The cat merchant walked up to the unicorn, looked up, and asked.

"No, meow, let everyone hold on a little longer." Jimmy sat up straight and held the baron's license above his head.

"That area ahead used to be infested with ant girls. Even the pack of wolves couldn't wipe them all out. Watch out for ambushes, meow."

The cat merchant had never seen Ant Girl before. She looked at the dark plains of the lightless zone. There were no dead trees in this area, and the terrain was flat.

There was no suitable place to hide, making it unsuitable for an ambush.

Jimmy noticed his colleague's confusion, put the license in his pocket, and said:

"Don't mistake those ants for animal girls, they're monster cats! Tell the others to watch their feet..."

Jimmy's ears twitched slightly.

A very faint rustling sound came from underground.

"Quickly open!"

The cat merchant immediately retreated.

But it was too late. In the next instant, a dark red spear shot straight up from the ground, piercing through her entire thigh!

Fresh blood slid down the dark red spear shaft.

The cat merchant's assistant screamed and fell to the ground, the spear being pulled back into the ground, leaving a fist-sized hole.

The entire ground began to tremble.

Dozens of round holes burst open simultaneously from the surrounding soil, and countless shadows poured out of the holes.

Ant Girl!

They were short in stature, but moved extremely fast and were numerous. The dark red spears and scimitars in their hands secreted corrosive formic acid and emitted a pungent, sour stench.

"Fire arrows!"

Jimmy shouted.

The cat merchants of the caravan lined up on both sides of the giant rats carrying goods, their crossbows taut and short arrows fired in rows.

The front-row ant girl was instantly pierced, and green blood gushed from the wound.

But the ant girls behind them continued charging forward, stepping over the corpses of their companions.

The lemming guards raised their small shields to form a low wall, and short spears pierced through the gaps in the shields, killing the ant girls who pounced on them one by one.

A lemming guard was pounced on by the ant girl, and a guard next to him pierced the enemy's chest with a spear, pulling his companion back.

The ant swarm came from all directions, and more and more holes appeared on the ground.

The three-story-tall unicorn roared and raised its front hooves high.

A dozen or so ant girls had already climbed onto the unicorn's legs and abdomen, their scimitars attempting to pierce its thick white fur.

The unicorn swung its body violently, its long, curved horn sweeping across, sending the ant girl flying and shattering into pieces in mid-air.

With a single stomp of its massive foreleg, it crushed the ant girl on the ground into a bloody pulp.

The unicorn charged forward in a rage, throwing off the ant girls clinging to it. Before they could even get up, they were crushed by its hind hooves.

The ant girls' offensive was disrupted by the unicorn's fierce counterattack, and they temporarily retreated a few steps.

"Don't break formation!"

Jimmy stood on the unicorn's back, giving loud commands and directing the crossbowmen and guards to re-form their ranks.

An ant-girl climbed up from the unicorn's tail and approached silently.

By the time Jimmy sensed the presence behind her, a hand covered in formic acid had already grabbed her tail.

"Meow!!"

Jimmy was suddenly pulled off the unicorn's back, and the whole cat crashed heavily to the ground.

The ant girl pounced, opening her mouth to reveal her sharp mandibles, aiming straight for her throat.

Jimmy drew a short knife from his waist, kicked her away, flipped over and pinned the ant girl down, gripped the knife handle tightly with both hands and stabbed her hard.

One slash, two slashes, three slashes!

Green blood splattered, covering Jimmy's face and eyes.

Ant Girl's body was still twitching, so Jimmy stabbed her twice more until the body stopped moving completely.

Jimmy wiped the green blood from his face and looked up.

A dozen or so ant girls formed a semicircle, their dark red scimitars and spears aimed at her.

The caravan's guards and crossbowmen also formed a line on the other side, protecting the giant rat and the wounded man behind them.

The two sides were locked in a stalemate, separated by the corpses of ant girls scattered all over the ground.

A highly mutated soldier ant girl squeezed through the encirclement and entered.

Her body showed almost no trace of human form, covered in thick chitinous armor with layers of armor plates at the joints of her limbs, and her head was reduced to a pair of huge compound eyes and a mouth that opened and closed continuously.

The soldier ant stepped on Jimmy's back, pinning her to the ground, then pulled the baron's charter from her bosom and sniffed it.

"The target's scent... but it's not there..."

The soldier ants quickly scanned the entire caravan but didn't see any men.

A sharp, dark red blade was placed against Jimmy's neck. Just by being close, the corrosive formic acid caused her skin to blister with excruciating pain.

Jimmy understood.

The Baron flew into the Old Market, which is why he managed to avoid the Ant Girl.

They're looking for the Baron!

"The cat doesn't know what you're talking about, meow! Let the cat go!"

"Take this cat back to the den..."

The soldier ant issued commands to the female ants around it, its mouthparts opening and closing as it uttered incoherent words.

"Eat the rest...all of them..."

The unicorn lowered its head, its horn pointed at the soldier ants, and pawed at the ground with its four hooves, poised to charge.

Suddenly, a long wolf howl echoed from the darkness.

Then came the second and third sounds, which rang out simultaneously from all directions.

Countless footsteps rushed in from the depths of darkness.

"Wolf! Wolf is coming!"

The wolf girls surged out of the darkness, their gray and black figures forming a fierce wave that crashed directly into the ant girls' encirclement.

The greatsword shattered the ant girls' chitinous armor, and its teeth tore apart their limbs.

A tall, black giant wolf charged at the front, its size twice that of an ordinary wolf girl, its wolf eyes gleaming with a dark golden light in the darkness.

The soldier ants raised their dark red scimitars and swung them at the giant wolf.

The giant wolf slapped the blade with its paw, sending it flying.

The second claw gripped the soldier ant's head, and the chitinous armor shattered under the immense force.

The giant wolf used its claws to tear the soldier ant, along with its armor, in half.

Green entrails and bodily fluids were spilled all over the ground.

The battle ended in a crushing defeat in just a few seconds.

The remaining ant girls, oblivious to fear, pounced forward in a frenzy, and the wolf girls tore apart all the struggling remains.

The towering wolf-hunting leader straightened up and looked down at the catgirl lying on the ground, her face covered in green blood.

Jimmy gazed at the tall, imposing face in the darkness that instilled fear in cats, and said in a soft, sweet voice:

"no, do not want……"

Her face was filled with fear.

"Don't lick the cat!"

Jimmy was instantly surrounded by more than a dozen female dogs and wolves, who sniffed and licked him, leaving him covered in drool.

"Niffle, it's a cat, it's Jimmy who sells delicious food."

"It smells of blood. Is Jimmy injured?"

"Just let me lick it!"

Jimmy was overwhelmed by a pile of furry tails and tongues, letting out pitiful howls.

"Stop licking!"

"Meow, don't lick there, meow!"

Wolf girl or something.

I hate it the most!!

Chapter 45 The Fox Girl Merchant

The fox-woman merchant has no name.

If it ever existed, it might have been something like "Little Seventeen".

This doesn't mean she's the seventeenth daughter in the family; she doesn't think her illiterate mother could count exactly how many daughters had been taken away.

Only she knows how much effort a brown fox has put in to climb to where she is today, step by step.

You want her to leave?

snort!

Just go!

The fox-woman merchant squatted inside the tent, spreading her luggage out on the ground.

She pulled out several rather beautiful dresses from the bottom of her trunk. They were made of fine materials that she usually couldn't bear to wear, with smooth silk surfaces, perfect colors, and patterns that she loved.

She hesitated for a moment, then picked out the two lightest items, folded them, and put them into the cloth bag.

She opened the makeup box, picked out the three most expensive bottles—one for rouge and one for eyebrow pencil—and stuffed them into a lining of her clothes.

You can't bring too much; it would be bad if others noticed.

The fox-woman merchant bent down, reached under the wooden bed, rummaged around for a while, and pulled out a bamboo tube.

She shook it twice, listening to the reassuring gurgling sound inside.

She unscrewed the wooden stopper of the bamboo tube, and the coins wrapped in silk cloth fell into her palm. She counted them one by one with her fingertips.

There were four gold coins, two silver coins, and over sixty copper coins.

This was a considerable amount of private savings, enough for her to find a place to hide and live a decent life for three to five years.

Although there are several more zeros in gold coins in the market's public accounts than that number.

But just thinking about the cold, icy profiles of those black foxes sent chills down the spine of the fox-woman merchant.

No, the head of the household's money cannot be embezzled.

Being chased to the ends of the earth by those black foxes is no joke.

She certainly didn't want her big tail to end up hanging on a market post.

The cunning fox-woman merchant wrapped the coins again in silk cloth, stuffed them back into the bamboo tube, and tightened it.

She couldn't help but touch those clothes a few more times, her fingers brushing against the silk, feeling a little reluctant to part with them.

We simply wrapped them all up and tied the bag tightly.

The fox-spirited merchant lifted the hem of her skirt, tucked a small cloth bag between her thighs, and covered it with the skirt fabric.

You can't tell anything from the outside.

Then, twirling her fluffy brown tail, she lifted the tattered tent flap and walked out of the market with an ordinary expression.

"Boss, those newly captured brats have high fevers. What should we do?"
