Chapter 6 Reversing the Future (Part 2)

Gao He frowned, "You don't seem to be a very good drinker."

I let go of him and pointed at Lin Dan: "Who's that big blockhead?"

Lin Dan was visibly taken aback, but quickly, anger flashed in his eyes: "You eavesdropped on my phone call?!"

I shook my head and said to Gao He, "You've been drinking, you can't drive. If you let her drive, there will definitely be an accident! She was run over by a steel coil that rolled off the other car, and the only thing she said before she died was 'Big blockhead'!"

Lin Dan frowned and stared at me for a while, clearly about to get angry again.

Gao He blocked her behind him, raised an eyebrow at me, and asked, "Am I dead or not? If I am, how did I die?"

I shook my head hard to make sure I wasn't going crazy, gritted my teeth, and said, "You were killed by a fruit knife with a green handle stabbing your left eye!"

For a moment, the atmosphere froze completely. Even the waiter giving change stood there, stunned and speechless.

After a long while, Gao He said to me with a stern face, "Come with me."

After leaving the restaurant, I saw Lin Dan get into the driver's seat, and I grabbed Gao He again, "Listen to me! Trust me this time, okay?"

Gao shook his head, then suddenly curled the corner of his mouth and said to me, "Tell me, if you were sitting in the passenger seat, would you get stabbed to death with a fruit knife?"

My heart skipped a beat: "What will it take for you to believe me?"

Gao He gave a mocking smile, opened the passenger door, and gestured for me to enter.

I hesitated for a moment, then, seeing the mockery in his eyes, I gritted my teeth and got into the car.

Gao He climbed into the back seat and said to Lin Dan, "Take the elevated road from Qingxi South Road."

I grabbed Lin Dan's hand as she was about to light the fire, but as soon as I touched her, she tried to twist my arm.

I understood her intention, so I opened the car door with one hand and leaned back.

Lin Dan never expected me to do something like this. As I lay down on the outside of the car, she was pulled onto me and fell on top of me.

"Hey, hey, let go of them," Gao He said, tapping the back of his chair.

I realized that if this continued, things would only end badly, so I let go first, straightened up, turned around and got out of the car, and shouted to the two people inside:

“If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do. But I still have to take care of my grandfather in the countryside, and I won’t die with you! I can only tell you that the elevated highway exit on Qingxi South Road is closed! The place where you had the accident was the intersection of Jianghe Road and Anke Road!”

After saying that, he slammed the car door shut.

I stared at Gao He through the car window for a while, and as the car started and drove in the direction they had planned, I closed my eyes and sighed deeply.

After calming down a bit, I realized I was truly penniless. Luckily, I still had a credit card, with a low limit, but I could only use it for emergencies.

I decided to take as much as I could and went back to the Sichuan restaurant where I worked. I gave the owner the 1,000 yuan or so I had prepared in advance for the ticket refund.

Although the boss and his wife were nice people, I was detained twice during this period, and the police contacted them countless times. No one would dare to hire me again.

In the end, I insisted on returning the money and refused the extra 'compensation' of wages.

Back at school, I was constantly on edge, wondering if the school would punish me for what happened.

It just so happened that one of my roommates came back early for summer vacation, bringing two bottles of bamboo leaf wine, a local specialty from his hometown. I went to the cafeteria to get some food to go, and the two of us got completely drunk in the dorm.

I seemed to have a very long dream. At first, it was a series of faces, different people with different expressions, floating endlessly in my mind. The one who responded was my drinking buddy, Meng Chao. The one who swore was also from our dorm, Gu Haitao.

His family is only slightly better off than ours, but he finds fault with everyone and acts like everyone owes him something.

The three of us ran to the school clinic, where the doctor on duty happened to be someone I was on good terms with.

The door was kicked open, and several people rushed in. They saw a girl with a ponytail, about seventeen or eighteen years old, lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth and convulsing.
