Chapter 213 Guests Arrive

Although they didn't find anything after studying the Nymph's magic book, Ryan and Hermione were not discouraged. After all, this was the crystallization of a part of the knowledge of a secondary god, and it would be strange if they could find any results in a short time.

After packing our luggage, we walked out of the platform and our families were already waiting there.

After saying goodbye to Hermione, Ryan got into his family's car.

"Dad, why didn't you drive out the sports car?" Ryan was a little confused, because his mother wrote to him that his father now prefers to drive a sports car when he goes out. So Ryan was a little surprised to see his father driving the SUV at home.

After a night of happy chatting, Ryan finally returned to his familiar bed and had a good sleep. The next morning, he was awakened by a knock on the window glass.

Is there something of mine? Ryan quickly put on his clothes and rushed downstairs to the corridor opposite the door. As soon as he opened the door, the cold temperature outside made him shiver involuntarily.

"Here." His father waved his thickly gloved hands to greet him. "I was just cleaning the snow in the yard when I saw this bird fall from your window. I saw it holding a letter and wondered if someone had written to you?" He handed him something like a gray feather duster.

"This feather duster looks familiar." Ryan thought as he took something from his father: an unconscious owl and a letter with the names of Fred Weasley and George Weasley written on the envelope.

"The Weasleys really should change their owl. Errol looks even worse than last year." Ryan hurried back to the room and asked his mother to borrow a basket. He put Errol in it and placed it next to the fireplace, then unfolded the letter.

The letter started with the twins greeting him, and then told him that because they were caught by their mother in an experiment, it was not appropriate to mail them information and materials now. Ginny was going to visit Hermione tomorrow, so they could take this opportunity to visit Ryan and take some things home.

At the end of the letter, the twins asked Ryan to reply to them as soon as possible if he was free.

Ryan took a look at the owl huddled in the basket and felt that asking it to deliver the letter in this weather might really cost it its life.

Ryan's parents welcomed the visit of his friend, especially when they learned that the visiting friend was the child of the Ministry of Magic official who came to their home to guide Ryan before he entered school. After all, Mr. Weasley had left a good impression on the family.

His mother, Sally, said she had always been worried that Ryan might be a bit lonely and have no friends at school, and it was really good news that his classmates came to visit him.

So after dinner, Ryan wrote his reply and braved the snowflakes to go to Hermione's house to borrow her owl.

After ringing the doorbell, the door opened. It happened to be Hermione who opened the door. "Ryan, what brings you here so early?"

"I would like to borrow your Hermes for a bit, as I need to reply to a letter from the Weasley twins, as Errol doesn't seem to be able to deliver letters anymore."

"I know about this. The twins should come with Ginny tomorrow. You can come in and have a cup of tea and wait. I will finish writing the reply letter to Ginny and ask Hermes to send it over."

After wiping off the slush on his shoes on the anti-slip mat at the door, Ryan walked into Hermione's home. The overall style of her home tends to be cool, with the walls painted light blue and the furniture in a similar color.

The grey sofas in the living room were arranged in an L shape with a small coffee table in the middle. There was a fireplace on the wall in front of it, and on both sides were bookshelves filled with books. There were small photo frames here and there, with photos of Hermione and her family.

Afterwards, Ryan sat on the sofa drinking a cup of black tea, watching Hermione sitting at the dining table in the small dining room next to him writing a letter.

"Why are you the only one at home on Christmas?" Ryan asked curiously.

"Since we made some money from treasure hunting last time, my parents decided to expand their dental clinic. Today, the decorators said they found a problem somewhere, so they rushed over." Hermione said while writing a letter.

"You can still find decoration workers on Christmas?" Ryan was shocked. He had lived in the UK for so many years and had never seen workers who could work overtime during the holidays unless it was an emergency, except for house-elves of course.

"These people are your compatriots hired from Chinatown, and your father introduced them. After being paid overtime, they work even harder than my parents. This is a good thing, because I guess my parents' dental clinic will be able to continue operating after the Christmas holiday."

Soon Hermione finished writing the letter and hung both her own letter and Ryan's letter on her owl's legs. Then Ryan took the owl from the shelf and let it fly out of the window. He felt that the owl seemed fatter than when he bought it.

The owl quickly disappeared into the gray sky, and Ryan took the opportunity to say goodbye to Hermione and went home.

The next morning, following the sound of a car, the Weasley twins got out of an old turquoise Ford Anglia sedan and knocked on Ryan's door.

"Huh? Did your father send you here?" Ryan opened the door and let the Weasley twins in, then asked as he looked at the people in the car slowly driving away behind them.

"Of course, our mother is worried about the two of us bringing our lovely sister to London."

"It just so happens that our father has to work overtime today, so we asked him to drive us here. Now he is sending our sister Ginny to Hermione's place, and he will take us back when he returns home at noon."

The twins answered one by one, and Ryan took them to the living room and made a cup of tea for each of them. Today, Ryan's parents went shopping in the commercial street to make room for their son, and Ryan was the only one at home.

"Okay, tell me how far along your research is now?" Ryan asked after everyone sat down on the sofa in the living room.
