I caught a Pokémon

From the very beginning at Baidai City Square, to Baidai City Museum, then to the Time Tower in Baiyang Town, and now to the Great Wetland Warehouse, every single time this man has managed to escape.

Having finally caught him after numerous attempts, she is determined to keep a close watch on him.

The three of them, two in front and one behind, walked out of the bustling village and came to the wetlands, where they stood facing each other.

Even without any lights around, Xia You could vaguely see Zhu Lan's face under the bright moonlight, something that had become increasingly impossible in the increasingly polluted city.

Looking at the serious-looking Zhu Lan and her Garchomp ready for battle, Xia You felt somewhat helpless.

Those who know him well know that he is currently focused on his travels and tournaments. Since Kanto, he has avoided challenging the Elite Four prematurely, planning to return to the world after his world tour to deal with these stronger trainers, let alone encounter a super-strong champion ahead of time.

Unexpectedly, this plan is about to be disrupted today.

Fortunately, it wasn't a formal battle between the two; it was just a private sparring match, and it was only a single Pokémon battle, so it didn't count. Therefore, whether they won or lost, it didn't affect their honor.

But this is only Xia You's perspective.

Zhu Lan had no idea about Xia You's plan. In her view, this was a serious battle, and the person she sent out was her strongest and most trusted partner!

Seemingly sensing its trainer's thoughts, or perhaps feeling a powerful sense of pressure from its opponent, Garchomp lowered its head, its eyes fixed on Charizard.

In contrast, Charizard raised its face and looked down at its opponent with a mocking gaze.

Charizard, the king of the dragons, never yields to its opponents!

Yami first looked at Xia You, then at Zhu Lan, and finally cautiously asked, "Um... should I say 'start'?"

Zhu Lan completely ignored her and instead took out a lipstick from her bosom!

This also greatly surprised Yami.

Why does she need to put on makeup before a fight?!

However, under the moonlight, her eyes were immediately drawn to a round, radiant 'gem' on the lipstick base.

Eh?

That is...?

Xia You's eyebrows twitched the moment she saw the lipstick.

Sinnoh's audience might not know this, but he does!

Isn't that exactly the animation Cyndaquil makes during Mega Evolution?!

isn't it...

He's going to fight himself to the death right from the start!?

Chapter 1051 Xia You vs. Zhu Lan

She twisted off the lipstick and smeared it across her lower lip.

"I will defeat you with all my might!"

Xia You smiled bitterly to herself.

Actually... even if you hadn't said it, I knew you were serious...

As Zhu Lan finished speaking, she gently pressed the key stone on her lipstick, and instantly, a dazzling yellow light shone from the key stone.

"Garuda, Mega Evolution!!"

Zhu Lan raised the hand holding the lipstick, and the next second, the Garchomp standing in front of her was enveloped in a dazzling light. After the light flashed, a new form, stronger and more ferocious than the previous Garchomp, appeared before Xia You.

Super Garchomp makes its dazzling debut!

Speaking of which, Garchomp's appearance is very similar to that of a hammerhead shark. Its body is dark blue, with two protrusions on its head, an inverted five-pointed star-shaped yellow spot on the tip of its nose, sharp teeth in its mouth, two white bony spines on its upper arm and thigh, and wings on its forearms, similar to shark pectoral fins, making it look majestic.

Mega Garchomp looks even more robust, with the yellow skin on its lower abdomen extending upwards to form an inverted triangle-like protrusion. Five pairs of white bone spikes grow on its sides, and a pair of red spikes grow on its knees. Perhaps due to excess energy, Mega Garchomp's hands and wings melt and turn into huge scythes!

It looks more aggressive!

Just like its name suggests, Garchomp is a Dragon/Ground Pokémon that does not live in water, but rather in the mountains of volcanic areas.

The two protrusions on its head act as sensors, allowing it to sense the appearance of prey even far in front of it. It is wild and must be guarded when facing it. It can fly into the sky at a speed comparable to a jet plane to find its prey. Once it has its eyes on it, there is nowhere to escape. The sight of it soaring through the sky at a speed that cannot be followed by the naked eye is breathtaking. The small and sharp scales on its body can not only reduce air resistance, but also injure its attackers.

Mega-evolved Garchomp has an even more aggressive personality than its pre-evolution. Its proud wings have turned into scythes, and its temper has become extremely violent. When enraged, it will wreak havoc everywhere, wielding its scythes to shred the earth and cut its enemies to pieces.

It's already an ace Pokémon, and it immediately Mega Evolved upon entering the battle. It seems that Cynthia really intends to compete with me here.

but……

Is this really a good idea when facing Charizard?

And should I... also Mega Evolve and join in the fun?

After thinking about it, he decided to give up on the plan.

The fact that she can Mega Evolve is unknown to most people except for a few individuals, and it has never been shown to the public. Therefore, from Cynthia's perspective, she does not know that she can Mega Evolve, which is an information asymmetry.

It seems she knew she was extremely powerful, which is why she Mega Evolved, hoping to use even greater power to deal with me.

It's simply because they don't want anything to go wrong.

From this perspective, she really did want to teach herself a lesson, just as she said.

But Xia You still didn't intend to do that.

Certainly, undergoing a super evolution alongside Cyndaquil would certainly demonstrate one's power and make the woman in front of him even more surprised, but doing so wouldn't be of much significance.

Don't forget what the purpose of this battle is.

Making an enemy of a Sinnoh champion would be extremely unwise.

Xia You hoped that this encounter would allow Zhu Lan to vent her anger and restore their relationship to normal, rather than actually wanting to defeat Zhu Lan.

He was also trying to find a way to save face for Zhu Lan.

If it were to undergo a super evolution along with the others, it would undoubtedly intensify the stimulation on Bamboo Orchid, which would completely contradict Xia You's original intention.

Thinking of this, he did nothing.

Charizard, of course, didn't understand these intricacies. It simply turned around and glanced at its trainer in surprise when it saw that the other trainer remained unmoved after Mega Evolution.

Seeing that Xia You simply nodded slightly, Charizard understood what was going on. It knew that Xia You wanted it to fight this land shark using its raw strength!

When it turned its head to look at the Mega Garchomp in front of it again, its eyes were full of fighting spirit.

Even though there was a difference in evolution level, as the newly crowned king of the Charizard Canyon, it didn't care at all!

We fight the strong!

Little did Xia You know, her little scheme did not escape Zhu Lan's notice.

Cynthia had been secretly observing and sizing up this top-tier powerhouse who possessed Rayquaza and Deoxys.

Although she desperately wanted to teach the man in front of her a lesson, this urgency did not make her lose her mind.

"It's quite surprising that you didn't show any surprise at all when you saw this new form."

Hearing her say that, Xia You realized that her reaction when she saw the Mega Garchomp seemed to have been too calm.

It must have made Zhu Lan feel very unfulfilled...

Xia You shrugged and said, "Actually, if you knew me a little more, you would know that I am a trainer who started my journey from the Kalos region. Although regions like Sinnoh and Hoenn don't know much about Mega Evolution, Kalos... is the place where Mega Evolution is most prevalent."

"I see." Zhu Lan nodded, then looked at him meaningfully. "So, you can also undergo Mega Evolution, right?"

As expected of the champion...

Your brain is so quick!

Thinking about it, it makes sense. Since I have some understanding of super evolution, then no matter how I think about it... it seems that this power is not unfamiliar to me.

But it's still not a good answer.

If I say no, then I'm deceiving Zhu Lan, and once she finds out, she'll definitely add another charge against me.

If evolution is possible, then if she pretends not to see Zhu Lan after she has already made her move, wouldn't that mean Zhu Lan doesn't take her seriously?

Ugh……

Being a man is really hard!

Xia You shook her head noncommittally and said nothing more.

Since saying anything is wrong anyway, it's better to say nothing and just do something.

With that thought, he waved his hand, and Charizard launched an attack on Mega Garchomp!

Whoosh—Bang!

Fireworks exploded in the direction of the village, their brilliant light briefly illuminating the darkness.

Seeing that Charizard had already launched an attack, even though Cynthia wasn't sure whether Xia You could or couldn't, she still focused her attention on the battle.

Cynthia dared not be careless in the face of the man and his Pokémon.

A great reputation is well-deserved, especially for a regional champion who emerged victorious through a series of matches across three different regions. Anyone who dares to underestimate him is truly foolish.

This fire-breathing dragon, in particular, doesn't look like a simple little guy!

At Cynthia's command, Mega Garchomp also charged towards Charizard.

However, before they could even get close, they had already exchanged a round of skills.

As a probing move, Charizard flapped its wings and flew high into the air, then used Flamethrower to cover a large area in front of Mega Garchomp, attempting to force Mega Garchomp to reposition itself.

The raging fire illuminated the night with a crimson glow.

The intense heat of the fire forced Yami to take a few steps back before she felt the wave of heat hitting her face cool down a bit.

Under such an offensive, Mega Garchomp chose to fight back head-on. It also spewed dragon breath, passing through the scattered flames. The blue-green energy pierced through the flames and shot towards the Charizard in the air.

The two attacks, one orange and one blue, burst into dazzling light under the night sky, completely rivaling the festival scene on the other side.

However, with such an attack at such a distance, it was unrealistic to expect to hit the opponent. Charizard simply raised its height slightly and dodged the dragon breath.

Then, Mega Garchomp leaped into the air, dodging Flamethrower while engaging Charizard in battle.

The real battle has begun!

Chapter 1052 Always One Step Behind

This was Xia You's first battle against a Mega Pokémon, making it a very valuable experience for him.

Especially considering that its owner is a top trainer like Cynthia!

Now that I have this opportunity, I can test my 'King' Charizard and see how it compares to other powerful creatures.

In the blink of an eye, the two Pokémon collided in mid-air.

The energy they emitted converged high in the sky, and with a violent explosion, half the sky turned orange and the other half turned blue.

Such a change would likely attract the attention of many people, even if a festival was being held in the village.

In terms of physical attributes, or base stats, Charizard was already inferior to Garchomp, not to mention that the latter's Mega Evolution further boosted its physical abilities.

Moreover, as Cyndaquil's ace, Garchomp is absolutely top-notch in terms of experience, strength, and reaction.

Based on this, it seems that the Mega Garchomp has a better chance of winning.

But in this amazing world, these are not the only factors that determine victory or defeat.

Xia You's Charizard was forged step by step, fighting its way through the layers of the Charizard Canyon!

Although that place is a gathering place for wild Charizards, even Ash's Charizard can only be at the bottom, which shows how strong they really are!

Not to mention, after being systematically trained by a trainer, Xia You's Charizard is a perfect combination of reason and instinct, with unprecedented strength. Even when facing legendary Pokémon, it can still defeat them.

Isn't it just a matter of head-on confrontation?

There's nothing to worry about!

Most importantly, under such darkness, with both Pokémon high in the sky, the visibility of Nyanko-sensei and Cynthia on the ground was very low, and their voices could not travel, so the guidance and help they could give to the Pokémon was very limited.

And this...

This is what Xia You and his Pokémon are best at during this period.

In short, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Because of the great distance, even with the bright moonlight, Xia You still couldn't see the situation on the battlefield very clearly.
