Hogwarts Raven's Claw
Chapter 8 Sorting Ceremony
Chapter 8 Sorting Ceremony
"Oh, a roar of incompetence." Mike shook his head with disdain. "Okay, someone tell me what happened."
Harry and Ron came over and explained to Mike the purpose of Malfoy's visit.
Mike chuckled. He actually knew exactly what Malfoy was doing.
Mr. Malfoy came with good intentions this time, but he was obviously a spoiled child. He recognized Harry, but despised Ron. Most importantly, he actually thought that Harry, who grew up in the Muggle world, could understand his theory of pure-blood supremacy, especially under the premise that both of Harry's parents died at the hands of Voldemort, the leader of the pure-blood aristocracy.
It can be said that the two of them are not born in the same camp. Wanting to win over Harry? It's simply a fantasy.
"If he comes again, come to me and I will handle it. I have dealt with many such cases when I was wandering the streets." Mike said solemnly to the two.
"You are so handsome!" This is Ron and Harry.
Hermione's focus was different from the other two.
"What, you were living on the streets?"
"Yes, I am an orphan."
"I'm sorry, I meant..."
Hermione realized she had said the wrong thing and apologized hastily.
"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore." Mike interrupted Hermione before she finished. "The train will arrive at Hogwarts soon, let's change clothes quickly. Ma'am, I think you need to step aside. Also, thank you, Neville, your courage just now is really amazing, you will definitely be sorted into Gryffindor."
Hermione blushed and ran away.
Harry and the others quickly changed into wizard robes, and unknowingly, they all regarded Mike as their backbone.
Mike also changed into the second-hand robes that Hogwarts had given him.
This robe was obviously too small, and only covered Mike's calves, while Harry's robe was tailor-made and covered his shoes securely.
Ron's robes were obviously second-hand or even had been worn many times before. He felt a little inferior when he saw Harry's new robes.
Mike was different. He didn't care if his shabby robes would attract other people's contemptuous looks. He walked down the train with Harry and Ron in big strides.
As soon as they got off the train, a tall figure caught the attention of the three people. Hagrid's size made it hard for him to escape attention among this group of young wizards.
"First years! First years come here! Harry, come here, how are you?" Hagrid finally noticed the three people.
Under Hagrid's leadership, a black lake appeared before everyone's eyes.
A castle stands on the hillside across the lake. Under the starlight, the entire Hogwarts Castle looks like a pearl dotted in the night sky. Compared with it, even the moon pales in comparison.
"No more than four people per boat!" Hagrid led the little wizards onto the boat.
Harry and Ron boarded the boat first, followed by Mike and Hermione. Neville originally planned to take a boat with Mike, but seeing that Hermione got on the boat first, he could only leave with grievance.
Hagrid rowed his boat, which could be sunk at any time, in the front, and the little wizards followed slowly. It wasn't long before Mike felt the majesty of Hogwarts when they got closer.
Unlike when it was far away, the interior of Hogwarts was now brightly lit, and the castle was filled with spires, which was quite stunning.
"Lower your head!"
Mike and the others fell into a state of dementia until Hagrid woke them up with a loud roar.
They followed a dark tunnel to the dock under the castle, and under the leadership of Hagrid, they finally gathered in front of a huge oak door.
On the way, Neville's toad finally returned to Neville's hands by itself, and Neville burst into tears with excitement.
Mike noticed the movement over there and looked at Neville. He met Neville's eyes and gave him an encouraging look.
The door suddenly opened, and a tall witch in emerald green robes looked at the little wizards standing in front of the door. She had a serious expression and pursed lips, and her eyes drifted casually over Mike and Harry. She was Professor McGonagall. "Thank you, Hagrid, leave the rest to me."
She said goodbye to Hagrid and led the young wizards into the castle. Under her pressure, the young wizards who were originally chattering with each other fell silent and followed Professor McGonagall like chicks following a hen.
After passing through the huge castle hall, everyone finally stopped in a small room.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall, "but before you officially enroll, you still need to go through the Sorting Ceremony to decide which college you will study in for the next seven years."
"The four colleges are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each of them has produced countless outstanding wizards, and they have all made great contributions to the wizarding world. In addition, the school holds the College Cup every year. I hope you can perform well and strive to win glory for your college."
"In a few minutes the sorting ceremony will be held in front of the entire school. Before that, I suggest you tidy up your appearance." Professor McGonagall stared at the stain on Ron's nose and turned away.
Noticing McGonagall's gaze, Mike took out his wand and pointed it at Ron's nose, "Clean it up." The stains on Ron's nose disappeared instantly.
Noticing Mike casting the Cleansing Charm, Hermione's mouth opened in excitement.
"You actually learned how to clean it up! I haven't learned it yet, it's really too difficult!"
Mike smiled at her politely and didn't care. At this moment, his attention was all on the white transparent figures that suddenly emerged from the wall behind them, ghosts.
He was very interested in these ghosts. What kind of life forms were they? Did the soul really exist?
Soon Professor McGonagall came back and led the little wizards into the hall.
Mike swore he had never seen such a magical auditorium.
Students in robes sat around four long tables, candles floating in the air above the tables. Looking up, you could see the ceiling. No one knew what kind of magic they had cast on the ceiling, it was as if it didn't exist. The moonlight outside shone straight down, and dots of light dotted the night sky.
"Hmm!" Professor McGonagall coughed and drew the attention of the freshmen back. In front of her was a tall wooden chair with a patched and worn-out pointed wizard hat on it. "I will start calling the roll. Students whose names I call, please sit on the chairs and put on the Sorting Hat."
Mike was a little surprised. This was not what he expected. The Sorting Hat didn't sing!
But he didn't have time to think about it, as Professor McGonagall began to call the roll, and the first name called was his.
"Mike Townley!"
Mike strode forward. He had already decided which house to go to: Ravenclaw.
According to the information from the original book and the information I got in Diagon Alley these days, Slytherin is where pure-blood families gather, so pass. Hufflepuff is where mediocre people gather, so pass too.
Of the remaining Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, Mike chose Ravenclaw.
First, the fighting power of Ravenclaw students clearly crushes that of Gryffindor students. The name of the academic concentration camp is not for nothing.
Second, Ravenclaw, like Slytherin, is also rich in dark wizards. You should know that the literal translation of Ravenclaw is "raven's claws", which means "greedy plunderer". Where did all the books in the Hogwarts library come from? Most of them were looted by Ravenclaw and its students from other places. Therefore, Ravenclaw students are good at fighting and do not reject looting.
This can be seen from their dean, Filius Flitwick. The dean of a school of top students is actually a fighting champion? If Ravenclaw is full of nerds, then he would never be the dean.
In short, Ravenclaw is a paradise for Mike to cultivate his own followers.
Let's go back to the hall. Mike picked up the Sorting Hat. Although it was dirty, he didn't dislike it at all. At the same time, he silently said in his heart: "Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw, let me go to Ravenclaw."
The moment he put on the Sorting Hat, a somewhat funny voice sounded in his mind.
"Wow, you are a strange little wizard. Ambitious and possessing outstanding magical talent, if it weren't for your bloodline, Slytherin would definitely be the most suitable house for you." The Sorting Hat paused, "What? You want to go to Ravenclaw? It's not impossible, but perhaps Gryffindor would be more suitable for you. Have you decided? Okay then."
"Ravenclaw!"
The Sorting Hat announced the result loudly.
Suddenly, the students at the second table on the left applauded loudly. The first freshman of the year was theirs, which was a good omen.
