Chapter 43: Breakthrough
"So. See," Harry whispered, "Snape has made it past Fluffy." Seeing the half-open door, they seemed to realize more clearly what they were about to face.
"I wouldn't blame any of you if you wanted to leave now," said Harry. "You can take the Invisibility Cloak with you. I don't need it anymore."
"Now that we're here, I won't back out," Ryan said. "Don't be silly," Ron said. "Let's go together," Hermione said. Harry pushed the door open.
As the door creaked open, they immediately heard a low bark. Although the big dog couldn't see them, its three noses were twitching and sniffing wildly in their direction. "What's that at its feet?" Hermione asked in a low voice.
"It looks like a harp," said Ron. "Snape must have left it there." "Apparently it wakes up as soon as the music stops.
Just as Harry was about to take out the recorder Hagrid had given him to play, Ryan pulled something out of the small bag on his belt and made a tinkling musical sound.
As soon as the sound was heard, the big dog's eyes began to droop. Slowly, the big dog's barking stopped - it staggered a few times, its knees weakened and it knelt down, then it fell to the ground and fell into a deep sleep.
The sound came from a music box, which Ryan used to practice studying the "Winter House Industrial Manual".
"After this music box is wound up, it can play for three and a half minutes." Ryan said to Harry and the others. "This way we can be more relaxed and free up our hands to do other things."
"This is incredible." Hermione said as she looked at the fallen dog. "The book says that the three-headed dog can even compete with dragons, but now it has been knocked down by a small music box. So what are dragons afraid of? Could it be that an ordinary thing can knock down a dragon?"
"Well, now is not the time to study these issues. The dog will wake up soon. Let's take this opportunity to pass through here."
After saying that, Ryan walked to the trapdoor and opened it.
It was pitch black beneath the door, with no place to step, and no imaginary ladder.
Ryan used the fluorescent flash and looked down, but unfortunately he still couldn't see anything. Fortunately, he had read the original book and knew what was below.
Ryan turned around and crawled into the cave, then he held onto the edge with both hands and said to Harry and the others, "I'm the best at using the levitation spell, so I'll go down here first. If I have any problems and I'm not moving, you guys should go find the professor to save me."
After saying that, he loosened his hands and fell to the bottom of the cave. The distance was not low. Ryan felt that it was at least four or five stories high. Halfway through, Ryan cast a floating spell on himself to slow down his falling speed. Finally, he felt that he fell on something soft. This should be the Devil's Internet Cafe.
While Harry and the others were still here, Ryan smeared the knife with a potion that had an inhibitory effect on magical plants (a little bit was withheld when helping Professor Sprout). Then, using the weak light from the entrance, he quickly cut off a chopstick-sized twig and put it into the crystal medicine bottle he carried with him. Because of the potion, the Devil's Snare did not overreact.
After finishing all this quickly, Ryan found that his ankle had been entangled by the Devil's Net. He immediately shouted upwards: "There is a large Devil's Net laid below, which can reduce shock when jumping down, but you must prepare a spell that can set fire, otherwise it will be troublesome if you get entangled."
As soon as he finished speaking, Ryan saw three black spots falling down almost at the same time. He tried to move to the side hoping not to be hit. But there was still a black shadow coming towards Ryan. He quickly aimed at the black shadow and released the floating spell. Fortunately, the spell cushioned him, so when he used the black shadow, he only felt his arm fall slightly. Then there were two collision sounds, and everyone had landed safely.
At this time, the shadow that had just been put down spoke up. "I'm sorry Ryan, are you okay?"
This should be Hermione. After Ryan made a sound that everything was fine, Hermione's wand began to release strings of blue flames. The vines retreated to avoid the light and warmth of these flames, loosening their entanglement. The plants twisted and twitched, automatically loosening the tendrils wrapped around them.
"Ryan, you should have explored the way first, otherwise it would be quite troublesome to suddenly encounter these things." Ron said to Ryan as he looked at the retreating vines. "But why did you catch Hermione?"
"I'm sure I'll pick up whoever is closest to me." Before Ryan finished speaking, Harry pointed in a direction and said, "This way."
Ryan looked in the direction he pointed and found that it was a stone corridor, the only way here.
In this case, there is no choice. The four people walked out of the place where the devil vines were entrenched and began to walk down the corridor. The corridor was very quiet. In addition to the sound of their own footsteps, they could hear the sound of water drops dripping slowly along the wall.
Ryan even suspected that they might have reached the bottom of the lake. As they walked further and further, a new sound appeared. There seemed to be a soft rustling and tinkling sound coming from the other end of the corridor.
It felt like a group of gold coins were flying around with wings, and they continued to move forward along the sound. Finally, they came to a brightly lit room with a high vaulted ceiling. Countless birds, as dazzling as gems, fluttered their wings and flew around the room. Opposite the room was a heavy wooden door. It completely matched the description of some dungeon entrances in adventure stories.
"These birds won't attack us, will they?" Ron said
"I'll try." Harry stopped everyone, then one of them covered his head with his hands and ran towards the wooden door across the room.
Even when Harry reached the wooden door, the birds did not react. It seemed that they would not actively attack the people below.
Seeing this, Ryan and the others also walked out of the tunnel, crossed the room and came under the wooden door.
When they reached the wooden door, they tried to open it, but neither pushing nor pulling worked. Hermione tried her Unlocking Charm again, but that didn't work.
Ryan took out a palm-length, flat steel rod from his waist bag and pried at the crack, hinges and lock of the door, but to no avail.
Finally, he used the steel rod to hit the wooden door and the surrounding walls. Then he turned to Harry and said, "There should be protective magic on this door and the surrounding walls, otherwise it wouldn't leave no marks on the wooden door and walls."
Harry looked carefully at the birds above his head, and then said, "It seems that we can only open this door according to the requirements of the designer of this level."
