I caught a Pokémon

As the clock struck nine, the floating commentary platform appeared on the field, and the host's passionate voice echoed in the ears of the audience.

"As you all know, a highly anticipated challenge match will be held at the Battle Dome today! The defending champion, needless to say, is none other than our Dome Superstar – Shi Nan! And the challenger is equally formidable, none other than Xia You, the champion of the last Quartz Tournament, the champion of the last Silver Tournament, and the champion of this year's Rainbow Tournament!!"

The audience erupted in cheers, and even the cameras started spinning wildly.

Seemingly satisfied with the result, the host paused for a moment before continuing, "Both contestants are undoubtedly top-tier in the Kanto region in terms of both skill and popularity. So, who will prevail when they meet today? Alright, without further ado, let's take a look at the highlights of both contestants!"

As he finished speaking, the entire hall screen went black, and at the same time, the large screen next to him began to play many of Xia You's wonderful performances at the conference. After Xia You's highlights ended, the screen on the opposite side also played some of Shi Nan's highlights in the battle against the giant dome.

With the upbeat music and the editing, it's pretty good and has a really exciting feel to it!

However, compared to Xia You's compilation, Shi Nan's videos seem to be more exciting.

It's clear that these people who are fighting against the giant dome are really trying their best to put Shi Nan and Xia You on the same level. Even though he is just a pioneering brain, their propaganda makes it seem like he is on par with the tournament champion.

The audience, unaware of the details, only knew that today's battle would be evenly matched and exciting, and responded enthusiastically.

After the symposium ended, as the spotlights focused and the elevator rose, Xia You's figure slowly appeared before everyone's eyes.

Faced with the cheers from all around, he remained relaxed and composed, then waved lightly to the crowd as a greeting. Even so, the cheers were still deafening, demonstrating Xia You's popularity.

But compared to him, Heather's appearance was much more exaggerated.

The venue was first illuminated with colorful lights, then flower petals rained down from the sky, and amidst this spectacle, Shi Nan, dressed in an extravagant outfit, made her entrance on a swing!

He swung in the air a dozen times, then leaped high and landed steadily in the center of the field. The moment the spotlight focused on him, Shi Nan bent down, like a superstar, and gave the crowd a bright smile and a deep bow.

It was clear that his entrance was carefully planned, and his performance naturally won him a standing ovation from the audience.

But when Shi Nan raised his head and looked at Xia You for the first time, he found that the man's expression was the same as always, and had not changed at all because of his appearance.

This made him frown and feel unhappy.

After all, in his eyes, he and Xia You were 'evenly matched' opponents, so why was he so indifferent to him?

This also thwarted his plan to have a face-to-face conversation with Xia You and present a picture of mutual appreciation and lively banter to the audience.

Moreover, he had a feeling that there was something... unfriendly in the man's eyes!

This made Shi Nan even more uncomfortable, but he didn't take it to heart. After all, in his view, this man was just a prop. Since he couldn't communicate with him, he just needed to make him play his proper role.

However, we still have to say the polite words.

"Xia You," he laughed loudly, "Welcome to the Battle Dome, and I look forward to seeing you deliver a brilliant performance that lives up to the title of 'Symbol of Tactics'!"

The tactical symbol he mentioned was naturally the badge he received after defeating him, but Xia You merely nodded slightly and didn't respond at all.

This undoubtedly gave Shi Nan another setback.

As for Xia You, although what he did might be perceived as rude and arrogant, that's how he thought!

Hmph, you want to put on a show?

Then go and perform a solo act!

You perform your act, I'll do mine. I'm just here to gain symbolism. Do you want me to cooperate with you?

Keep dreaming.

In fact, even Shi Nan's group did not expect Xia You to be so indifferent!

Before this, because they didn't know her and had never met her, they only thought that Xia You, as the champion, even if she didn't have a similar personality to Shi Nan and liked performing on stage, should at least know basic social skills. But they never expected that this situation would occur!

As the saying goes, it takes two to tango. If only Shi Nan is talking incessantly, how can it give people the feeling of a battle of wits?

Instead, he looks more like a clown!

There was even a strange feeling that this man didn't take them seriously at all!

Chapter 805 Humiliating Punishment

Although Shi Nan sensed that Xia You seemed somewhat hostile towards him, he didn't think about why or take it to heart.

After all, the fact that he made such a decision without even informing Xia You shows that he is a very arrogant person.

Such people don't consider others at all.

Even deep down, he didn't think there was anything wrong with what he was doing.

Therefore, protesting against such people is useless and will only make you look weak. So the best way to deal with them is to fight back like Xia You did!

However, Xia You's difficulty in communicating made Shi Nan feel that 'things were getting out of control,' so while carefully observing Xia You, he still smiled calmly and said, "I suppose this is your first time at the Battle Dome? Well then, let me explain the rules here..."

Actually, explaining the rules to Xia You was secondary. The most important thing was that with so many viewers and television broadcasts, Shi Nan wanted to take this opportunity to spread his charm and promote his Battle Dome, thereby attracting more attention.

Unfortunately, he was interrupted by Xia You's wave before he could finish speaking.

"No need..." Xia You said calmly, "I've already looked into it beforehand. If the rules don't change specifically because of me, let's get started quickly."

This is already quite impolite, especially in front of so many people.

With his words stuck in his throat, Shi Nan felt incredibly uncomfortable!

Seeing that Xia You was so clueless, his expression changed slightly, but with so many spectators and cameras around, he could only chuckle and give Xia You a deep look.

That's incredibly arrogant.

Hmph, let's see if you can still be so arrogant once the battle starts!

Seeing the atmosphere was a bit awkward and fearing the audience might notice something was amiss, the host quickly took over the conversation, loudly addressing the people around him: "It seems Xia You has made ample preparations for how to challenge the Giant Dome, which also shows how popular our Giant Dome challenge is. Alright, let's see what theme Mr. Shi Nan will choose!"

Just like when dealing with that female challenger yesterday, regardless of the opponent's strength and lineup, Snape will first send out two Pokémon to show up, then randomly give them names to create mystery and highlight his uniqueness.

Such a gimmick might work on ordinary trainers, but to use it on Xia You is clearly overconfident.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, as Heather flung the two Poké Balls upwards, two flashes of blue light appeared, and a Salamence and a Charizard appeared on the field.

"Flames and dragons soaring in the sky, today's theme—Twin Dragons Roar!"

Heather struck a pose with an air of nonchalance, and upon seeing the two Pokémon appear, Heather's fans in the arena let out ear-piercing screams.

As staunch supporters of Heath, they naturally knew that these two Pokémon were Heath's two trump cards!

Compared to yesterday's battle, both Charizard and Salamence are stronger and more robust!

In the eyes of these people, since Shi Nan has sent out his trump cards, it goes without saying that this will be an extremely exciting battle!

They might even dethrone this champion!

After all, in their eyes, Shi Nan's performance was as strong as ever. It was just that he hadn't had the chance to challenge the Indigo League because he had been staying here. If he had actually participated, with his strength, the championship would have been his!

Now that Charizard and Salamence have entered the arena, they are naturally very excited and want to see how Heather defeats the champion!

"Stone South!!"

"Go, Shinan! Show him what you're capable of!!"

In the trainer command area on the other side, Xia You heard the shouts of the audience and looked at Shi Nan's two Pokémon. She had only one thought in her mind.

It's finally over...

Whether it was a formal dojo or a private venue, among all the opponents he had fought, this person's opening was the most drawn out. What should have been an ordinary battle turned into so many fancy moves, which wasted a lot of time.

Fortunately, it's finally over, and we can get down to business now.

Regardless of who the Pokémon they faced was, Xia You's two Pokémon made their appearance at this moment, in accordance with her previous plan.

A Poké Ball flew out of his pouch and opened on its own. With a flash of blue light, his Gardevoir appeared on the field the next second. At the same time, with a 'cack cack' laugh, Gengar emerged from the shadow beneath his feet and floated beside Gardevoir.

Those familiar with Xia You know what these two Pokémon mean in his team.

Either he was facing a very difficult situation that he had to take seriously, or he was so fed up that he wanted to end the fight without any mercy.

And heather is the latter!

But clearly, Sharp had no idea how serious the situation was. After seeing the two Pokémon, he was still pondering the issue of type advantage.

Salamence's type is Dragon/Flying, and Charizard's type is Fire/Flying. When these two Pokémon face Gengar and Gardevoir, everything is normal except that Dragon-type moves cannot damage Fairy-type moves.

This makes the battle fairer and allows his two Pokémon to perform better without being affected by too many attribute factors.

From this perspective, at least we're on the same starting line as this man, so defeating him shouldn't be too difficult.

At this moment, apart from Xia You herself, only Xiao Xia knew what Shi Nan would face next.

Sitting in the lounge, watching the big screen where both sides were ready, she chuckled and said to Xiaoyao beside her, "It seems that Brother Xia You is really fed up with this guy. It's just a regular gym battle, and he actually sent Gardevoir and Gengar up!"

As for May, she knew that Xia You was very strong and had seen him win the championship, but she didn't know much about Gardevoir and Gengar. She only knew that they seemed to be Xia You's true ace Pokémon, but she rarely saw them appear.

She asked doubtfully, "Are these two Pokémon really that strong?"

"Of course!" Xiaoxia looked intently at the big screen. "Just watch, the battle will be over soon!"

……

At the referee's signal, the match officially began.

Under Shi Nan's command, his Charizard and Salamence roared as they charged toward Xia You's two Pokémon.

Facing an imposing opponent, Xia You simply lowered her gaze and whispered in a voice she could hear, "Don't let them live."

Although he spoke very softly, both Gardevoir and Gengar received his command accurately.

What are these two Pokémon?

Gardevoir, needless to say, is bound to Xia You telepathically. If Xia You feels insulted, then Gardevoir feels insulted as well, something it absolutely will not allow.

Gengar, as a Ghost Pokémon, is naturally fond of playing pranks. It's already good enough if it doesn't bully others, so how could it sit idly by and watch others bully its trainer?

Under such circumstances, how could they possibly show mercy?

Shi Nan had just sent out two Pokémon, and in the blink of an eye, while he was still smiling, a shadow flashed past on each side. The next second, his Charizard and Salamence were both lying dead in front of him.

what?

Upon seeing this, Shi Nan's smile froze instantly.

It wasn't until it realized what had happened that it hurriedly looked down and saw Charizard and Salamence lying on the ground, struggling to get up.

How can this be?

What just happened?

Shi Nan was shocked. The battle had just begun, and his two Pokémon had just flown out. How could they have been knocked back?

Inside the battle arena, he wasn't the only one who was surprised; even the audience was initially stunned, then whispered among themselves, not understanding what had just happened!

Only the fastest-reacting host quickly replayed the battle footage on the big screen backstage.

Only in slow motion can people see exactly how Charizard and Salamence were knocked back!

Two Pokémon charged aggressively toward their opponent, but almost simultaneously, Gardevoir and Gengar raised their hands. As they used their abilities, Charizard and Salamence were struck as if hit by two invisible giant hammers, and were bounced back at an even faster speed!

All of this happened in the blink of an eye, and could only be captured by a high-speed camera.

Only after seeing these things clearly did the audience realize the truth, but at the same time, they couldn't help but feel a little more confused.

Why... does this feel a little different from the battle I imagined?

Wasn't it supposed to be a closely contested battle?

How come it was knocked back after just one strike?

Even Heather's fans were stunned and stood there, their cheers and encouragement coming to an abrupt halt!

When Shi Nan realized what was going on, his expression changed drastically!

To be honest, this was something he had never expected before the match. He simply couldn't believe that his ace Pokémon had been knocked back with a single blow!

This is my ace Pokémon!

When have I ever been so easily defeated?!

Fortunately, although they were injured, it seems that the two Pokémon can continue to fight.

However, this unexpected turn of events inevitably shocked him, and at that moment, he realized that he might have underestimated this young man.

Before he knew it, cold sweat had already appeared on his forehead.

He wanted to make his Pokémon act cautiously, but Xia You didn't give him any chance.

Having succeeded in their attack, Gardevoir and Gengar pressed their advantage. Just as Charizard and Salamence were getting up, the two Pokémon struck again, effortlessly knocking them to the ground.

ended.

The entire battle lasted only a dozen seconds from start to finish. Charizard and Salamence didn't even have a chance to make a move before being easily defeated by Gengar and Gardevoir!
