She began to rack her brains trying to recall any possible moment when Voldemort might make his move.
No matter how she thought about it, firstly, the castle didn't show any black mist to give her any hints as usual, and secondly, Quirrell had failed against Cerberus just a few days ago, so it was impossible for her to clear the game so quickly.
Could it be that something went wrong with Hagrid's side?
She put down her spoon and turned to look at Harley: "Hagrid, have you sent any messages these past couple of days?"
Harley paused, then shook her head and said, "No, you know, Hagrid has been busy patrolling the Forbidden Forest lately, and he's even canceled his weekend afternoon tea."
Hermione immediately asked nervously, "What's wrong? Do you have another premonition?"
Vera shook her head gently: "I'm just a little worried... Hagrid has been too busy lately."
“Anyway, we don’t have classes this afternoon,” Harley put down the bread and suggested directly, “We can go take a look over there.”
Vera nodded, her gaze sweeping over Quirrell on the teachers' table once more.
If Voldemort has indeed succeeded, then he will certainly intensify his plot to obtain the Philosopher's Stone.
Then I'll have to move up my schedule for taming the three-headed dog.
She was still nervously pondering how to deal with the situation when she glanced over and saw Dumbledore looking thoughtfully at the Gryffindor table through his half-moon spectacles.
Their eyes met briefly for two seconds.
Vera's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately lowered her eyes, pretending to focus on the food in front of her.
After breakfast, the three of them set off for class.
Because Quirrell had taken leave for some reason and found several teachers to substitute for him, the original Defense Against the Dark Arts class was temporarily replaced with History of Magic.
Although listening to Professor Binns read those sleep-inducing textbooks from the podium early in the morning was extremely boring.
However, compared to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, which reeked of garlic, the students surprisingly found the change quite acceptable.
At least many people can catch up on a nap in class.
Soon, on their way to the History of Magic classroom on the second floor, Vera and her friends inevitably passed by the school hospital, which was also located on the second floor.
Unlike the usual tranquility, Vera saw Snape walking out of the school hospital from afar. He turned around, said something to Madam Pomfrey, and then strode away.
Vera frowned, and the moment her gaze met that of Madam Pomfrey, who had just turned around, she hadn't even reacted when she saw the other woman hesitate for a moment before quickly walking towards her.
"Harley, stop!" Vera quickly called out to Harley, who was pushing the wheelchair.
Mrs. Pomfrey had already walked up to them, looking somewhat hesitant: "Miss Black, it's good to see you. Could you come with me for a moment?"
“Of course, madam,” Vera nodded calmly.
“Then we’ll wait for you outside,” Hermione said before Madam Pomfrey could continue.
Harley nodded quickly in agreement.
Mrs. Pomfrey hesitated for a moment, then Vera spoke up: "Madam, if it's not something important, let them wait a bit."
“…Alright.” Mrs. Pomfrey had no choice but to agree to the three’s suggestion. She pushed the wheelchair and went into the school hospital with Vera.
Looking at the bustling crowd in the corridor, Hermione leaned against the wall with some worry: "Is there going to be another problem?"
“No, it won’t.” Harley shook her head, but her drooping green eyes betrayed her unease.
The school hospital was filled with the scent of herbs, and sunlight streamed through the high windows, casting a golden hue on the white bed sheets.
Vera didn't think anything was wrong at first, until she was pushed into Mrs. Pomfrey's office and saw that some medicine bottles on the counter had been scattered and overturned, and her heart tightened.
"I'm sorry, child." Mrs. Pomfrey's apologetic voice came from above. She walked to the control panel and gently touched the medicines that had been scattered.
“Last night, who broke in while I was away and ransacked the place, even stealing a lot of medicine?”
Vera's hand on the wheelchair armrest tightened slightly, her gaze quickly sweeping over the control panel and the medicine shelf beside it. "So, my medicine too..."
“I’ve already spoken to Professor Snape, and he’ll brew the medicine you need within three days,” Madam Pomfrey quickly explained. “It will only take three days.”
But that wasn't what Vera was focused on at the moment.
She took a deep breath, trying to make herself sound more like a rather bewildered young wizard.
"Then..." She blinked, looking quite flustered, "Even the Phoenix Tears—"
Mrs. Pomfrey fell silent.
Looking at her apologetic eyes, Vera finally understood why Quirrell seemed to be in much better shape than usual today.
Unable to obtain the Philosopher's Stone or drink the unicorn's blood, they've come looking for the Phoenix's Tears...
Although Phoenix Tears are primarily used for healing and detoxification, and because their inherent characteristics are too positive, they are not usually suitable for Voldemort's situation.
Furthermore, since the only phoenix in the school was by Dumbledore's side, Voldemort in the original story never considered taking the phoenix's tears.
However, if forced into a corner, as long as the potion is prepared in the right proportions, it can be used as a catalyst to activate the potion's power and thus help Voldemort's current situation.
It's just not as effective as the Philosopher's Stone or Unicorn Blood.
So now, the only question is... who leaked the fact that the school hospital had Phoenix Tears, allowing Quirrell to steal them?
Vera's gaze swept over the various herbs scattered about, and she already had her answer in her heart.

Chapter Ninety-Six: Massage is Essential
After a quick mental review, even Vera had to admit that the Phoenix Tears step was indeed very useful.
When did you first start to attract Dumbledore's attention after spending more than two months at Hogwarts?
After Harley's first match.
She is now absolutely certain that Dumbledore must have discovered something amiss and thus targeted her.
Whether as a test or as a reward for standing on the same side as Harry, Dumbledore took out the Phoenix Tears.
And as it turns out, Phoenix Tears is indeed a panacea and a top-notch medicine. It can not only help alleviate one's injuries and illnesses, but also attract Voldemort, who is injured and has not received treatment for a long time.
No one can guarantee that Voldemort, after being injured in this accident and unable to find a cure for himself for a long time, will not do anything crazy.
After all, there are thousands of students in the school, and we can't let them suffer an undeserved disaster because of this.
If Voldemort were to learn at this point that Dumbledore had given the precious Phoenix Tears to a student, his subsequent actions would not be surprising.
Compared to the heavily guarded Cerberus room and the Forbidden Forest patrolled year-round, the school hospital inside the school is actually a better target to breach.
In addition, the Phoenix Tears have such positive attributes that Voldemort dared not use them too much, which can be considered a limitation on him, ensuring that he could maintain his basic mobility without harming others.
Perhaps the only thing that suffered a loss as a result was Mrs. Pomfrey's precious inventory.
After silently mourning for the destroyed potions for three seconds, Vera regained her composure and returned to her pale and frail appearance.
“Yes,” Vera nodded gently, looking somewhat disappointed. “I’m very sorry for what happened here, madam. But I’m alright, you don’t need to worry about me.”
Mrs. Pomfrey looked at her with pity: "Good child, the headmaster already knows about this, he will find a way."
Vera pursed her lips and didn't say anything more.
“I’ll take you back to class,” Mrs. Pomfrey said, and prepared to push the wheelchair.
“No need, Madam,” Vera declined. “Harley and Hermione are still waiting for me outside.”
Mrs. Pomfrey nodded, then remembered something, quickly walked to the door, and said to the two men guarding the door, "Come in for a moment."
Harley and Hermione quickly came in and stood in front of her, their expressions still somewhat bewildered.
“You two are Miss Black’s roommates, right?” Mrs. Pomfrey asked.
Harley and Hermione nodded in unison: "Yes, madam."
Mrs. Pomfrey said seriously, "Miss Black's medication has encountered a problem. I need you to provide Miss Black with regular massages over the next few days. Is that acceptable?"
Upon hearing this, not only Hach, but even Vera straightened up nervously.
"Madam, I can handle this myself..."
“This concerns your health, Miss Black,” Mrs. Pomfrey interrupted her sternly. “Please take this seriously.”
Vera was speechless for once, and opened her mouth somewhat helplessly, but didn't know what to say.
“Your spine is much more stable than before,” Madam Pomfrey continued, “but in the few days before the potion is ready, you’ll need someone to give you some simple massages to promote blood circulation and prevent muscle atrophy.”
Vera's face flushed slightly: "I can do it myself..."
“Don’t push yourself, child,” Mrs. Pomfrey shook her head disapprovingly. “The muscles around the spine are hard for you to reach on your own, and so are the legs… You probably can’t support the massage on your own.”
Miss Potter, Miss Granger, would you be willing to help?
“Of course!” Harley immediately straightened her back. “No matter how long you want to massage, it’s fine!”
Hermione nodded seriously: "We will do exactly as you instruct."
Mrs. Pomfrey smiled with satisfaction: "Very good. Now, I'll teach you a few simple massage techniques—Miss Black, may you lie down on the bed?"
Vera's face flushed instantly, and she tightened her grip on the blanket on her lap.
She instinctively wanted to refuse, but succumbed to Mrs. Pomfrey's unwavering gaze.
“Okay…” she replied softly, her voice barely audible.
Harley immediately stepped forward and carefully helped her transfer to the examination bed.
Looking back at her two serious-looking partners, Vera pursed her lips before slowly lying down. Her long, silver-gray hair cascaded down the white sheets, making the back of her neck appear flushed.
Madame Pomfrey carefully lifted her robe, revealing the slender, soft lines of her back.
Feeling the slight chill from the outside, Vera trembled slightly, her fingers gripping the sheets tightly.
“Relax, child,” Mrs. Pomfrey said gently, her fingers lightly pressing against her spine. “First, we need to find these key acupoints…”
Harley and Hermione leaned closer to observe, both appearing unusually serious.
Hermione even took out her notebook, ready to jot down key points at any time.
“The muscles here are a bit tense…” Mrs. Pomfrey’s fingers gently pressed along Vera’s spine. “You need to use moderate pressure to loosen them up, don’t use too much force.”
Vera bit her lower lip, trying hard not to make a sound.
Since using Phoenix Tears, her increasingly numb lower back has regained its long-lost vitality and sensation.
Now, being massaged by a professional therapist like Mrs. Pomfrey, the long-lost feeling of soreness mixed with comfort made her almost unable to control her reaction.
“You two give it a try,” Madam Pomfrey gestured for Harry and Hermione to come forward.
Harley swallowed hard, then carefully reached out and gently touched Vera's back with her fingertips.
Her movements were gentler than expected, as if she were afraid of hurting Vera.
“You can apply a little more pressure,” Madam Pomfrey instructed, “like this…”
Hermione also reached out, her movements even more precise, gently pressing on the muscles on both sides of Vera's spine, following the technique Madam Pomfrey had just demonstrated.
Vera's body trembled slightly under their pressure, and she could only bury her face in her arms and pretend nothing was wrong.
"How are you feeling?" Mrs. Pomfrey asked.
"Not...not bad..." Her muffled voice came from the crook of her arm.
Mrs. Pomfrey nodded in satisfaction: "Twice a day, morning and evening, fifteen minutes each time. If there are any abnormalities, come to me immediately."
"Understood!" Hermione carefully noted down the instructions.
Vera finally couldn't help but look up: "...Can we end this now?"
Her cheeks were flushed an unnatural red, her eyes darted around, and she looked extremely embarrassed.
Mrs. Pomfrey couldn't help but chuckle: "We haven't massaged your legs yet."
Vera's face instantly turned even redder.
She had only one thought in her mind right now—she really wanted to kill Voldemort!
Chapter Ninety-Seven: It's all about getting a pleasurable oral massage!
For the next ten minutes, Vera continued to be forced to serve as a teaching prop.
Harley and Hermione, under Madam Pomfrey's guidance, formally learned how to properly massage her legs.
However, compared to her strongly reactive back, Vera felt more comfortable being massaged in her numb legs.
Seeing Harley and Hermione squatting in front of her, kneading her legs with serious expressions, Vera couldn't help but turn her face away, her ears turning bright red.
After the lesson, Mrs. Pomfrey nodded in satisfaction and took a bottle of pale blue ointment from the medicine cabinet: "This is a muscle-soothing ointment. Apply it to her spine and legs twice a day, morning and evening."
