Harley's eyes welled up with tears again, her fingers gripping Vera's sleeve tightly: "What can I do to make you calm down? Anything I can do, I'll do!"

Vera raised an eyebrow: "Starting tomorrow, you'll come to the library with me."

"Huh?" Harley was taken aback, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded with difficulty. "Okay, I promise you!"

“That’s more like it,” Vera finally let go of her, releasing her hand with a leisurely gesture. “Go on, and come back soon.”

Harley felt like she had been granted a pardon, nodded quickly, put on her invisibility cloak, and hurriedly left the dormitory.

Vera stared at the closed door, her smile fading slightly, and she sighed softly.

She knew what was going to happen tonight—according to the original story, Dumbledore would appear tonight to comfort Harley and take away the Mirror of Erised.

Although the process was somewhat painful, perhaps this was a necessary step for Harley to grow.

If the prophecy cannot be changed, and Harley and Voldemort are destined rivals, then she has to overcome this obstacle on her own.

After Vera finished washing up and was about to check the time, the castle's bricks suddenly emitted a faint golden light.

She immediately pushed the wheelchair forward and placed her palm against the wall.

In an instant, a stream of information flooded into her consciousness—Harley wasn't alone; Dumbledore was there too.

Vera breathed a sigh of relief and withdrew her hand.

It seems tonight will be Dumbledore's turn to counsel Harley.

She had no interest in listening to what Dumbledore was telling Harry these profound truths; she just wanted Harry to get back on her feet.

She picked up a book from the bedside table and started reading while waiting for Harley to come back.

About half an hour later, the dormitory door was gently pushed open.

Harley walked in, her face pale, her green eyes flashing with complex emotions.

"Are you alright?" Vera asked softly.

Harry shook her head and slumped onto the edge of the bed: "I met Professor Dumbledore, and he told me that the mirror is called the Mirror of Erised, and it can reveal a person's deepest desires..."

Her voice trembled slightly. "He said it was dangerous to become addicted to it, and that he would move the mirror to another place tomorrow."

Vera pushed her wheelchair closer to her: "He's right, Halle. No matter how beautiful the things in that mirror are, they're just an illusion."

Harley's shoulders slumped, and she sighed softly, "I know..."

She took a deep breath, then suddenly stood up: "I'm going to take a shower and then get a good night's sleep!"

As she spoke, she forced a smile. "Starting tomorrow, I will keep my promise and continue searching for clues about Nicolas Flamel."

After saying that, he strode into the bathroom.

I wonder if she's secretly crying inside.

Vera smiled helplessly.

Chapter 118 It's normal for good friends to sleep together

The next morning, Harley was indeed back to her usual self.

Although she still looked somewhat forlorn, she no longer mentioned the Mirror of Erised.

After waking up, she carefully folded the invisibility cloak and placed it at the bottom of the box.

Vera thought the matter was over, and so did Harley.

Unexpectedly, not long after the two said goodnight to each other that night, Vera, who hadn't even fallen asleep yet, heard a suppressed and frightened murmur coming from the next bed.

Vera immediately opened her eyes and looked at Harley's bed by the moonlight.

All that could be seen was Harley curled up in the blankets, her shoulders trembling slightly.

“Harley?” Vera called softly.

Unfortunately, the person on the bed was already fast asleep and couldn't hear her calls at all.

Vera frowned, got up and sat in her wheelchair, and carefully approached Harley's bedside.

By the moonlight, she could see Harley's furrowed brows and trembling eyelids, fine beads of sweat on her forehead, and her mumbling incoherently in her sleep.

“Harley,” Vera gently shook her shoulder, “wake up, you’re having a nightmare.”

Harley suddenly opened her eyes, her green eyes filled with terror. She was panting heavily, covered in sweat, as if she had just been pulled out of the water.

“Vera?” Her voice was hoarse, still carrying lingering fear.

“I’m here,” Vera said, taking her cold hand in hers. “It’s alright, it was just a nightmare.”

Harley gripped her hand tightly, her knuckles turning white: "I...I dreamt that my mom and dad disappeared in a green light! And...and there was a really loud, eerie laugh!"

Vera's heart tightened, and she gently stroked her back: "It's all over now, Harley."

Harley swallowed hard, her voice muffled: "After that green light, there seemed to be some kind of cry, but I couldn't hear it..."

"Don't think about it, Harley," Vera gently interrupted her reverie, her fingers lightly brushing through Harley's sweaty hair. "Do you need me to rest with you?"

Harley paused, looked up, and her green eyes flickered with confusion: "With you...?"

Vera realized her suggestion might have been abrupt, and quickly explained, "I mean, I can stay here with you until you fall asleep."

Harley's eyes sparkled in the moonlight. She hesitated for a moment, then moved to the inside of the bed and lifted a corner of the blanket: "It's cold outside...you can lie inside."

Vera froze, instinctively wanting to refuse: "This...isn't appropriate..."

"Why?" Harley blinked, puzzled. "Aren't you used to sleeping with other people?"

Vera opened her mouth, then suddenly realized that in a child's world, sleeping with a friend is perfectly normal.

“Okay, but only tonight,” she said, trying to keep her tone calm.

Harley immediately moved to the side, making room for half of the space.

Vera took a deep breath, braced herself on the edge of the bed with both hands, and carefully moved onto the bed.

Harley quickly helped her adjust her position and carefully covered her with a blanket.

The two lay side by side on the narrow bed, so close they could hear each other's breathing, and Vera could even feel the warmth emanating from Harley.

As expected of someone who practices Quidditch, he's physically strong and has a fiery temper; even his body temperature is a bit higher than hers.

Oh, it could also be because children have a faster metabolism...

Vera tried to relax and whispered, "Sleep, I'm right here."

Harley gave a soft "hmm" and moved closer to her, like a little animal seeking warmth.

Vera froze for a moment, but ultimately did not dodge.

She gently patted Hallie's back, like she was lulling a child to sleep.

The room fell silent, save for the occasional crackling of burning wood from the fireplace.

After a long while, as Harley's breathing gradually became steady, she also exhaled a shallow breath, stared at the dark ceiling for a moment, and then closed her eyes.

……

Hermione returned the day before the Christmas holidays ended.

She stared in astonishment as she heard Harley and Vera recount what had happened during that time.

"The Mirror of Eris?! And nighttime tours too! What if Filch catches you?!"

Harley scratched her head sheepishly: "Well, I didn't get caught..."

“No,” Hermione shook her head, “the most important thing is that you went on a nighttime trip to the forbidden section and still haven’t found any clues about Nicolas Flamel.”

So, this is what you were concerned about?

Harley was speechless for a moment and looked to Vera for help.

Vera coughed lightly, changing the subject, "Hermione, did you have fun skiing?"

Hermione nodded immediately: "Great! Mom and Dad took me to a new ski resort, and the slopes there—"

She suddenly stopped and looked at Vera suspiciously: "Wait, you're not trying to change the subject, are you?"

Vera blinked innocently: "How could that be? We were just curious about how you spent your vacation."

Hermione crossed her arms, her eyes scanning back and forth between the two of them: "Alright... let's go to the library now and continue looking for clues!"

Harley's face immediately fell: "Going again..."

“Of course!” Hermione said firmly. “We promised to solve this mystery together!”

Vera couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at Harley's dejected expression. "It's the last day of the holiday. You should rest and recuperate. The new semester is just around the corner."

Hermione looked at Vera and Harry suspiciously, but finally sighed: "Okay, we'll rest today, but we need to get back to work after school starts tomorrow."

Harley immediately straightened her back: "I promise!"

Clearly, Hermione's return brought life back to the dorm room.

She brought back a whole box full of Muggle snacks and photos, and enthusiastically showed them the scenes of skiing.

"Look at this!" Hermione pointed to the steep snow slope in the photo, her cheeks flushed with excitement. "My dad almost fell down, but luckily he grabbed the railing!"

Harley leaned closer to the animated magical photo and couldn't help but exclaim in amazement, "Muggle photos can move?"

“No,” Hermione explained with a laugh, “it was the magic camera that Vera gave me.”

Harry's eyes widened as she looked at Vera, who was smiling silently to the side, and realized what Vera had given Hermione for Christmas.

Vera calmly took the photo and smiled when she saw little Hermione rolling around in the snow: "Not bad."

The three girls laughed and joked as they shared their holiday experiences until night fell.

Hermione insisted on preparing her things for tomorrow's class in advance, while Harley was called away by Wood to discuss the new training plan.

With the new school term approaching and the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff scheduled for the weekend, the entire Quidditch team is in a particularly tense training atmosphere.

Harley's training intensity also reached its peak. She left early and returned late every day, and many times she was called away by the team before she could even finish her meal.

Even more coincidentally, the referee for this match was Snape.

"That's it!" Ron slapped his thigh as he stuffed food into his mouth. "Everyone knows Snape's favorite student is Harry!"

“It’s Professor Snape.” Hermione rolled her eyes. “Besides, Harry is pretty good at potions.”

Without the influence of Snape's sharp tongue in the original work, or perhaps, this Harley can often sense a little bit of care beneath Snape's harsh words.

Therefore, her potion-making results were quite good.

Vera chuckled softly from the side: "No matter who the referee is, as long as Harley plays to her normal level, she can win."

Harley was a little embarrassed by the praise and poked at the potatoes on her plate, saying, "I... I'll try my best."

And as it turns out, Harley truly deserves her title as "the youngest Seeker in a century".

Even though Snape didn't do anything, she still caught the Snitch in record time, winning the second game for Gryffindor.

After that night, Harley became the most popular person in Gryffindor.

At the celebration party in the Gryffindor common room, Harley was surrounded by people, her face beaming with the joy of victory.

Fred and George raised their drinks high and loudly announced a toast to "our Seekers," filling the lounge with laughter.

Vera sat in the corner, watching all this with a smile. Hermione came over with a drink and sat down next to her.

"Aren't you going to celebrate with Harley?" Hermione asked, her gaze falling on Harley, who was surrounded by the crowd.

Vera gently shook her head: "She's the main character now, let her enjoy this moment."

Hermione glanced at her thoughtfully, downed her drink in one gulp, and then casually picked up a chocolate frog from the table and tore it open.

"Huh?" Hermione exclaimed in surprise, pulling a picture card from the Chocolate Frog box. "This is..."

The picture still showed Dumbledore, his bright blue eyes smiling gently through his half-moon spectacles.

The text below reads: Dumbledore's well-known contributions include: defeating the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, discovering twelve uses for dragon blood, and his fruitful work in alchemy with his partner Nicolas Flamel.

"Nico Flamel!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly, covering her mouth and suppressing her joy, "We've finally found him!"

Although surrounded by people, Harley had been paying attention to what was happening. Hearing the noise, she immediately pushed her way through the crowd: "What's going on?"

Hermione immediately handed her the picture: "We've found Nicolas Flamel!"

As she spoke, she suddenly stood up abruptly, then ran upstairs and into her dormitory.
