Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 57 Copy Spell

Chapter 57 Copy Spell

On the last day of July, a thin owl hit the protective spell-bound window glass of number 210 Godric's Hollow with a dull thud.

When Mike went over to check, the poor little guy could no longer move. A roll of parchment was tied to its legs. It seemed that the owl relied on its tenacious will and risked its life to deliver the letter here.

Respecting it as a competent messenger, Mike took the letter off its body and took it to the kitchen by its two paws to prepare to give it a grand funeral and cremation.

Unexpectedly, before Mike could take off the warrior's thick feather coat, the protagonist of the funeral woke up.

This won't do. A funeral should look like a funeral. The water in the kitchen is almost boiling, waiting for the warrior to take off his feather coat and take a bath. How can the funeral go on if he wakes up now?

Mike put his hand around the warrior's neck, intending to make it fall asleep again.

There was actually a collar hanging around the warrior's neck, with a few big words engraved on it: Weasley.

Now the funeral could not go on at all. Mike was not cruel enough to roast and eat his friend's owl.

After preparing clean water and food for the warriors, Mike finally had time to open the envelope.

The letter was from the Weasley brothers, who claimed that they had made a lot of money thanks to McFly in the last school year, so they were planning to hold a party at home and specially invited Mike to attend.

The letter also mentioned that Franklin had been taken to the Burrow by them, and Harry also received the letter they sent, which would arrive soon.

No wonder the old owl looked like it was about to die, it turned out that it had traveled to so many places.

Mike curled his lips. The capitalist qualities of these two brothers were becoming more and more obvious. An owl was only worth a few dozen gold galleons. Was it worth it to let this old owl, whose feathers were almost falling off, risk its life to deliver a letter?
It has worked hard for your Weasley family for so many years. Wouldn't it be nice to let it stay at home and enjoy its old age?

While looking down on the stingy brothers, he gently stroked the owl's feathers. Perhaps because of its old age, the owl was very gentle, and it squinted its eyes comfortably when Mike stroked it, and rubbed Mike's hand with its wet beak, not knowing that this person just wanted to roast it and eat it.

Looking at the owl's still trembling legs, Mike decided not to let it deliver the return letter. If he let it deliver the letter now, it would most likely die on the way.

It’s better to go there yourself.

Thinking of this, Mike told Lolo to take good care of the Owl Warrior, and asked him to tell Professor Flitwick that he had gone to the Weasley house and might stay there for a few days, then turned and walked towards his room.

It's always embarrassing to go to someone's house empty-handed for the first time. I heard that Mr. Weasley really likes Muggle things, so that's great. I can just buy him some random Muggle toys.

Taking out a 100-pound note from his collection, Mike copied it into two and threw it up.

As a puff of green smoke rose, two identical hundred-dollar bills appeared in front of Mike. Mike picked up the two bills and looked at them from left to right. He found that not only were the patterns the same, but even the stains he accidentally put on them were exactly the same. He nodded with satisfaction. Mike brought the Copying Spell from the Restricted Books Section. The difficulty of this spell was not high, but it was not widely circulated in the wizarding world. The reason was that in addition to being a spell strictly controlled by the Ministry of Magic, its effect was too useless in the eyes of traditional wizards.

The objects copied by the cloning spell are no different from the originals in terms of appearance and quality, but in the final analysis, the copies are just fakes with a false appearance.

For example, you use the cloning spell to copy a piece of bread. This piece of bread looks and smells exactly like real bread, but it is inedible. As time goes by, the magic power on it will slowly run out and eventually turn into nothingness. Eating it may temporarily make you feel full, but it cannot provide any nutrition to the human body. When the time is up, the sudden disappearance of the food in your stomach will cause you to feel even hungrier.

But using it to copy money or precious metals does not have this disadvantage. Apart from the fact that they will suddenly disappear, no existing detection methods of Muggles can detect the difference between the replica and the real thing.

In fact, wizards are not stupid. The Cloning Charm was once widely used to copy gold Galleons for fraud. Later, due to the popularization of magic detection spells and the Ministry of Magic's strong control over the Cloning Charm, these practices gradually disappeared.

So, what the goblin in Gringotts said to Mike was correct. Muggle currency is meaningless to people in the wizarding world.

Only good citizens like the Weasleys who abide by the law and wizards who don't know how to use the Copying Charm live a tight life.

Mike came to the living room excitedly with a thick stack of pounds in his hand. He saw Lolo staring at the owl nervously. He greeted him and rushed into the fireplace. Mike's magic power was not strong enough. The pounds copied by the copy spell could only exist for one day. He had to hurry up and spend them all.

Mike dusted himself off and walked out of the Leaky Cauldron. The bustling streets of London appeared in front of him. Mike took a deep breath of the air with the smell of fireworks and shook his head comfortably. He hadn't been back to the Muggle world for a whole year, and even the air that was seriously polluted by heavy industry smelled so good.

The money on him, even the serial numbers, are exactly the same. Mike doesn't dare go to those expensive luxury stores. He can only go to those stores where the total consumption will not exceed 100 pounds.

Fortunately, the value of the pound was still very strong in 1992, and 100 pounds could buy a lot of things.

The latest remote control airplane, Mr. Weasley must like it, so he bought it. What? Only 20 pounds a piece? Give me 5!
Cookbooks? Mrs Weasley would love them. Only £5 a copy? Give me 20 copies of cookbooks from all over the world!
……

The shopping lasted until the afternoon. This time, Mike only copied about 10,000 pounds. However, he didn't spend all the money until the bags of traceless extension spells he carried were filled. There were about 3,000 to 4,000 pounds left. Mike couldn't help but sigh that he hadn't lived in the Muggle world for too long, and even the money he used to be good at was no longer available.

Coming to an empty alley, Mike made enough space and stretched out his blackthorn wood wand.

"boom!"

With a loud bang, a three-decker bus painted bright purple appeared in front of Mike, with the words "Knight Bus" written in gold on the window.

Mike walked into the car through the open door. The conductor in the purple uniform was about to say something when Mike threw out eleven silver Sickles and said, "Go to the Burrow in Ottery St. Catchpole. Do you know the Burrow?"

PS: Please give me a vote! It would be nice if I could also copy the spell, so I can just copy the recommendation vote, hehe.
