Chapter 39 Centaur
Chapter 39 Centaur
Ryan was surprised to hear this because it was spoken by an adult woman, but it was different from the voice of any professor in the school.
Fortunately, being able to speak means being able to communicate, and there is hope of avoiding meaningless fighting. So Ryan summoned up the courage to shout: "I have no ill intentions and no intention of hurting anyone. I can leave the forest now."
"Hey, hey, don't be so nervous. I just want to thank you for helping the unicorns." Just as the words fell, a figure walked out of the jungle.
"Centaurs!" Ryan exclaimed in a low voice, and this was actually a female centaur who had never appeared in the novel. But think about it, centaurs did not grow out of the ground, how could there be only males?
This female centaur looked to be in her 30s, wearing a fine brown leather armor, with a black hammer hanging from her waist. Her horse was white, with a round shield and her bow and arrow hanging on each side of the horse.
Ryan saw that she was not holding a weapon, so he put away the plants as a gesture of friendship.
She walked to Ryan with an elegant step, then bent down and said to Ryan: "Mars began to gradually become brighter. Everyone thought it was a very bad omen and stubbornly believed that God's will could not be violated. But I think that sometimes helping the innocent is our duty and part of God's will. This is why I came out today, and I ended up seeing you cure the unicorn here."
"This is what I should do. After all, for those forest elves, any normal person with ability will go to help them if they see them in danger." Ryan said with his head raised.
"Yeah, what kind of monster do you think will attack the unicorn?" asked the female centaur.
"I'm not sure, but I noticed that the injured unicorn seemed to have lost a lot of blood."
"Oh my God, this is terrible. Could this prophecy be true? But the centaurs' predictions have been wrong before. I hope this one is also a mistake." The female centaur looked up and muttered to herself.
Ryan looked at the centaur who seemed to be in a daze, so he said, "Oh, by the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Ryan; Ryan Liang, a first-year student at Gryffindor College. I encountered some silver liquid while taking a night walk today, and I followed it out of curiosity. As a result, I cured the unicorn by chance."
"It's not a coincidence. Unicorns don't trust humans that easily." The female centaur said, "My name is Betty. I'm from a nearby centaur tribe. I came here to protect these unicorns from the invasion of foreign dark forces. Because unicorns don't trust men, I was assigned to protect them."
"Then why did the unicorn allow me to treat it?" Ryan asked puzzled.
"It's simple. On the one hand, you're still a foal. Male unicorns who haven't reached puberty can still barely accept it. On the other hand--" At this point Betty looked up at the sky.
"I can see from you that a lot of lives are grateful to you. You have saved at least tens of thousands of innocent lives. I can even feel the gratitude of nature that you have gained from fighting against a large number of destructive unnatural monsters, although this natural gratitude is a little different from the one I am familiar with. My reason tells me that all this is unlikely. But I firmly believe that the secrets of you that the stars showed me are true, so it is understandable that unicorns can accept treatment from a friend of nature like you."
At this point, Centaur Betty leaned closer. While looking Ryan up and down, he continued, "I'm very curious about how you did it. After all, our leader has fought for nature all his life, but he hasn't received as much gratitude from nature as you have, not to mention that you have some strange plant helpers who are blessed by nature."
"Well, I have some difficulties, so I can't tell you what I did. I can only say that what you saw was true." Ryan said a little embarrassedly. "It's okay if it's true. I think I can completely trust those who are blessed by nature. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what I saw. After all, everyone has their own secrets." Betty said seriously. "But I think as a student, you shouldn't come out now, let alone be so close to the dangerous core of the Forbidden Forest. I'll send you out now."
After that, Betty took out a big basket from behind the tree and put Ryan in it (don't worry, this is the hay I originally planned to collect for sleeping on the ground, it's very clean.). Then she hung all the weapons on one side and the basket on the other side.
Ryan discovered that the centaurs were indeed a race close to nature. Even when Betty was trotting, she could avoid the dense branches blocking the road and move through the forest as if it were flat ground.
“By the way, what about what you just heard from me about the prophecy after the unicorn lost a lot of blood? Of course, if this involves the secrets of you or your tribe, just pretend I didn’t ask.” After Ryan adjusted his posture while sitting in the basket, he asked the question in his heart.
"Of course this is not a secret. Let me think about where to start. Well, do you know what unicorn blood is used for?" Betty asked.
"I don't know," Ryan said, a little surprised when he heard this question. "We only used its horn and tail hair in the Potions class. I was a little curious, but the book I read suggested that using unicorn blood was an evil act."
"This is because attacking a unicorn to obtain its blood is a brutal act, and the power gained by killing a unicorn by draining its blood is the most powerful, but it is also an extremely evil act," Betty said. "Only the most cruel and evil people would commit such a great crime, they want to escape the laws of nature and continue their lives that are no longer normal."
At this point, Betty shuddered, as if she had encountered something terrible.
After a pause, Betty continued, "As long as you have a breath left, the unicorn's blood can save your life. But this will also be cursed by nature. The blood drinker will have a half-dead life, a cursed life."
"This kind of choice, which is worse than death, can probably only be made by those who are in urgent need of life extension and have alternative plans. As far as I know, the Philosopher's Stone seems to be hidden in the Hogwarts Castle, so -"
Just as Ryan was about to finish his words, Betty put her finger in front of her mouth in a quiet gesture.
"We saw it, Mars became bright again. I think you know what will happen, but please don't tell us, because we don't want to get involved in your wizard's affairs for the time being. Besides, you are still a pony, and you shouldn't worry about these things."
At this time, Betty walked to a path less than 20 meters away from the Forbidden Forest. She picked Ryan up from the frame and put him on the ground.
"I don't want to meet anyone else, so you can go the rest of the way by yourself." After saying that, he took out a small silver ring from his quiver and threw it to Ryan. "You helped the unicorns, so I want to thank you on their behalf. If you have time to go to Greece, there is a Chiron Temple on the island of Crete, and this ring will tell you the exact location of the temple. You can come to my door with this ring, and my teacher will give you the gift you deserve."
After saying that, Betty turned around, flicked her tail, and walked into the jungle.
