Chapter 120 The Ancient Era

Chapter 120 The Ancient Era
Although God banished humanity from the Kingdom of Heaven because of their original sin, He still sent several angels to impart knowledge to Adam and Eve so that humanity could live on Earth.

After Adam and Eve left the White Moon and came to Earth, they eventually had two children, one named Cain and the other named Abel. On a wild and desolate land, apart from the little knowledge that the angels taught them, they had to struggle for everything on their own.

Ultimately, Abel learned to herd sheep, while Cain learned to farm.

One day, God came to earth. Abel offered God meat and fat, while Cain offered God grain and crops. God chose Abel's offering. Cain was angry because God chose Abel and not his own offering, and he killed his brother Abel in the field.

God said, “There your brother Abel is.”

Cain said, “I do not know; am I the keeper of my brother?”

God said, “What have you done? A voice cries out to me from the ground for the blood of your brother. The ground has opened its mouth to receive the blood of your brother from your hand. Now you are cursed from the ground. When you sow the ground, it will no longer yield its grain to you. You will be a wanderer on the earth.”

Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is too severe for me to bear. You have driven me away from this land so that I will not see you. I will be a wanderer on the earth, and all who find me will kill me.”

The Lord said to him, “Everyone who kills Cain will be punished sevenfold.”

So the Lord put a mark on Cain, so that no one who found him would kill him.

After Cain left, he wandered the earth and eventually met a girl, an innocent and naive girl. He fell in love with her, and they had a child named Enoch. They also built a city and named it Enoch.

Adam and Eve then had another child, Seth. Seth's children continued to multiply, eventually spreading across the earth and giving rise to civilization.

Thus, thousands of years have passed.

……

"One day Adam and his wife Eve went to bed together, and Eve conceived and gave birth to Cain. She said, 'The Lord has brought me a man.' She also gave birth to Abel, Cain's brother. Abel was a shepherd, and Cain was a tiller of the ground."

“One day Cain brought an offering of the produce of the ground to the Lord, and Abel also brought an offering of the firstborn of his flock and of the fattening sheep. The Lord looked favorably upon Abel and his offering, but not upon Cain and his offering. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell…”

Inside the grand church, a preacher, holding a classic text, was recounting the history in the text to the crowd and telling them ancient legends. Everyone listened attentively, but among the crowd, a little boy seemed less focused, his eyes wandering and looking around.

The preacher above tried his best to turn a blind eye, but as the preacher's actions became more and more frequent, he finally could not bear it any longer.

Noah!

The preacher, who looked no more than middle-aged, put away the parchment in his hand, looked at the child in front of him, and spoke while showing dissatisfaction.

"What exactly are you trying to do by causing trouble time and time again?"

Then, the little boy, who was being watched by everyone, fidgeted a bit shyly for a while before looking at the preacher in front of him and saying...

"I want to know, what became of Cain's descendants?"

His bright eyes sparkled with curiosity. Clearly, this child, not yet a teenager, viewed the classics as mere stories. However, children of this age are naturally active and obviously not at an age where they can fully comprehend the classics.

The disgruntled preacher was annoyed, but he still answered.

"The classics never say anything about Cain's children."

"Do the learned scholars know this?"

But the perceptive child immediately remarked.

"This……"

The preacher was stumped. Cain was a figure the church was reluctant to discuss; after all, he was a "murderer," a "kinslayer," and "a man cursed by the earth." The preacher obviously wouldn't bother to learn about this sinner. However, the learned scholars, unconcerned about such taboos, might know something, after all, only a few thousand years had passed since the time of Adam and Eve.

A few thousand years is not a very long time for humankind, where everyone has a lifespan of a thousand years. Adam himself lived for more than nine hundred years.

The oldest of the old men was born when Adam was still alive.

"If you want to know, then go ask those learned men; perhaps they can know something."

The preacher shook his head.

"Oh……"

Disappointed at not hearing the continuation of the story, Noah responded with a groan and fell silent. The preacher glanced at him, shook his head, and resumed explaining the scriptures.

……

Meanwhile, somewhere deep in the ocean...

A pair of eyes snapped open, revealing blood-red pupils. "Rumble..."

Pushing aside the heavy wooden plank above made a dull thud, and bright candlelight streamed into the cramped space from above, revealing a handsome, pale-skinned man who rose from the coffin.

Inside the palace-like chamber, the man's body lay naked, his strong, powerful muscles clearly defined, exuding an otherworldly, eerie charm that was both cold and terrifying.

Those who saw him said that this son of Adam was more like the offspring of the dark thing than his wife.

"Your injuries haven't fully healed yet; you woke up too early."

Beside it stood a stunningly beautiful woman, her seemingly calm tone tinged with a hint of resentment.

"I felt someone calling my name."

But the man didn't seem to care. He spoke casually, looked around, walked to the palace wall in front of him, and threw a punch.

"Bang!!!"

The solid wall shattered instantly before the violent force of the punch, and a ghostly blue light shone through, revealing the outside world...

Outside the shattered walls lies a magnificent, boundless underwater city. Various bizarre snake-people roam freely within the city. Towering steam pipes, as tall as mountains, spew out large amounts of steam from the strange metal buildings, while a transparent protective shield above the city protects it from seawater intrusion.

Stepping out, I looked down at the steampunk-style city from the top of the city, the city's vibrant scenery reflected in the cold and terrifying inhuman pupils.

"How many years has it been since my last slumber?"

His calm tone carried a deep sense of terror, and the beautiful woman behind him followed closely behind, then spoke.

"One thousand two hundred and forty-six years."

The man looked down at the city below and said noncommittally.

"You've calculated things quite clearly."

"After all, it was during the days you were asleep, how could I not know anything about it?"

Upon hearing this, the woman couldn't help but laugh and say it.

But the man didn't answer her question. Instead, he looked down at the city in front of him with cold eyes and then said...

"More than a thousand years... more than a thousand years, and you still haven't conquered the land? I am the ancestor of mankind. The people on the land all have my blood and yours flowing in their veins. They use the methods I passed down to cultivate the land and obtain food, but they drive me away as if I were a monster."

"How long will it take to stop this absurd situation? Has your father not spoken yet?"

As he spoke, the man turned to look at the woman beside him, the master of this city.

"That guy won't tell me anything."

When the woman mentioned the "father" the man had spoken of, her face showed a hint of unease, as if she were speaking with disgust, as if the "father" were a complete stranger, which was indeed the case.

Her father never cared about her, and if it weren't for his appreciation of Cain's talent, he probably wouldn't have even met her once.

Cold-blooded?

No, that monster has no emotions at all.

Yet, this very monster—whether it was Cain, the corpse, or any other extraordinary figure—ultimately prostrated themselves at its feet, offering their loyalty to it.

That monster possessed an invisible, dark allure—terrifying, gloomy, profound, and cold—that sent shivers down one's spine. It was a strange charm that tempted desire and seduced depravity, and probably no one in the entire universe could resist it.

She was the only one who could ignore the dark charm emanating from that guy, ignore his words, and even feel a strange disgust in her heart. She couldn't explain why, but she just felt disgusted, as if someone was constantly warning her not to listen to that monster.

"Didn't they say so...?"

The handsome, naked man, seemingly unconcerned, muttered to himself as he gazed down at the city before him, lost in thought.

……

And in the celestial realm above the earth, at the highest point of the celestial realm—the Crystal Heaven.

There are two hands holding chess pieces on each side of the chessboard, and the chessboard is already filled with many more pieces than a standard chess set should have. The numerous broken black and white pieces on both sides of the chessboard also testify to the several fierce battles that have taken place in this game.

(This is a heavily modified world, so please don't mistake it for biblical orthodoxy. I wrote Norse mythology following the original mythological trajectory because the main theme of Norse mythology is "an inescapable predetermined fate," which is difficult to modify. However, Abrahamic religion does not have this theme, so the plot will be heavily modified.)
