Chapter 198 The Guests Leave
"The progress of our research is slower than we thought."
"Or maybe you're moving too fast." The twins said in unison.
"Hey, there's no reason to blame others for their fast progress when your own research is slow." Ryan said with full energy, completely ignoring the fact that he had achieved these things with the resources of a world plus a large number of human volunteers.
Yes, human volunteers. Because of the lack of resources in the wasteland, most people were pardoned for certain things they did to survive. However, some people were not pardoned, and the worst offenders were transported to the academy for human experiments, such as some looters who slaughtered even a few-month-old baby in the settlement, or some habitual cannibals. In short, they were all villains who could not even be called human.
"That's not what we meant, but the data you provided is so detailed that we can even skip some human trials and greatly advance the entire process. The only problem is that the number and types of things we have invented now are far from enough," Fred explained.
"Human experiments? Who are you going to look for?" Ever since he visited the laboratory in the Fallout World Academy, Ryan is now somewhat sensitive to these human experiments.
"It's mainly ourselves, and we may hire some people later." George said uncertainly.
"Not yet. The data I have is enough to support the most unstable part of the research. Only when the final product is finalized will some volunteers be needed, but by then I think the product will not cause much harm to the human body. Wait for me for a moment, I will show you the latest research."
Ryan ran upstairs to get the information. When he came downstairs, he found the twins observing the various electrical appliances in the living room with great interest.
After finding Ryan coming downstairs, the twins coughed, and then Fred said, "We are just interested in the electrical appliances here. I never thought that Muggles could come up with so many ways to make life more convenient without magic."
"That's natural. There's an old saying in the East that goes, 'One can polish jade with the help of stones from other mountains.' It means that we can use the advantages of other things to make up for our shortcomings. I think the wizarding world is too closed now, and it even hinders overall progress." Ryan said as he placed the information on the coffee table.
George took the information and unfolded it, saying, "You are right. Some wizards are simply old-fashioned. They are complacent and oppose any changes. I think this is the reason why wizards lag behind Muggles in development."
After looking at the information for a while, George raised his head and said, "We can now confirm that the Coma Flower Candy and Fever Candy are basically successful, but why did you ask us to reduce the amount of Silver Leaf Sweet Osmanthus in the Nosebleed Nougat?"
"It's simple. Clematis chinensis has a very strong anticoagulant effect. If you use nosebleed nougat in large quantities and multiple times in a short period of time, there is a small chance that it may cause dangerous internal bleeding. After all, we are selling a joke product, and it would be inappropriate if it were dangerous." Ryan shrugged.
"Well, it's not as good as it seems. You're right. If there are safety risks, it would go against our original intention." Fred nodded. "Does the recipe of this Fat Tongue Toffee need to be modified because of safety issues?"
"Yes, we need to change the order of injecting magic power to make the tongue as long as possible instead of getting fatter. Because a swollen tongue root may cause suffocation, which is also quite dangerous."
"What about this spit candy?"
"You put too much bouncing honey locust bean powder. After eating it, I vomited so much that I couldn't get the antidote into my mouth. If you don't reduce the emetic component, the only effective solution I can think of is to take a treatment needle with each vomit candy and inject the antidote directly subcutaneously..." For more than an hour, Ryan kept explaining the various suggestions in the report to the twins. After a long debate, they finally finished the report.
After solving the problems in the report, everyone started chatting, and the topic turned to opening a store.
"Fred and I have always wanted to open a joke shop. After all, the items in Zonko's Magic Joke Shop are updated too slowly, and many of the prank toys are not much different from the products of our parents' generation. I don't think this can bring joy to everyone," said George.
"But our mother would rather we get a stable job in the Ministry of Magic like our father." Fred shook his head and said, "So now we dare not let our mother find out about our research."
"I personally think you should put this aside for now. After all, this is your OWLs year. For parents, the best way to judge their children's status is through test scores. If you don't do well in the exams this year, you will probably have a hard time."
"We don't want to make our mother sad, but we really don't know what to do. By the way, you get all A's in the exams every year. Do you have any solution?" Fred walked up and patted Ryan on the shoulder and asked.
"Well, I see that these things you invented have basically taken shape, but you just lack enough time to perfect them. I will simply find a way to help you perfect these things this semester after Christmas, and you can go and study hard for a semester. After all, from these inventions I can see that your levels in transfiguration spells and potions are not low. If you work on targeted studies, one school year will be enough to cope with the OWLs exams." Ryan thought for a moment and said to the twins.
"Is this too much trouble for you?" the twins said embarrassedly.
"It's not a big deal. It's just like me reading the textbooks for grades one to five and summarizing the key points. This doesn't waste much time for me, but helps me learn. Besides, I have already studied the textbooks up to the fourth grade content, so it's just right for me to look at the fifth grade content now." Ryan said with a smile.
"Well, I don't understand the thinking of a good student like you, but I have to thank you anyway." George shrugged.
After discussing the heavy topic of exams, the rest of the time was spent on Ryan talking about his experience as an exchange student in Brazil. The twins were quickly attracted by the various places in the story that were completely different from the UK. The discussion ended at noon when Mr. Weasley drove to the door.
After the Weasley twins left, the rest of the Christmas holiday was very peaceful. However, because the community library was closed during the holiday, Ryan and Hermione could only go to each other's house to study the nymph's magic book.
On the last day before Christmas, when they took the Hogwarts Express back to school, they finally figured out a key point about the magic book. It seemed that they could start to put it into practice after returning to school. This also brought a perfect end to the Christmas holiday.
When the train pulled into the Hogsmeade platform, Ryan felt a little excited. After being away from school for a semester, he finally returned to the familiar school.
