Some of the Fenris warriors slammed their fists on the table, while others raised their goblets high, the wine splashing in the firelight, spilling onto the stone floor and onto each other's shoulders, accompanied by rough laughter and cheers.

Some people even grabbed their giant wolf companions and kissed them hard on the forehead, creating a lively scene of tribal revelry.

Ruth stood at the end of the long table, leaning back slightly, her hands resting on the edge of the table, the animal skin on her chest stretched taut.

He turned his head, his face full of smug satisfaction, and raised his chin in the direction of the emperor, the corners of his mouth curving into a blatant provocation.

Amid cheers from the crowd, he jumped onto the dining table.

When those heavy boots stepped on the edge of the wooden tray, the entire long table shook, and the pieces of meat and bones on the tray bounced a few inches.

Ruth's movements were deliberately exaggerated. He took two steps forward, stepping through the gaps between the empty barrels and plates, then squatted down and looked down at the Emperor with undisguised contempt in his eyes.

"Two games already, short guy."

Ruth's voice was still clearly audible amidst the noise of the stone hall.

"Is there anything else you want to say? Do you still want to prove that you are my father?"

"I think we shouldn't even bother with the third match. We should just admit defeat."

After saying that, Ruth stood up, spread his legs, and said with a mocking expression.

"Come on, crawl over here, then roll away with your big girl!"

"Or do you want this fair-skinned, delicate young lady to have three matches with me?"

Hahaha!

The Fenris people inside the palace laughed even louder, their deafening shouts seeming to shatter the stone palace.

The Fenrisians found it extremely amusing, but Zhao Zheng only found it noisy.

Ruth crouched down again, bringing her face close to the Emperor's. His pale white eyes gleamed with an amber luster in the firelight.

"What's wrong, little dwarf? Speechless now? How about this, I'm in a good mood today, so you don't need to crawl between my legs. I'm a magnanimous man, so kneel down and call me 'Dad' a few times, and I'll let you go, okay?"

The laughter in the stone hall grew louder, and the Fenris warriors all gathered around the long table, looking like they wanted to watch the show.

Some people nearby egged him on, suggesting that Ruth should just pin the Emperor down and call him his son.

Zhao Zheng leaned against the door frame and straightened up slightly.

He could sense that the concentration of the golden spiritual energy in the stone hall began to change the moment Russ jumped onto the dining table, like a stone being thrown into a calm pond, with ripples spreading outwards at a speed almost imperceptible to the naked eye.

The emperor stood up from the bench opposite the dining table, his expression unchanged, but the veins on his neck and forehead were now barely concealed.

When the Emperor stood up expressionlessly, Russ's life-or-death senses, which were countless times stronger than those of a wild beast, instantly activated.

Oh no! That's going too far!

Russ's mind, which had been flushed with excitement from the poison of Fenris mead, instantly cleared. Looking at the Emperor's frail body, his eyes were filled with deep apprehension.

But looking at the Fenris warriors around him, he felt like he had made a terrible mistake.

He quickly stood up and continued his provocation.

"Oh ho, what, you're still not convinced?"

"Fine, if that's how it is, I'll grant your wish. This isn't a good place to fight. If you're so tough, come outside with me and we'll have a proper fight. Don't blame me if you end up crying!"

Forget it, let's lure him out first. This guy is no ordinary person; if we make a move here, these wolf cubs are doomed.

At this moment, Krus felt an even stronger sense of crisis. He looked down at the emperor below, whose body was faintly emitting golden light, and his first instinct was to run away as fast as he could, to run far away.

A smile returned to Zhao Zheng's face. To be honest, he had no idea that the Wolf King was so annoying.

Although he could see the shrewdness in Ruth's eyes and his earlier attempt to lure the Emperor away, it didn't change the fact that Ruth was about to suffer.

The Emperor's body continued to grow larger, and Ruth, who was already standing on the table, watched as the short little man swelled up into a golden giant, radiating golden light, whose size was no smaller than the giant behind him, and who was also wearing a golden power armor.

Looking at the giant in front of him, who was two heads taller than him standing on the table and was dressed in golden power armor, Ruth suddenly felt that he might have gone too far before, so was it too late to admit his mistake now?

"Father...Father..."

"What the Empire needs is an excellent war commander, not a good-for-nothing!"

"I know……"

Before Rus could finish speaking, he suddenly felt a golden light strike him with lightning speed.

The enormous golden power fist even faintly emitted golden arcs of electricity, and before Russ could react, it had already sent him flying.

The palace was instantly blasted open, and Ruth collapsed on the snow, unconscious.

At that moment, Fenris's warriors stared wide-eyed, none of them able to comprehend what had just happened.

This time, the Emperor did not remove his psionic disguise; he simply walked over to Zhao Zheng and patted him on the shoulder.

"Take your brothers and get back to the Emperor Dream."

Chapter Forty-Seven: Would saying this be too hurtful to him?

When Ruth woke up, the ceiling above her head was an unfamiliar pale gold.

The texture of the light was completely different from the dim yellow light emitted by the campfire in the Fenris Stone Temple; the warm gold here carried a very faint hint of coolness.

It took him a few seconds to realize that he was lying on an exceptionally soft bed, his body covered by a light and warm fabric.

The bed he slept in Fenris was always a hard wooden plank covered with dry moss and animal hides, and sometimes it was just a slightly flat spot on the snow. He had never experienced this kind of texture before.

Ruth's first reaction was to sit up abruptly, his right hand instinctively reaching for his waist, trying to grab the long-handled axe that he never parted with.

But all his fingers touched was a smooth fabric surface and an empty side; his weapon was nowhere to be found.

He quickly looked around and found that the room he was in was not large. The walls were made of flat gray alloy panels with gold decorations and some paintings of Nordic style hanging on them.

Unfortunately, Ruth was a rough man and couldn't appreciate this kind of art. He was more concerned about where he was.

He glanced down at himself. The wolf fur cloak he had worn for several years had been replaced with an exceptionally soft and well-tailored greyish-white inner robe. The collar and cuffs were edged with a very fine dark gold thread, without any ornaments or markings.

The feel of the clothes gave him a subtle sense of unease. The Fenris people only cared about warmth and practicality when it came to clothing, and never paid attention to such fancy things.

During his years living in Fenris, he never imagined that such fabric existed in the world.

It was too light; wearing it felt like wearing nothing at all, making Russ, who was used to heavy animal hides, feel somewhat uncomfortable.

There is a door on the side wall of the room. There is no obvious doorknob. The edge of the door panel is almost flush with the wall, like a thin slit cut out of a whole alloy plate.

He was about to kick the door when he suddenly seemed to remember something and put his foot down. He simply turned the doorknob gently, revealing a spacious corridor outside.

The corridor was quiet, with the walls on both sides made of the same gray alloy material and decorated with the same shimmering gold. A lamp was embedded at intervals, and the light was distributed extremely evenly with almost no shadows.

Ruth hesitated for a moment inside the door before walking out.

As he rounded the first corner, he saw a tall figure standing ahead. The man, dressed in dark gold armor, stood with his back to him in front of a porthole at the end of the corridor, his gaze fixed on the planet illuminated by starlight.

It's that big guy.

Ruth paused for a moment.

When he met Zhao Zheng in the Fenris Stone Palace, the latter was leaning against the door frame, watching the entire competition with an expression of anticipation.

As Zhao Zheng approached, he turned his head, his gaze lingering on Ruth's face for a moment before shifting back to the porthole, speaking casually.

"Awake? How are you feeling?"

Ruth looked at Zhao Zheng warily, raising his hands and clenching them slightly, but quickly lowering them again.

"Where am I? Where am I?"

"The Emperor Dream, the Emperor's flagship, we are now above Fenris. Look, your home planet is below."

"You've been feeling dizzy for three days now, how are you feeling?"

Zhao Zheng joked.

Before Ruth could say anything, Zhao Zheng walked over.

"Alright, if you have any questions, go ask the Emperor. He's already waiting for you over there. Let's go."

Ruth stood still, looked out the porthole, glanced at Zhao Zheng's back, and finally followed him.

After passing through corridors, airtight doors, and elevator shafts, the two finally arrived at a reception room on the outer layer of the Imperial Dream's command bridge.

The layout of the reception room is very simple, with a low table and a few chairs in the center, and a narrow porthole embedded in the bulkhead on one side.

The emperor sat in one of the chairs, holding a glass of red wine, and looked up when he heard the two footsteps.

Zhao Zheng said nothing, simply sat down in a chair, picked up a bottle of wine and started drinking, showing no signs of awkwardness, and the emperor didn't seem to mind.

Ruth stopped a few steps away from the Emperor.

He stood in the light streaming in through the porthole, looking at the man sitting behind the low table, at his unremarkable face and those golden eyes.

He recalled the punch in the Fenris Stone Palace, and also the golden light and the enormous, terrifying golden fist he had seen before he passed out.

"you……"

Ruth was about to speak when she stopped.

He was carefully considering his words, which was unusual for a Fenrisian who was used to being straightforward.

The emperor did not urge him, but simply put the wine glass in his hand back on the table.

"Just say what you want to say. There are no outsiders here."

Ruth was silent for a moment, then spoke, her tone tentative and cautious.

"Are you really my father?"

"If you're referring to physiological and genetic blood relations, then I can answer you, yes."

Ruth's gaze fell on the Emperor's unremarkable face.

He could tell that the face was actually disguised, but he could also sense the terrifying power hidden beneath that disguise.

"Then why did you hit me?"

……

Zhao Zheng couldn't help but look at Russ. No, little brother, are you really that cute?

"Because you made me angry."

Ruth was speechless for a moment, not knowing what to say.

"Sit down, what are you still standing for? Come on, have some of the wine here, it's better than your Fenris mead. I don't know how you guys can drink that poison."

Ruth turned to look at Zhao Zheng, remained silent for a moment, and then asked the question that had been on his mind all along.

"You are also a father's son? My brother?"

"I guess so. I got back a little earlier than you. My name is Zhao Zheng."

“You have another brother named Horus, who is currently on a great expedition and cannot come. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be me and the Emperor who would have come this time.”

Ruth vaguely sensed a subtle estrangement between his father and brother, but he dared not ask too much, as he knew nothing about the situation.

"Oh, right, you also have a legion of Space Marines, all of whom were created using your genetic material. They are your offspring. Next, you will learn how to fight from me and Horus, and then you will embark on the Great Crusade."

"Or you could stay on the Imperial Dream and the Emperor would personally teach you, but let's talk about that when you return to Terra. A grand celebration for the Primarch's return has already been held for you."

The Emperor slightly raised his chin, gesturing towards the side bulkhead where a holographic screen was embedded, displaying a brief information about the Sixth Legion.

"The Sixth Legion, Space Wolves, has just recaptured a star system and is currently resting in the A-47 star system of the Solar Region."

"They are waiting for the Primarch to return. You can make initial contact with the Legion during your training period, and then you can decide on the next course of action."

Ruth walked up to the screen and glanced at the information and some of the images displayed on it.

In those images, a group of Space Marines wearing gray power armor are practicing combat in a training ground. Their movements are fast and have a certain primitive fighting style.

Ruth looked at them, his gaze lingering on the faces of the warriors for a long time, his breathing becoming slightly heavy.

He had never imagined that there were people in the world so similar to himself.

Ruth put aside his unruly and savage nature and asked with a somewhat solemn expression.

Will they accept me?

“They will recognize you as their father; it’s a genetic connection, an unbreakable bond in their blood.”
