The Astartes Family's Notebook

"I will only teach you once."
Kaz clapped his hands, signaling the Astartes around him.
"We are Astartes, that's true, we are Superman, but listen up, what I hate most about those low-quality warbands is their tendency to make all sorts of assumptions."
"Is 30 million Throne Coins a lot? Such a large cruiser, is 30 million a lot for just changing the outer armor and painting? Yes, that's right, you can go and steal the paint, you can plunder the slave laborers, you can force them to work, you can not spend a penny and even make a profit."
"But I have to ask, how do you calculate the time cost, how do you calculate the labor costs for the brothers, and how do you calculate the uncontrollable risks caused by reckless actions?"
"Just to change the paint on the ship, you attracted a large imperial army to surround and kill it, so you'd save that little bit of Throne Coins and give it to the Imperial Navy as a trouble fee, right?"
"Only money that can be spent is money; money piled up in the warehouse is just a burden."
It's no wonder Katz likes to preach; his aversion to stupidity has simply worsened.
This most basic political economy common sense, learned in junior high school, is knowledge outside of the cognitive scope for most chaotic Astartes.
The basic principle of chaos economics is to seize whatever is scarce, kill if it is not given, and keep killing until it is given.
A lump of dog shit.
Why do the destructive forces bestow various blessings and empowerments upon Astartes, who worships Chaos?
Because if their physical combat strength isn't enhanced, how can their atrophied minds compete with the Imperial forces? They'll be completely outmatched.
Don't think that repainting a cruiser is a small project. If it's a designated cooperative shipyard of the Imperial Navy with matching equipment, it can be done in less than a month. But at a small dock like Black Market Starport, even if Kaz pays, the shipwrights can only paint it like they're playing with Splatoon.
It was all done in three months. That was because Kaz killed someone, put the contractor who withheld wages on the slipway and set him on fire, and then gave the workers a million Throne Coins in cash.
Why is Singapore not responding to this?
What's the reaction, or rather, what kind of reaction do we need? The Blood Duck Legion's Astartes are willing to pay the remaining 29 million. What's the big deal about killing someone?
Actions speak louder than words. For the first time, the brothers in the Warband and the Warband directly experienced the power of the Throne Coins. Apart from the few old popsicles, they all had a refreshing feeling.
"Money is a bastard, you can earn it back if you lose it. We are exchanging a bunch of inanimate objects for the labor of living people. In essence, we are exchanging resources for time."
It's easy to act like a Malicious Soldier. After all, Astartes can just let loose and he'll look like one. There's no need to deliberately imitate him.
However, some preparations are needed to impersonate a Blood Raven.
To be precise, Kaz didn't steal the Blood Ravens' name either; he's a high-quality imitation. Do you even understand the value of a high-quality imitation?
Our Blood Duck Battle Team acts uprightly and honestly, with a clear conscience!
Then why does your Blood Duck look so much like other Blood Ravens, from its paint job to its battle cry?
Outsiders should refrain from inquiring about matters concerning loyalists.
"Qiong En, is it done yet?"
"Boss, I found the signal generation module, but the outer shell is made of pure gold, so I can't open it or modify it."
"Smash it."
"Oh."
Although Qiong En was subjected to various forms of loving re-education by Kaz, the technical sergeant's technical abilities skyrocketed after being freed from all the constraints.
Every ship in the Empire is equipped with a unique identification code generator, a fact that many members of the Chaos War Clan and even veterans of the Eternal War are unaware of.
In other words, the Wings of the Wasteland are very resourceful and have good relationships with the local Mechanicus and many private shipyards in the Pacific Starfield. In order to deal with possible accusations from the Imperial Navy and the Inquisition, they are very familiar with the various unspoken rules of ship transfer.
This cruiser was stolen from the Empire by the Chaos Warband, and then taken back by Kaz. Logically, it should be returned to its rightful owner.
But can reason prevail over power? Why don't you make Blood Raven return all those sacred relics in their armory to their rightful owners?
Right? That makes sense.
After completing all the preliminary preparations, Kaz returned to the battlefield with the newly formed Blood Duck Legion's Eighth Company.
So what are the Dark Angels' pursuers doing?
The First Legion's think tanks were quite capable; they managed to predict Kars' destination as the Calesis Sector by analyzing various clues and overcoming psionic interference.
So they went to the final stop early to set up a scheme.
After all, most Astartes are single-minded, and those like Katz, who fight with both sides of their brains, are extremely rare.
Who told Kars to promise Ysera that he would first send her to a mysterious planet that wasn't even on the Imperial star map?
Kaz's attitude towards the Adalin has always been that even if Black Flower Ugly Sprout is innocent, she should be killed, and this has never changed.
However, the general hostility towards the Adarin race did not affect the personal friendship between Karz and Ysera.
After all, in the increasingly extreme purgatory galaxy, the ability to think rationally is extremely valuable.
Many topics that cannot be discussed with subordinates can be discussed with this priest of Atanza.
The white bean sprouts on the path of cultivation are all schizophrenic patients. When it doesn't involve grand issues like the safety of the Ark and the survival of the race, Ysera is indeed a good listener with stable emotions.
But if you expect Kaz to have any other ideas, then the other Astartes of Blood Duck are underestimating their leader.
"How many times have I told you? Call me platoon leader, platoon leader!"
Trois, now serving as the company adjutant, began to enforce discipline, while Ovisa was very dissatisfied with his position as the company chaplain.
There were no company chaplains during the First Legion era. Luo Jia's attempt to do this was met with a denunciation meeting by his Primarch brothers.
but......
Oh well, the common sense of the M31 can't govern the Astartes of the M41. The legions have been broken down into warbands. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
And so, to everyone's surprise, the Blood Ducks actually managed to piece together a fairly decent battle group company framework once the apothecary boarded the ship. It had everything it needed, which was quite amazing.
"I'll pick you up first, then recruit a batch of new soldiers, and then take you to your destination. Is that alright?"
"No."
Isera also realized that this journey with the human-gorilla canned food was coming to an end.
The survival of the Atansar Ark world is at stake, and she can no longer afford to be carefree.
While it's fashionable for Chaos Astartes to seduce Eldar women—a trend among the Eye of Fear, as exemplified by a number of Chaos playboys like Kayan—Kaz is not one of them.
If you're going to form a war guild, then form a proper war guild. Unless you give each of your brothers a female Elven race member, what kind of behavior is it to hoard them all?
Those who are united in purpose will prevail; those who share the same desires will prosper. Katz is not one to hog all the benefits.
To be honest, the upbringing of the Atansar Ark world was too good, almost influencing Kaz's view of the Ark Eldar.
But in my heart, Kars, there is only one sun: my grandfather. I have already dedicated myself to the country, so why should I dedicate myself to you? No promise, no promise.
So they deliberately misinterpreted Ysera's invitation and the two got into a fight.
Yes, not in bed, but in an octagonal cage.
Atansas, filled with resentment and shame, truly fought ruthlessly, but Kars had endured so many years and consumed so much taurine porridge all for this moment.
Yes, yes, that's it, that's it, that's the speed, that's the intensity! Flask, that nameless old Eldar war shaman, you must live! You must live until the day I, Kaz, master my divine skills!
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!
After a major battle, Katz's prestige within the newly established Blood Duck Eighth Company increased by 3 again.
To be able to hold his own against the Spirit Clan's Si Zhan Zhendao for half an hour without being at a disadvantage, the [Destroyer's Blade] truly lives up to its name.
Then, the final payment for the Ishimura was made, and it set sail.
Despite encountering many idle Astartes along the way, the fact that the Imperial establishment is short of personnel does not change simply because Chaos traitors and defectors are everywhere in Astartes.
Even in the hazy star field, as long as you are far away from the Cardia defense line and the surrounding star sectors, there are plenty of planetary worlds that haven't been visited by the Astartes Chapter for three to five hundred years.
"Use people without doubting them, and don't use people you don't trust." Katz didn't care how Trois got in touch with the old pharmacist, but Katz could only ask three times at most. If he asked a fourth time, don't blame the Eighth Company Commander for being ruthless.
You refuse to join our Blood Duck Battle Clan because you think our name sounds bad. If you can't find a reason, then don't. Are you looking for trouble?
Ovisa hadn't expected the Taliman brothers to be so rude; he'd probably suffered a lot of injustice over the years.
During the Legion era, the hierarchy was extremely strict. During the Caliban Civil War, only a handful of people, including Luther, probably knew exactly how many native Caliban Astartes were on the planet's surface.
But there must be at least six to eight thousand, otherwise they wouldn't be fighting so fiercely with the Primarch's fleet.
Trois was already considered cheerful and outgoing to know around two thousand fallen angels, so he had no interaction with the apothecary brothers, the Talimans.
Trois's first visit was unpleasant; Taliman's message was clear: get out of here and stop interfering with my retirement.
So the second time, Ovisa went.
A pair of coded messages, and Ovisa took off his tactical helmet—hey, they really do have a connection.
Taliman's tone softened somewhat, but his attitude remained firm: "I'm a cripple, I'm useless now, so you don't need to nag me anymore. Brother Ovisa, I'm begging you, let's go."
So the third time, Katz personally led the team, including Choon, to personally invite him.
This is ridiculous! It's already the M41 era, and the Astartes is missing limbs, is that a big deal?
"Qiong En, put his broken leg back on!"
Believe it or not, in places like the Pirate Starport Space Black Market, Kaz actually managed to get a lot of good stuff that was impossible to obtain through the Empire's official channels.
It's just a cut on the middle of my calf from a power sword, no big deal.
If conditions permit in the future, it wouldn't be a problem to directly train a new foot using mechanical teaching methods.
The Empire's only problem is its terrible logistics and distribution mechanisms; top-notch biomedical technology has always been a matter of eligibility.
Taliman wanted to retaliate, but Katz was backed by a group of thugs, and Trois and Ovisa kept signaling to him in code not to fight back.
So, in just over ten minutes, Choun completed the adjustment of the bionic prosthesis and restored Taliman's broken leg.
"It's lighter."
Taliman wanted to shout and rebuke, wanted to righteously refuse, but the feeling of being free to move around again... was wonderful.
Without wasting words, Qiong En disassembled it, added weights, and put it back together.
It sank.
Damn it, even Poor En has a temper. He just threw a file at Taliman and told him to go play by himself. He wasn't going to serve the technical sergeant anymore.
After standing up and walking around a few times, and stomping his feet a couple of times, Taliman finally relented.
"It's very expensive to ask me to do something."
"I don't expect you to get more than your fair price, just something that's good value for money. If you want something, just go to the storeroom after you get on the ship."
After saying that, Kaz turned and left with his men, leaving only Trois and Obiza to help Taliman put on his power armor.
Oh, even Qiongen was stopped by Trois.
Because Taliman's power armor is missing a leg, the technical sergeant has to help out temporarily.
"What's the point of wearing anything? Pack it up and take it back to the foundry. Without proper tools, how am I supposed to fix it?"
Thinking about it, that makes sense; the problem of getting pharmacists on board is solved just like that.
But Katz wasn't in a hurry to leave.
To escape the pursuit of the Dark Angels, Taliman deliberately chose a wild and untamed world to live as a savage.
In this world, the empire collects tithes only once every three hundred years, and its industrial capacity is at the level of continental Europe on the eve of the First World War in ancient Terra.
However, remote and impoverished areas often breed unruly people, so using this place as a source of soldiers is not a bad choice.
The local governor couldn't tell the difference between the blood ducks and the blood crows at all; he only knew that the lords of Astartes were coming to him to select new recruits, which was a great thing.
Of course it's a good thing. Having been "harmed" by Astartes, we can get a deduction for the next tithe.
The loyalist factions certified by the Empire are not just punching bags who are always getting the short end of the stick; they have all sorts of benefits and perks.
Although Blood Duck has not yet been "certified by the Empire," Kaz is extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the matter. His fake certificates are more convincing than the real ones. Some bewildered warbands with broken traditions or newly established ones may not understand the limits and boundaries of this matter as well as Commander Kaz.
So most of the guild members were a bit confused. Ah, if you want new blood, why don't you just grab them directly? Why do you have to choose?
This is awful, so incredibly awful. The Chaos Astartes are really damn sloppy when they do things, it's unbearable to watch.
No wonder the Four Gods bestowed so many blessings upon them; even the Chaos Astartes could only manage a stalemate with the loyalist Astartes of the Empire, and they always suffered defeats in large-scale battles.
This is a classic case of losing at the starting line.
Flood irrigation is not advisable, and casting a net of destruction is inefficient. The Blood Duck Alliance only gave out one hundred spots, and the eyes of three million eligible teenagers on the planet were green with envy.
Although the selection rate didn't reach one in 100,000, it was still one in 30,000, which is still better than the Chaos War Gang's practice of replacing one person with another after they die.
"With so many demon hosts on board, won't that affect the mental health of the new recruits?"
"Lies don't hurt, but the truth is the sharpest knife. Tell the new blood directly that there are a lot of warp evil on the ship, then strengthen the surveillance, and eliminate anything that seems amiss. Do you think Astartes is treating you like a dinner party? Do I need to teach you that?"
