You will not lose them by trading with me, you will just teach them to me."

"That's fair. I'm willing to use everything I have to exchange for a stable second half of my life for my daughter and I. But you have to tell me first which world you're going to send us to."

"It's my pleasure to introduce these to you." Because the deal was about to be completed, Ryan looked very happy. He began to carefully introduce to Kenway the world he could send them to.

“The first world is a world in the midst of an ice apocalypse, where you have to struggle to survive.”

"Absolutely not," Kenway rejected flatly.

"The second world is very similar to your world, which is equivalent to the world hundreds of years after your world. But if you go there, you might be able to catch up with the two world wars in your lifetime." Ryan then briefly introduced the death toll of the two world wars.

"I really don't want to participate in the war anymore, and I don't want my daughter to get involved."

"The third world is a very ordinary world, a few years later than my world. It is a completely normal world."

"You can think about this."

"In the last world, there are some resurrected corpses, but humans have cultivated a special plant that can fight against them. I helped that world a lot before, and recently I was informed by my partners in that world that they have successfully recovered a large piece of land, and one day they will completely eliminate the zombies." After saying that, Ryan also showed the plants in that world. Jennifer put down the wizard chess and ran to observe the plants carefully.

After introducing the four worlds, Ryan looked at Kenway and said, "I only have these four worlds here. If you are willing to choose one of them, then the deal is done. If not, you can also take your daughter away. Everything is up to you."

Kenway was clearly undecided between the Plants vs. Zombies and the Out of Control worlds, and he asked for details on both worlds.

Finally, after a long and somewhat awkward silence, Kenway made his decision.
