Because the airship is covered with balloons, landing these devices becomes somewhat difficult.

However, after several parts were knocked off with a clanging sound, the cannon was quickly assembled, cleaned, and inspected by the blacksmith rats.

Then push it to the entrance of the Dessert Hill Mine.

Sulfur led the way, his short white hair standing out conspicuously in the mist.

Red Eyes scanned the inside of the mine entrance, then raised her hand and decisively instructed the rat girls to adjust the angle of the cannons.

The mouse girls loaded a heavy, solid practice bullet into the cannon barrel, pushed it forward into the breech with the iron cone head facing forward, stuffed the gunpowder bag into the breech, and tightened it with the breechblock.

The cannon was aimed at the mine entrance, which had been hastily blocked by the ant girls with corpses, rocks, and mud.

"boom!"

Sulfur waved.

With a deafening roar, the iron spike bullet spun violently out and pierced through the fragile barrier.

Body fragments splattered deep into the mine shaft, and green blood flew everywhere.

More green mist gasbags had already been pushed to the mine entrance, and thick, yellowish-green poisonous gas surged in from behind the sulfur and rat girls, rapidly pouring into the downward-sloping mine tunnel.

At the same time, more artillery shells were thrown into the gas well by the Rat Girls, and a series of explosions came from underground.

The shockwave propelled the green mist accumulated inside the gas well out of the ground.

A column of yellowish-green gas shot into the sky and then scattered and fell back down.

But then more poisonous fog poured in from the surrounding area, filling the passages that had been temporarily blasted open.

This time, the toxic gas surged in without any obstruction. All the gas wells became entrances that greedily devoured the toxic gas, even forming small vortexes on the surface of the toxic gas sea.

Deep underground, unseen by the earth, the ant girls' defenses were utterly destroyed by a power they couldn't comprehend at all.

Morren gripped the hilt of the rune sword at his waist and walked toward the mine entrance, surrounded by militia rats.

Upon entering the mine, the tunnel extends downwards for less than twenty meters.

The slope is gentler, and the old marks from the original excavation can still be faintly seen on the rock walls on both sides.

At the end of the mine tunnel, it suddenly opens up into an underground cave that has been both naturally formed and artificially expanded, large enough to accommodate hundreds of rat girls standing on one side.

The solid practice bullet that pierced through the obstacle pierced through the entire mine tunnel, shredding more than a dozen little ant girls along the way into pieces.

It eventually struck the rocky ground, leaving a deep crater the size of a table, from which several cracks spread.

Inside the cave, you can see the corpses of several soldier ants. Their gray-black carapaces have no external injuries, indicating that they were all killed by the green mist. They are still in a fighting posture.

The corpses of dozens of female ants were scattered around the soldier ants, and green blood oozed from their mouthparts, flowing across the ground.

Everything was submerged in a thick green mist, lifeless and gloomy.

The scout mouse pricked up its round ears and slowly turned them, carefully listening for sounds from the several branching mine tunnels below.

Her ear hovered for a few seconds towards a mine tunnel on the left, then she turned around, stood at attention, and reported to Morren:

There's still a faint sound coming from this.

Chapter 56 We're really going to get rich!

The queen ant's enormous, smooth body filled the entire tunnel.

The upper body was a snow-white, voluptuous female body, its astonishing weight pressing heavily on her crossed arms.

Her face was incredibly alluring, as if it had been deliberately shaped into the most attractive feature.

But below the waist is a completely different creature, with the abdominal segments of a giant, dark brown insect extending deep into the tunnel.

Four thick, carapace-covered insect appendages extend from both sides of the body, bracing against the rock walls and ground of the mine tunnel.

Big.

Very big.

Even when she was just lying down, she was nearly two meters tall. Her body completely blocked out the darkness of the passageway, making it impossible to see what was inside.

"Why does the queen ant look like this?"

The rat girls blushed and turned their gazes away, embarrassed to stare at the two white stalactites.

Moren reached out and pinched the heads of the two closest rat girls, turning their faces back to face the enemy.

There are many different theories in academia about why all the beast girls and monster girls in the world have similar cute faces.

Many scholars agree with the notion that "they were all goddesses who designed their own images."

But Molen is a staunch atheist, so his answer is:

He didn't know either.

But he knew that no matter what the other person looked like, they were just as dangerous.

A girl is not safe just because she is older.

Rather, the bigger it is, the more dangerous it is.

Such a huge queen ant, even with just a final punch, would be enough to smash all the rat girls into rat pancakes.

and so.

Smaller is better.

The queen ant was clearly unaware of the power struggle between the big and small ants in Morren's mind; she was simply observing the male creature wearing a bird-beak mask with great interest.

It was as if she wasn't the mother of those bloodthirsty monsters, and the corpses around her, dripping with green blood, had nothing to do with her.

Do all mouse mothers have bird beaks?

The queen ant's voice was exceptionally soft.

"Eh? Baron's mother."

The rat girls all looked at Moren.

Moren was too lazy to correct the form of address, and even less inclined to exchange pleasantries with the queen ant. He went straight to the point and asked:

"Why attack the low hill, and why specifically target me?"

The queen ant raised her face and met the eye sockets on the bird-beak mask.

The larger the organism, the stronger its resistance to toxins, but although she showed signs of fatigue, her eyes held an indifferent expression.

"Expansion, devouring, slaughtering—these are things that ants do all the time."

"As for you, little mouse's mother."

She smiled, and a pair of jet-black insect mouthparts slowly emerged from the middle of her lips, opening and closing with a click.

A heavy scraping sound came from deep within the tunnel, and two giant insect legs emerged from the darkness, their sharp tips pressing heavily against the rock walls on either side of the rat swarm.

At that moment, she truly looked like a monster—an enormous, strong, and brutal monster.

"As for you, it was all on that person's orders..."

Morren gripped the hilt of his sword.

Suddenly, before the words were even finished, the queen ant's entire head exploded!

Green blood spurted in all directions, splashing and covering Morren and all the rats.

The enormous body lost its strength and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

"Ugh, that's disgusting!"

"Green blood got into my mouth, sob sob sob."

"Why did she suddenly explode?"

Molen wiped the green blood off his mask and frowned even more as he looked at the headless corpse of the queen ant.

He just died like that?

He quickly stepped forward, squatted down, and reached into the still-spreading green blood to pick something up.

About the size of an arm, entirely pink, with a slippery surface covered in tiny wrinkles, it's a bloated slug.

It is dissolving rapidly, with fine bubbles constantly emerging from its surface.

Flesh and blood beast?

How did this thing get into the queen ant's head?

As far as Morren knew, the Flesh Beasts were just a bunch of inflatable toys.

Its pink and enormous bloated body is almost entirely composed of foam and liquid, and is extremely loose and fragile.

Even a giant flesh and blood beast several meters tall might not be able to defeat Lyme in a one-on-one fight.

A complete disgrace to monsters, known for its greater numbers than Chimera Beasts and for having almost no valuable loot.

Such a parasitic flesh-and-blood beast is unheard of.

As the flesh beast gradually dissolved into a disgusting puddle of pink foam, Moren still couldn't quite figure it out.

Never mind, I'll stop thinking about it for now.

Moren stood up and waved to the militia rats behind him.

"Search around and see if there are any spoils of war."

"Great!"

The rat girls cheered and scattered into the various branching mine tunnels to search.

After several meals.

"This is bad."

The rat girls emerged listlessly from the depths of the mine, carrying all sorts of junk.

Ant girls rarely collect valuables, so their spoils are usually just a few cheap decorations that are occasionally sent back to the nest along with the corpses.

There are also many bags of white minerals left over from the original mine.

But something is better than nothing. The rat girls, with mineral bags on their heads, crawled back to the surface along the mine tunnel.

Board the airship, pick up the surviving mouse girls who are still waiting in Sweets Town, and head back to Low Mountain.

The return journey was smooth.

When the airship docked atop the low hill, the mouse girls of Sweet Hill were guided down the wooden planks.

As soon as Bai Fan stepped onto the stone ground of the low hill, he saw a familiar face in the crowd.

The older mouse girl also saw her at the same time, and the water bottle in her hand fell to the ground with a thud.

Bai Fan rushed into her mother's arms, the two little bodies embracing each other tightly, crying and trembling all over.

"Mom, Mom, I thought you were dead."

"My dear daughter, my dear daughter."

Neither mother nor daughter expected the other to still be alive, and tears streamed down their little faces.

Tin foil stood aside, looking around in utter astonishment at the throngs of dwarf mountain mouse girls coming and going.

This was completely different from the low hills she had imagined that had long since been destroyed.

Tin foil turned around and bowed deeply to Morren.

“Young Master Morren… Ah, Baron Morren, thank you so much this time, otherwise Bai Fan and I would have…”

"Ah."

Molen responded absentmindedly, his mind still preoccupied with the pink slug.

"Ok?"

Molen suddenly realized something and his eyes widened. "Who did you just say you were with?"

"Do you know Bai Fan, Your Excellency?"

"I just learned about this alum."

Molen pointed to the mouse girl who was still embracing her mother and weeping.
