Chapter 21 Visiting Quidditch Training

After comforting Hermione, the two read for a while, then said good night to each other and went back to their respective bedrooms to sleep.

The next morning at breakfast, Hermione sat next to Ryan and gossiped about what that thing was.

"It's either extremely valuable or extremely dangerous." Hermione said the results of the analysis as she lay in bed last night.

"Or both." Ryan swallowed the cereal in his mouth and continued (still not used to bacon for breakfast, why do British people eat such greasy food in the morning).

However, without any other information, or even knowing the size of the object, such speculation is obviously futile.

……

In the next few days, Ryan returned to his daily daytime class schedule. In the remaining time, he either read books with Hermione in the library or finished his homework with his classmates in the common room. However, the last night tour was too stimulating, so he gave up the next few night tour plans.

During several walks, Ryan secretly poured the acid secreted by the moss on the tombstone into a corner of the outer wall of Hogwarts Castle.

He found that the acid that could quickly corrode a marble the size of a door panel had no effect on the stone walls of Hogwarts. In his previous life, someone analyzed that every inch of Hogwarts was covered with a strong protective magic, which might be true. It seems that the Hogwarts Castle itself is much more complicated than in the novel. So now it is better to follow your heart.

It wasn't until Wednesday of the following week that Ryan decided to go out of the castle.

In the Scottish Highlands where Hogwarts is located, the sun is almost invisible when winter approaches, and it often rains. Even though the house elves kept the fireplace burning brightly, he still felt like mushrooms were growing on his body after squatting in the castle to study all day.

So even though the sun had already set after dinner, Ryan still decided to go out of the castle to breathe some fresh air while he finished his homework.

After failing to invite Hermione to go out together (I still have a lot of Transfiguration information to look up, and I have an astronomy class in the evening), and receiving a look of contempt from a true academic master, Ryan could only shrug his shoulders and choose to walk around the castle alone.

Since it was Wednesday afternoon, he decided to go to the stadium to watch the college's Quidditch team practice.

After all, he has been in the wizarding world for so long, but he has never seen how this most popular sport in the wizarding world is played.

When you get to the stadium, you'll find it's a huge structure made of wood and colorful cloth, with three golden poles at each end, with rings on top, like the little plastic sticks that kids use to blow bubbles, except that each one is fifty feet high.

There were hundreds of chairs placed high up on the stands, with a few students sitting there. Looking at the stands, Ryan saw Ron's red hair at a glance.

It was good to have someone familiar, so Ryan climbed up to the stands and sat next to Ron.

"Hey, why are you out today?" Ron asked curiously. Ryan was organizing everyone to discuss homework in the common room, so he was popular and had a good relationship with Ron.

"You have to go out for a walk," Ryan replied, then he looked at the players flying around the field and asked Ron: "I don't know anything about Quidditch. Can you tell me about it?"

Ron looked a little excited, because he was usually ignored, after all, he was the youngest son in the family, but he had a younger sister, and in school he was overshadowed by Harry Potter's savior halo. So he was looking forward to others' recognition of him.

"Quidditch is the most popular sport in the wizarding world." Ron cleared his throat and began, "The rules of Quidditch are easy to understand, although it is not easy to play. There are seven people on each side, three of whom are called chasers."

Ron pointed to the players on the field who were vying for a bright red ball the size of a soccer ball and said, "Look, they are the Chasers, and the ball in their hands is the Quaffle." Then he pointed to the golden rings on the field and said to Ryan, "Chasers pass the Quaffle to each other, and try to get it to pass through any of the three rings below. This way you can score points. Every time the Quaffle passes through a ring, you get ten points."

"Of course, each team also has a goalie to stop the opposing Chasers from putting the Quaffle into their own goal. Our house's goalie is Captain Wood."

"Three Chasers and a Keeper, so who are the others?"

"Look, there are two balls in the air that can fly by themselves."

Ryan saw two black balls slightly smaller than basketballs flying in the air, trying to knock down everyone on the broom. However, the Weasley brothers each held a stick similar to a baseball bat and kept hitting the ball to other places (as for how to tell that they are the Weasley twins, their red hair is particularly conspicuous).

"These two are the Bludgers. They fly around, trying to knock the players off their brooms." Ron puffed out his chest proudly. "But my twin brothers are the best hitters. They will protect our players from being hit by the Bludgers. At the same time, they will hit the Bludgers towards the opposing players."

Ryan listened to the loud sound of the bat hitting the Bludger and asked worriedly, "Will this thing really not kill people?"

Ron scratched his head: "At least not at Hogwarts. The worst that happened was a broken jaw."

This sounds dangerous, Ryan thought silently.

"Finally, it's the Seeker. During the official game, there will be a golden ball with wings that is smaller than Neville's Memory Ball. It is called the Golden Snitch. It flies very fast. The job of the Seeker is to shuttle back and forth between the Chasers, Beaters, Bludgers and Quaffles, and catch it before the other team's Seeker. If a team's Seeker catches the Golden Snitch, his team can win an extra 150 points, which means victory is almost certain."

Watching the players flying around on the field, Ryan felt that this sport at least looked more exciting than basketball or football. Plus, there weren't many forms of entertainment in the wizarding world. No wonder Quidditch was now the most popular sport in the entire wizarding world.

Seeing that Ryan seemed to be somewhat interested in Quidditch, Ron, with the joy of successful introduction, began to introduce to Ryan the origins of the players' movements on the field, interspersed with historical stories of famous Quidditch teams and this sport.

It seems that Ron is also a talented person, but his brilliance is usually overshadowed by the people around him.

Suddenly Ryan saw a thin figure flying across the field at high speed on a broom.

"Is that Harry Potter?"

Ron looked at the direction of Ryan's finger and said, "Yes, he is the new Seeker. Tell others about this. He is the secret weapon of our team this year."

"I think the other teams may have known about this. Because when I went to the bathroom after class yesterday, I heard two Hufflepuffs discussing Harry."

"What should we do then?" Ron looked a little nervous.

"It's okay. From what I heard from their discussion, it seems like they don't believe that Harry can fly." Ryan said with a smile.

Time passed slowly during the conversation, and finally it was completely dark. Ryan and Ron waited for Harry to change his clothes and came out, then went back to the dormitory to get their textbooks and went to the astronomy tower for astronomy class.
