Chapter 23: Halloween Boss: Giant Monster
Chapter 23 Halloween Boss: Giant Monster (Part )
During the class, Ryan was surprised to find that Hermione, a standard good student, did not come to class. This made Ryan a little nervous, thinking that the troll was definitely not something a first-year student could deal with.
Fortunately, probably because of the class, Quirrell Voldemort complex could not spare time and could not release the troll. The castle was filled with a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
Ryan asked his classmates in the common room about Hermione's whereabouts. Patil, an Indian witch in the same grade, told Ryan that she saw Hermione crying sadly in the girls' bathroom and refused to let others comfort her.
After thanking Patil, Ryan ran downstairs, through the auditorium decorated with colorful Halloween decorations, and headed straight for the public bathroom on the first floor.
At the bathroom door, Ryan saw Angelina coming out and called her.
"Good afternoon, Senior Angelina. Excuse me, have you seen Hermione in there?"
"Hermione? The first-year girl in our college?" Angelina nodded. "She was crying in a cubicle with the door locked. Some of us wanted to comfort her, but she refused. Are you her friend?"
"I think so. Could you please help me call her out? Just tell her that Ryan is waiting for him at the door."
"Okay." Angelina smiled and turned to walk into the bathroom.
After a few minutes, Angelina brought Hermione out. Hermione's hair was a little messy, her eyes were red, and she sniffled from time to time.
"Friends are one of the most important treasures for everyone. I hope you enjoy your chat." Senior Angelina waved to them and left.
After seeing the familiar face, Hermione's tears began to well up in her eyes again.
Ryan quickly took out a napkin and handed it to Hermione: "It's okay, don't cry. Let's find a place to talk. It's not appropriate to stand in the corridor like this." After that, he pulled Hermione to the nearest empty classroom.
After all, although there are not many people at the bathroom door, there are always people coming and going, and it is always bad to be seen crying here.
Turning the corner was an empty classroom, Ryan opened the door and let Hermione go in first. Then he went in and found two chairs, wiped them with napkins and sat down facing each other (he didn't know how to clean the spell).
Afterwards, Ryan looked at Hermione with red and swollen eyes and didn't know what to say. After all, he had been a bachelor for two lifetimes and didn't have much experience in coaxing girls.
The two of them stared at each other for a minute or two, and perhaps noticing Ryan's embarrassment, Hermione raised the corners of her mouth and laughed.
This smile broke the solemn atmosphere, and Ryan also laughed for no apparent reason.
A few minutes later, the two stopped laughing. Ryan finally sorted out his thoughts and said to Hermione, "You don't have to feel so sad because it's not your fault. Weasley and Potter don't want to hurt others, but sometimes they get emotional and do things without thinking. For example, those hurtful words they said today, I believe they didn't mean to say them." "Then what did I do wrong that they reject me so much?" Hermione wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with a napkin, raised her head and said stubbornly.
"I actively spoke in every class and tried my best to earn extra points for the college. But the two of them didn't appreciate my efforts at all and easily deducted the extra points."
Ryan made a downward gesture with both hands: "Hermione, don't get excited. To be honest, they lost the most points in Professor Snape's class. Sometimes it's just that the professor is biased, and it's not entirely their fault. If you ignore the points deducted by Professor Snape, you will find that their level of deductions is the average level of the whole school."
"Then why do Gryffindor students seem to take the House Cup so seriously?" Hermione said in confusion. "Many students in this house will lose some points due to discipline or academic performance. I will point out their mistakes when I find them, but they don't care about it at all, and even hate me for criticizing them."
Hermione shook her head slightly, and then continued: "The Sorting Hat wanted to sort me into Ravenclaw, but I remembered that Headmaster Dumbledore, the greatest white wizard of this century, graduated from Gryffindor, so I chose here. Now think about it, maybe I am not suitable for this college."
"No, of course not." Ryan wanted to reach out and touch Hermione's head out of his habit of comforting his little niece in his previous life, but Hermione glared back at him.
"In fact, the Sorting Hat sorts students into houses based on their personalities, and then takes into account the students' own wishes. If you are sorted into Gryffindor, then you must have a side that suits this house."
"The Sorting Hat says that students who are sorted into Gryffindor are brave, but I think it's more accurate to say that they are emotionally vulnerable. Harry and Ron are typical examples of this, so I told you not to get angry at their comments. Sometimes they really speak without thinking, and in fact, what you said is not wrong."
"Since what I said is all right, then why do I feel like everyone in the academy is kind of rejecting me?" Hermione asked curiously.
"It's simple. What you said is right, but there's something wrong with the way you expressed it." Ryan said out loud everything he had thought about when he read novels in his previous life.
"From what I know, you have not been very good at communicating with others since elementary school, so you often have good intentions to help others, but others will think of you as a condescending order. I have heard of you in elementary school, but I was often prefixed with arrogance. If the person listening to you is a Ravenclaw, they will think about it privately and know your true purpose, but you can't expect the habitually hot-blooded Gryffindor to think so much."
"Both Harry Potter and Ron are good people in nature, but Harry suddenly went from a helpless orphan to a savior, and this psychological gap may have magnified his emotional side. As for Ron, he has too many brothers and he is the least valued one in the family. In this environment, it is understandable that he would be a little extreme in everything he does."
"So, the comments from an extreme person or an emotional person when they are emotional are not necessarily correct, and you don't have to take them to heart."
After an afternoon of persuasion, Hermione finally let it go. She knew she shouldn't torture herself with other people's mistakes, and she also knew what she needed to change in the future.
It was getting dark, and Hermione stood up after adjusting her mentality. She stretched out her hand: "Thank you for spending an afternoon comforting me. I think you are my first friend in Hogwarts, right?"
As expected, we were just acquaintances before. Ryan stood up and reached out to hold Hermione's hand: "Yes, we are friends."
