Devouring World Dragon
Chapter 310 God War
Chapter 310 God War
The towering Mount Olympus trembled before the undead monster, and the earth, the sky, the sea, the ocean currents, and even the underworld shook.
Zeus, the leader of the immortal gods and king of the gods, was filled with rage and unleashed his heavy and powerful thunderbolts from the heavens and Mount Olympus.
The heavy thunderbolt swiftly detached from his strong hand, accompanied by booming thunder, flashing lightning, and raging flames.
When the God-King attacked, the life-giving earth collapsed in flames, and the boundless forests exploded with tremendous roars. The vast land, the rivers of the Ocean God, and the barren sea all boiled.
Zeus's thunder and lightning, along with the hot winds spewing from the serpent's nostrils and the burning flames emanating from its mouth, scorched the deep blue sea. The ocean was shrouded in intense heat, the earth was burned red-hot, and the flames turned the forests into barren wastelands.
The scalding seawater poured onto the earth, but instead of relieving its suffering, it only fueled the burning of those inextinguishable flames.
The boundless flames burned all the way to the bright sky, scorching the heavens crowned with stars. Even the sacred stars fell in the battle between the immortal gods and the undead monsters.
Stars fell from the star-studded heavens, their scorching heat crashing against the earth where mortals live amidst a deafening roar.
Terrifying storms swept up everything on earth.
The rumbling of the earthquake and the storm of dust that obscured sight and hearing brought with them terrifying lightning and thunder—the divine power of the great Zeus at work.
Ares, the warlike one, hurled his spear; Artemis, the archer, shot her arrows; and Athena, the wise one, raised her golden shield. Nike, the goddess of victory, spread her wings and soared through the sky, raising her horns and sounding the war cry that shook the heavens, cheering on the gods.
Looking up at the flames and listening to the sound, it seemed as if the world was about to return to chaos, and the earth and the heavens were about to merge into one. Such a tremendous, resounding crash could only have been produced by a god hurling the earth from the sky.
The reason for this earth-shattering collision is that the gods are fully armed and fighting fiercely against the monster.
Even with the combined power of all the gods, they could not defeat this extraordinary enemy.
The enraged monster opened its eyes, unleashing terrifying beams of light that destroyed stars, clouds, forests, and oceans, ravaging everything in the sky and on the earth.
The monster, whose body stretched between heaven and earth, rolled across the land. Its enormous body was so large that even the vast earth could hardly support it, and the earth groaned beneath it.
When this unprecedented enemy goes berserk, even the immortal gods will pale and tremble.
But just then, a booming horn sounded from the sea, its loud blast piercing through the storm and fog, reaching the summit of Mount Olympus.
Hearing the horn, Zeus laughed heartily.
"My brothers have arrived!"
On the vast ocean, the Earthshaker, wielding a trident, along with the other sea gods, rode the waves.
This sea god, who often unleashed terrifying tsunamis and shook the earth, was the brother and ally of Zeus, the king of the gods. Upon hearing the summons of Hermes, the messenger of the gods, he came directly to aid his ally who ruled the sky.
The fearsome god of earthquake roared, the mighty deity raised his trident, and the churning sea pounded the earth, causing a violent earthquake.
The addition of the sea gods greatly boosted the morale of the gods, their shouts shook the heavens and the earth, and a terrifying atmosphere of war permeated the entire world.
The prolonged battle made the monster increasingly irritable. How dare a group of insignificant gods block its way?
They're nothing but food.
But Mount Olympus was deeply rooted in the earth, and the vast land made the mountain indestructible. With this solid Mount Olympus as its base, even with its immense power, the serpent could not subdue these gods.
Seeing that directly attacking Mount Olympus was not feasible, the monster, which stretched for countless miles, changed its mind and began to drag itself across the land.
Its enormous body is immersed in the ocean, causing the ocean to rise and flood the land; its body falls on the land, causing the land to sink into huge ravines and form new rivers.
When the monster's body truly and completely entered this world, it made the world feel crowded.
Its enormous size made it difficult to turn, so it had to wrap itself around the earth in a circle, but this gave the monster an opportunity.
The enormous, magnificent serpent slowly contracted its power, about to crush the earth to dust.
The earth groaned in agony, volcanoes surged from the long-dormant land, spewing lava mixed with poisonous gases that scorched the world. For even the mother of the gods felt threatened by the monster's power.
This, however, angered the giants underground.
"Monster! Get out of my way!"
A terrifying roar of a giant echoed from underground.
Those were the three most powerful children born of the gods of the sky and the earth: Cortous, Briareus, and Gues. They were the most powerful of all the gods and spirits, possessing a hundred arms, and even the god Uranus envied their extraordinary courage, stunning beauty, and towering stature.
Therefore, when they were just born, the gods bound them and exiled them to the dark abyss of Tartarus.
However, Zeus, together with Gaia and the Titans born of Gaia, brought these three hundred-handed giants back from the underworld to the sunlit world. In gratitude to Zeus, the three giants helped him overthrow Cronus's rule and afterwards went to guard the defeated Titans imprisoned in Tartarus.
Now, the giants, who know of the terrible events that have occurred on Earth, have once again come to help the king of the gods.
But it wasn't just these three giants who arrived; Hades, another brother of Zeus, also finally came.
The ruthless Hades, the god of the underworld, sat in his golden chariot, drawn by four black horses, followed by a large retinue of the gods of the underworld, all of whom had come to aid the king of the gods after hearing the terrible commotion on earth.
The gods of heaven, the gods of the sea, the gods of the underworld, all the gods of heaven and earth gathered here.
The incredibly strong, hundred-armed giants arrived on Earth amidst thunder, as the King of Gods celebrated for his allies.
Giants, as large as mountains, trampled mountains and blocked rivers. Fifty strong arms lifted the endless mountain ranges from the ground, and the towering peaks were smashed one after another onto the giant serpent, the shattered peaks falling to the ground as a rain of scattered stones.
But this only fueled the monster's rage.
The monster swung its tail, intending to send the three giants flying. Its tail was like an entire ocean, with each scale so large it defied description. Yet, the three giants' hundred arms managed to block this seemingly unstoppable attack.
The astonished monster became interested, its vertical pupils looking down at the three giants.
"It's been a long time since anyone has dared to challenge me."
The monster laughed silently, and then the immense force from its tail far exceeded the imagination of the three hundred-armed giants. These three giants, the strongest in the world, were sent flying.
However, this tail whip also stopped the snake's movements.
Zeus seized the opportunity to launch a counterattack. After the initial panic, the gods were finally ready.
The wise and great King of the Gods used clouds and thunder as his shield and lightning as his weapon, and drove his chariot.
The gods of attack and counterattack were at the very front of the chariot, leading the way for Zeus; while the gods of terror, panic, and slaughter served as attendants on either side of the chariot; all the gods of the four corners of the earth were driven by this great god-king.
Zeus exerted all his strength, gripping his weapons tightly, and unleashed thunder, lightning, and terrifying bolts of lightning from his chariot to bombard this formidable enemy.
In the horrific attack, the heavy thunder and the sound of mountains shattering and crashing echoed all the way down into the dark Tartarus.
The sounds of battle between immortal gods and monsters soared to the heavens, as spears and shields clashed against scales, and swords and fangs clashed.
The battle was so brutal that even gods and spirits could not escape death, causing their souls to fall into the underworld.
But this time, even the ruthless Hades chose to back down.
He summoned his followers, Death and Sleep, to retrieve the brave gods from the underworld and offer them the nectar and delicacies of the gods, thus reviving their proud souls once more.
The powerful monster was furious, and the flames it spewed from its mouth nearly burned the world to ashes, while the beams of light from its eyes destroyed everything on the earth.
But the immortal gods fought with increasing ferocity and refused to back down. This battle lasted for ten years, until the world collapsed and the heavens and earth fell into darkness.
Finally, even the arrogant and conceited monster realized that he might have overestimated himself this time.
After all, this world was created by the gods, and all the rules and order are in a position that benefits the gods.
In the Norse world, a group of gods and giants helped the serpent; in the world of gods, there was only one god; but now, the serpent is taking on an entire pantheon by itself.
Although I don't think I'll lose, it seems like the chances of winning are getting smaller and smaller.
At that very moment, the God-King, who had been battling the monster for ten years without ceasing, seemed to be pondering something. Then, after escaping an attack from the giant serpent, he suddenly stopped instead of launching a counterattack.
"Monster, why must we fight? Why not try to negotiate?"
Before the colossal serpent, as vast as the world itself, the King of Gods, piloting his chariot, breathed heavily and raised his head, proclaiming loudly.
