I'm a magnetic field madman

“I will let you out.” Lacas revealed an evil smile, as if the madman in front of him was not the one who wanted to slaughter him and his kin.
“Our deal can be made, and your wish can be fulfilled. I will give you the vision and opportunity you want.”
"Really? That's great."
Blood Shark grinned savagely, his smile a mixture of malice and pleasure that, surprisingly, somehow harmonized with the extreme, underworldly figure before him…
"Then we will proceed with other research and testing."
Lacas's back slowly opened like a blood eagle, and as a large amount of inspiration potion was injected into his body, he looked at the experimental subject in front of him and smiled sinisterly...
"I hope you can cooperate well with me in this research. The topic of this experiment is the combination of magnetic field rotation and Star God fragments."
"Try your best to hold on, or give me an even bigger surprise."
37. Evelyn
Inside the palace of the venomous tongue conspiracy group, in a quiet and safe room.
A tall, muscular woman with a sharp, beautiful face... and a woman with long, golden hair, an Adarin, are kneeling on one knee before a godless altar, lost in silent contemplation.
She was reflecting on the first half of her life, a life of immense change as an Adaline.
She had never experienced happiness since childhood because she was born in the Ark... and for the Spirit Race, who were destined to embark on the path of cultivation, pleasure and indulgence were absolutely forbidden.
Even so, most of the Ark Eldar could still find a sense of accomplishment and joy in the arduous journey, much like a hermit carrying a handful of water across an endless desert...
Although the essence remains the same—experiencing the pain of scarcity—one can also feel a sense of satisfaction from moderation.
But she couldn't, not at all.
It's not that she lacked the talent to complete the path; in fact, she possessed exceptional talent.
She had once walked the path of a dancer and was able to complete the training to become a war dancer in a very short time.
However, finding no joy or satisfaction along the way, she quickly moved on to the next path.
She chose to become a war witch because she possessed the gift of psychic powers... but even as her eyes pierced through those unending waterfalls to glimpse the truth of the world and felt that sense of omnipotence, she still could not experience the joy that comes with the satisfaction of the unknown.
So she chose to become a warrior, walking the path of a fierce and howling banshee, filling her empty soul with blood and slaughter... tasting pleasure by cutting open the flesh of her enemies and digging out their souls with her blade.
In the end, it only provided a slight sense of satisfaction to her confused soul.
However, she still couldn't find meaning in her existence; she remained empty, like a soul stone adrift in the boundless depths of space.
Perhaps the Ark world that nurtured her was too narrow...
The cold, icy spiritual energy circuits and the crystal dome were like urns for the living, protecting them from being devoured by a great enemy and locking away all desires and dreams.
So she left the Ark world, and also the protection of her birthplace. She left behind her Soul Stone and chose to become a simple pirate.
Perhaps the thrill of life should come from danger. Only by leaving the shelter of life and facing the most terrifying and dangerous fate can one experience the most vibrant joy.
And so, she began her descent into "depravity"...
Experience that fleeting feeling from killing, from plundering, and even from death.
She even became addicted to stimulants because only in this way could she get closest to the feeling of death.
And finally, like every Eldar seeking thrills, she arrived in Comoros.
In a sense, this can almost be seen as a pathetic decline...
After all, if the Eldar of the Ark can be seen as people who tried to save the pathetic and decadent empire but were powerless to do so, then the Dark Eldar of Comoros are a bunch of scum who continue the empire's decadent style.
But this is actually a kind of destiny for the Eldar – the Ancients created them for the purpose of weapons, hoping that they would possess powerful spiritual energy... and thus endowed them with extreme sensitivity and perception of emotions.
This also means that emotions are rich and varied—a feeling that is difficult for humans to understand. It is far more difficult for the Eldar to suppress their desires than for humans.
Their heightened senses and the extra sensory organ they possess make them far too susceptible to being influenced by emotions and to perceiving the emotions of others.
However, she cannot really be considered depraved. Although she came to Comoros, she did not mingle with her depraved compatriots, nor did she join their unrestrained depraved gatherings.
She simply demonstrated her strength and skill in this dangerous City of a Thousand Blades, walking on the edge of a knife, and eventually gained the appreciation of someone, joining the Witch Spirit Cult.
She saved him, and he risked his life for her; to put it bluntly, it was just a simple relationship of mutual benefit.
But this is not the place she seeks; this is not where she should be.
Evelyn, you don't belong here.
She whispered, as a seeker of the path, that she now served Mrs. Males.
Her talent and strength were recognized by the governor when she entered Comoros, and she was protected by her and forced to fight for her.
Three days later will be the Night of Revelation.
That was a distorted name for the night of revelry, and after the great fall of the Eldar, that once decadent feast had regressed considerably—
Today, the Night of Revelation has become a night for many Comorian groups to solve problems and raise their voices.
Gladiators representing various groups will perform a death dance in the arena, risking their own lives to entertain the audience. Their deaths will represent the forces behind them, bringing about declarations and gains.
Marles took such good care of herself so that she would hope Evelyn would represent her in issuing a declaration of power challenge to Victor.
Go and kill the representative sent by Victor, thereby announcing to the entire Comoros the decline of the Black Heart Conspiracy's power.
Victor must accept this challenge, for even the overlord of Youdu must abide by some of the traditional laws of Comoros.
Of course, if Victor's fighters kill Evelynn, the challenge will be dropped.
But presumably, Males wouldn't have suffered much loss at that time. Like all the high-ranking Eldar in this Dark City, she had countless schemes, all of which she used for complex and dirty political struggles.
Can Evelynn win? She has absolutely no confidence.
Because she was facing Lilith Heslapekos. And as a succubus who had only recently joined the Cult of Witches, Evelynn was well aware of Lilith's power and legends.
She has killed a hundred times more lives than Evelynn, and won just as many gladiatorial contests. She is the most dangerous and deadliest succubus, praised as the embodiment of death's elegance, a living muse.
The Comorian nobility adored her, and even the most withered yet noble Dark Eldar were willing to offer her countless "Bloodthorn Roses" in order to draw strength from her savage slaughter.
Oh, this flower is a rare flower that only grows near the arena and the Nightmare Shrine.
Legend has it that they were formed from the blood dripping from Bloodhand Kane's body, and their bodies are covered with sharp spikes, sharp enough to pierce through any thick armor.
When two succubi engage in a gladiatorial duel, their supporters will buy these flowers and throw them into the arena.
These expensive flowers, each worth several slaves, represent the Dark Eldar's delight in the succubi they support...
Once the fighting begins, the air currents will carry these highly poisonous and dangerous flowers and thorns... Fighting and dancing among them will be a great pleasure for the Dark Eldar.
That's really laughable.
Evelyn gave a self-deprecating smile as she entered the Comoros...
She was trying to find her place in this universe that left her feeling incredibly empty—but was becoming Marles's pawn, fighting to the death for her schemes, really the place she was looking for?
As a warrior, one doesn't fight for one's own ends or methods. Because she might not find such a thing.
So, is she going to fight for the cheers and jubilation of others, to please them?
Or, as a Dark Eldar, are you destined to forever wallow in this stage of bloodshed and slaughter, relentlessly pursuing the pleasures of survival and seeking meaning in the cracks of life?
Evelyn didn't know the answer. Otherwise, she wouldn't be here, lost and despondent.
"Cheep cheep cheep, what a devout believer, my dear little bird."
The echoing laughter rang in Everene's ears. She looked up and saw a noblewoman from the Dark Elf race standing before her...
She wore a magnificent black gown, adorned with gleaming silver-white half-armor embellished with sharp, razor-sharp blades that protected her abdomen and accentuated her figure. She held a fan composed of nine sharp silver blades, using it to shield her mouth and half of her alluringly beautiful face, smiling merrily…
“Mrs. Males…” Evelyn whispered, calling her by her name.
Her boss in Comoros, the one who sheltered her in this dark city—and also the one who drove Evelyn into the battlefield.
Evelyn respected her, but also feared her, and at the same time loathed her even more...
“There’s no need for such formality, my dear Evelyn.”
With that alluring yet fake smile, Males affectionately took Evelyn's hand. The cold touch reminded Evelyn of the legends surrounding the lady before her.
It is said that when Males was abandoned by Victor and banished to the Web, she received something from the God of Laughter.
Therefore, when no one is around, she will stare at her reflection in the mirror and let out eerie laughter.
But it's just a legend because no one could survive witnessing Marles's behavior like that—at least not the servants.
But if he saw Marles's crazy smile, he wondered if she would let him go?
“Madam… I’ve heard that this gladiatorial contest isn’t simple,” Evelyn asked softly, but her hollow voice seemed to indicate that she wasn’t talking about her own affairs.
“Of course, Evelynn, of course.” Males strode to the seat next to her, crossed her legs to reveal a glimpse of her snow-white skin, and chuckled softly…
“This night of revelation is incredibly complex, but the ultimate protagonists are still me and Victor—or rather, you and his concubine.”
When talking about her former lover and his current partner, Marles' tone revealed no displeasure.
But everyone knows how Marles would treat her ex-boyfriend who had so ruthlessly banished her if she were to suppress Victor.
“You are the star of this show. You should be charming and seductive, my Evelyn, my little bird.”
Marles gently lifted Evelynn's chin with her fan, gazing at her captivating face, and giggled softly...
“Have more confidence, girl. You’re far more charming than Victor’s pet. Has anyone ever told you that there’s a captivating and dangerous quality about you?”
"I am an assassin, I am no longer a dancer, and I no longer need to pursue the feeling of being obsessed with others."
Evelyn uncomfortably shifted her chin, looked at Males in front of her, and said with considerable annoyance...
She was undoubtedly a cunning villain, a politically astute dark Eldar.
But Evelynn hates all these intricacies... so she'll probably leave Males after the Night of Revelation.
But Evelynn didn't know where she would go. Perhaps she would return to Bieton, to the homeland that gave her birth and now needed her.
Of course, all of this is based on the premise that Evelynn might survive—and in fact, she probably doesn't think she has much of a chance of surviving the Night of Revelation.
Because she had already heard that she and Lilith weren't the only protagonists in that gladiatorial contest...
"So, are you going to back out because of this? Evelyn, just say the word and I'll agree."
Marles smiled gently, her words so beautiful and sincere.
Evelyn had no doubt that Males would keep her promise... but would she really, really be able to back out of this situation?
No, of course not, absolutely not!
Evelyn is unstoppable. On the road of constantly pursuing the meaning of life, she will never run away from or take a detour when faced with setbacks and opportunities.
Even if she could safely traverse this path, she would inevitably regret it later, struggle with the decision, and suffer the pain of wondering if she should have chosen this path to fill the emptiness in her heart.
“No, I will do everything I can,” Evelyn whispered.
"She's such a good girl to me."
Males chuckled and stroked Evelynn's cheek, as if petting her little pet. Then, she stood up and left.
She stopped abruptly as she stepped out of the corridor, and smiled sinisterly and gleefully at the shadows behind her…
“You heard me, it wasn’t that I wouldn’t let her leave.”
There was no answer, but a figure emerged from the darkness—a nightmare.
Wearing red armor that was completely different from the other nightmares, with many different faces carved all over the armor, both eerie and gorgeous.
He is a nightmare, and not just any nightmare. He is a newly appointed bishop, a new power holder in the Nightmare Shrine, and at the same time, a collaborator of Males.
There's no need to sign a contract; this guy won't pledge allegiance to me anyway. But sometimes, cooperation doesn't necessarily require so-called sincerity or alliance.
"Then let me take Evelynn with me!"
The Nightmare Bishop "Thousand Faces" spoke in a resolute, icy voice.
38. The Troupe Arrives
"Dreams and desires are like tangled spider webs. When the desire to prove yourself arises in your heart... the spider webs spun by desire have already tightly bound your freedom."
Males gently waved her folding fan and answered Thousand Faces's suggestion in the Eldar's characteristically riddle-like conversational style.
Evelyn will not leave Comoros, absolutely not.
Because she was an empty girl, the emptiness in her heart was enormous, and she knew nothing about what could fill it.
Marles also had a void in her heart, but she knew exactly how to fill it.
