Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 13 Magical Perception and Meditation

Chapter 13 Magical Perception and Meditation

Mike lay on his bed in the dormitory with his eyes open. The fire spell that Professor Flitwick had shown him earlier had shocked him so much that he didn't even know how he walked out of the office and returned to his dormitory.

Magic could actually reach that level! It was ridiculous that he had previously thought that casting magic was as simple as waving a wand and chanting a spell. Now that he thought about it, he was completely a frog in a well.

Today he witnessed the power of magic for the first time and finally understood the pride of wizards.

Just imagine, how could a group of "supermen" who could cast spells as powerful as heavy artillery by casually waving their wands treat a group of "mortals" who have no talent and are like ants equally?

Mike even felt that it was a miracle that humans were not enslaved or killed by wizards before nuclear weapons were developed.

The situation of wizards facing Muggles at that time was just like the situation of Americans facing the local natives when they were pioneering the American continent. The power was completely not on the same level.

I believe everyone knows what happened to those natives. They were almost wiped out.

You have to know that the flame released by Flitwick was purple. Mike remembered that his master when he was a "chef" once told him that the temperature of red and orange flames was about 3000 degrees, which was also the most common flame we usually come into contact with.

As the flame temperature increases, its color will change, until it finally turns into ultraviolet light that is invisible to the naked eye. A flame of that intensity is at least tens of thousands of degrees.

Purple flame, although Mike didn't know the exact temperature, it was definitely above 3000 degrees. Flame of this temperature could melt steel almost instantly.

If a mere fire spell could achieve this level of success, then what about the even more terrifying Fiendish Fire Curse? Without the use of a breaking spell, the devil's flame would almost never go out, and the increasingly powerful devil's flames could be as destructive as nuclear weapons in certain circumstances!

Mike longs for this kind of power!

Compared with this great power, my original ideal: to become a superior person, is simply worthless.

Mike was so excited that he couldn't sleep when he thought of this.

But Mike had no idea what Flitwick was talking about when he talked about meditation and feeling the flow of magic.

The first thing is to feel the flow of magic.

Professor Flitwick's intention should be to let him feel the flow of magic power in the process of casting magic, but when Mike cast magic, he always just waved his wand and chanted a spell to make it successful, and he never felt any magic power.

Mike thought that maybe he didn't notice it when he cast the spell originally, so he released a fluorescent flash casually, but just like before, he didn't feel anything.

Now Mike is a bit of a Muggle. In order to increase the power of magic, according to what Professor Flitwick said, one must be able to completely control his own magic power. But Mike can't even feel his own magic power, so how can he control it?
After trying several more times, Mike used almost all the magic he knew, but the results were still disappointing.

Apart from tiring himself to death, he didn't even feel any so-called magic. Gradually, Mike began to doubt his own talent.

Sensing magic might be a talent, just like he was born very lucky. People without talent would not be able to sense magic no matter how hard they tried.

But Mike did not give up. His luck was so good that he could be reborn even if he was beaten to death. If it really took talent to feel magic, then he must have this talent.

After all, good luck can really do whatever you want. Mike began to search his memory carefully, trying to find the so-called magic in the past casting process.

As his memories were turned over bit by bit, Mike once again confirmed that he had never felt the so-called magic power when casting spells. Just as he was grabbing his hair frantically, he suddenly thought of it.

It doesn't necessarily have to be when casting a spell!
Compared to releasing magic in a formulaic way with the help of spells and wands, the supernatural phenomena caused by magic explosions are caused without the help of any external force. So, are the magic fluctuations during magic explosions easier to detect?

Mike immediately thought of his most recent magical outburst, the one at the Leaky Cauldron.

Although Mike was very angry that time and wanted to kill the wizard, he vaguely remembered that there seemed to be a force being released from his body at that time. That feeling was like flowing water!
Having found hope, Mike almost immediately wanted to experiment with a burst of magic, but reason stopped him. If magic exploded in the dormitory, there would definitely be big trouble.

You know, Professor Flitwick had clearly warned him not to experiment with magic in the dormitory. Although Professor Flitwick's tone at the time sounded a bit like a joke, Mike didn't think it was a joke.

Teachers prefer students with good grades and obedience. He had just caused trouble for Flitwick during the day, but that night he ignored his warnings and caused a big explosion in the dormitory.

This would undoubtedly cause Flitwick's dissatisfaction.

Let’s put the experiment off until later. Mike has a perfect location for the experiment: the Room of Requirement!
Mike restrained himself and decided to go to the Room of Requirement to conduct the experiment tomorrow. Although finding the Room of Requirement so quickly might attract the attention of Dumbledore, the old bee, time waits for no one.

As he grew older, magic riots became less and less frequent. Mike used to even need to actively suppress his emotions to ensure that magic riots would not occur.

And in all the days since entering Hogwarts, even though Mike had let go of his control over his emotions and even used emotion casting techniques, he had not triggered even one magical riot.

At this time, Mike was very doubtful whether he could still trigger the magic riot.

But all this can only be known through experiments.

Having decided on tomorrow's itinerary, Mike began to think about another key word Professor Flitwick mentioned: meditation.

Mike knew absolutely nothing about meditation. He had never even heard of the word until today.

No! He remembered! He had heard the word meditation before, from his wife Amanda.

He remembered that his wife was very obsessed with yoga for a while. During that time, she would sit cross-legged on the yoga mat without moving, except for cheating on her damn yoga instructor. When Mike asked her about it, her answer was that she was meditating.

Does meditation mean sitting cross-legged with eyes closed?

Mike sat on the bed just as he remembered Amanda did, but soon he felt sleepy.

His head with short golden hair moved up and down in the air, and finally, with a heavy nod, Mike fell asleep.
