Chapter 391 Week

By dinner time that night, the content of the debate in class had spread like wildfire. It seemed that everyone knew what Umbridge had done in class. Naturally, this also caused a lot of controversy. Ryan saw two Ravenclaw students in the corridor leading to the Great Hall having a heated discussion about the Ministry of Magic's actions.

"I don't know why so many people believe the Ministry of Magic's lies?" Harry used his knife and fork to cut the steak on the plate vigorously, as if he was chopping Umbridge.

"Some people are brainless, some people think this chaotic situation is beneficial to them, and some people rely on the Ministry of Magic for their livelihood." Ryan shook his head and shrugged. "So Harry, you don't need to be affected by these words. We just need to unite those who are willing to stand on our side, or at least keep them neutral. There is no need to work hard on those who are destined not to stand with us, and there is no need to be angry about their attitude."

"I feel much better after hearing what you said, thank you. I will try to stay calm in front of that toad next time." Harry raised his head and thanked Ryan.

"Besides that, the woman wants someone to spy on her," said Hermione. "Remember, she said if we heard anyone say it wasn't safe out there, she wanted us to report it to her."

"Ah, those Slytherins will be glad to join the Toad," said Ron, stabbing his fork into his mashed potatoes. "Life will be much harder for everyone."

"That's obvious." Ryan spread his hands. "She came here to spy on all of us, and at the same time to be a nail for Fudge to drive into Hogwarts to disrupt things. This is obvious, and the first thing to do to achieve this is to win over those students who are willing to get close to him to fight against Dumbledore. Otherwise, what would Fudge want her to do? I think she is likely to organize a small group as a test recently-"

"Okay, please stop talking. I just want to have a quiet dinner now." Harry didn't want to hear about this complicated relationship. "Hurry up and eat. There's a lot of homework to do after dinner."

Speaking of homework, I have to say that the professors have assigned a lot of homework this year as an OWLS student. Ryan feels that at least the amount of homework today is already as much as the usual three days.

"How could Dumbledore let this happen?" Hermione suddenly shouted. Ryan was startled by the voice, and the alchemical quill that was writing quickly on the parchment suddenly jumped forward and drew a long diagonal line on the parchment.

He looked at Hermione and saw her banging the armrest of her chair angrily, the stuffing inside leaking out of the hole. "How could he let that horrible woman teach us? And in the year we are taking our 0.w.Ls!"

"This is a compromise." Ryan said after gently tapping the parchment with his wand to remove the scratch. "After all, the summer vacation has dealt a heavy blow to Fudge. Dumbledore is a little worried that if we go one step further today, we will completely push the Ministry of Magic to the other side. We are already nervous about facing Voldemort, and there is no need to make too many enemies."

"But Fudge has no intention of compromising now. It seems the headmaster has miscalculated." Ron said somewhat unhappily.

"That's because our headmaster, like Minister Fudge, uses himself as a template to judge others." Ginny said sarcastically. "It's obvious that our Minister of Magic's brain is filled with the shit of the Moon Beast. And he thinks that other people's brains are fertilizer pits like his."

This made the students around him laugh. It seemed that most people didn't take Fudge's rumors seriously. "But to be honest, our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is a pure consumable. He changes every year. We just have to get through this year." Ryan looked at the group of students who gathered around him and said, "Okay, hurry up and do your homework. There's a lot of homework today."

Snape's homework was indeed difficult, mainly because Ryan needed to pick out from his memory which knowledge he should master now. He felt that if he wrote down the use of moonstone in making the fragments of Our Lady of the Rose, something would definitely go wrong.

On the contrary, the paper on the Giant War in the History of Magic was easier to write. As a person who already held two crowns, Ryan found that he did have a great advantage when it came to comprehensively analyzing a war.

The second day's workload was just as heavy. In the Charms class, everyone reviewed the Spell of the Spur. Professor Flitwick highlighted this and thought it would most likely be tested in the exam. Naturally, there was a lot of homework after class.

Only Professor McGonagall was a good person. After Ryan made the snail disappear, he was exempted from today's homework. But others didn't think so, because only Hermione was exempted from homework besides Ryan. The rest of them still had to work hard to practice this magic so that they could try it on the snails the next afternoon.

In the Care of Magical Creatures class, Hagrid hadn't come back yet. He was probably still contacting the giants in Eastern Europe. I couldn't understand why they were allowed to leave after the victory. Ryan felt that at least the criminals with blood on their hands should be tried and punished according to the rule of life for life, instead of letting the murderers go unpunished or even giving them the opportunity to make a comeback.

Professor Grubbly-Plank's lectures were fairly standard, for example, today they were talking about the Bowtruckle in the exam syllabus, and Ryan was able to easily quiet down the little creature assigned to their group after using natural magic, and even made it cooperate with him in some poses. Afterwards, he, Hermione, and Neville took this opportunity to quickly draw a sketch of the Bowtruckle.

The last class was Herbology, and as expected, Professor Sprout began by stressing the importance of OwLs. Ryan sincerely hoped that professors would stop talking about this, especially now that every time he heard such words, he would think of the pile of homework. Especially at the end of get out of class, the paper that Professor Sprout assigned made him even more depressed.

It was still cold and damp on Friday morning, and Gryffindor began to select members for this year's Quidditch team. However, today's selection did not go well at the beginning. The Slytherin Quidditch team members and a group of students standing on Umbridge's side sat in the stands and laughed at every Gryffindor player.

After much trouble, Ron was successfully selected. This was not because he was the best, but because the other candidates were either not good enough or could not devote themselves to Quidditch players. Only Ron could devote himself to the sport while maintaining a similar level, so naturally he was selected.

"Congratulations, Ron." Ryan congratulated Ron when he came down from the court. As far as he knew, Ron's condition was proportional to his mood, so Ryan hoped that his support could make him feel a little better.

Anyway, this week's classes are finally over. Ryan silently hopes that this week is just a show of force by the professors. Things will be better next week. Although he thinks this is unlikely.
