The Astartes Family's Notebook

Why not Tyrant?
Tyrant led a tactical squad to the starport to gather intelligence.
In the Milky Way, not every suitable location has a planet suitable for human habitation, so starports came into being.
For example, the famous Wandering Harbor and Midnight Harbor.
However, compared to the large starports registered with the Empire, it was mostly an unknown small port that served as a black market and space tavern.
After the collapse of the Eldar Empire, Eldar pirate raiders also had to rely on these mixed-use sector ports to sell their loot and exchange it for intelligence.
If it's another mission, Kaz might be taken along to broaden his horizons.
However, even if the Astartes were to face Eldar pirates, they could still be defeated if they were not careful.
Therefore, Tyrant brought along veterans from the Fourth Company who were considered to be among the best in the Galaxy Oil Company.
Katz is not qualified.
Unarmored against armored, and power armor at that—how could Eldar tribe warriors create such an overwhelming power disparity against Astartes?
Ingus, you're probably not simulating the Phoenix Lord, are you?
Although I understand that Motor Sich was deliberately using excessive force to warn the recruits, it went too far, really too far.
The Eldar aren't all warriors. Their physical structure is different from humans, which gives them an edge in agility. However, the Eldar are fragile, with high agility but low defense.
If every Eldar pirate had Ingus's skills, the Empire might as well surrender sooner rather than later, since surrendering means losing half the battle.
His inner turmoil didn't affect Kars's desire to win.
He wasn't this competitive before, but after the modification surgery, Katz changed; the gene seed subtly altered his thinking.
He just wants to win.
Then, despite their best efforts, they could not win.
Katz apologizes for not being able to satisfy Lord Ingus.
Dealing with the new recruits was just a minor incident. As someone who had been through it all, Motor Sich knew all too well what kind of people the Astartes recruits were.
They're either megalomaniacs or autistic; they're either leaning to the left or the right.
The main character is one who is mentally strong but immature.
The recruits from Frankish III are truly of high quality and have high stats. I haven't seen the Astartes training methods used by Motor Sich during the Legion era, so I don't know about them, but in the Warband era, the biotechnology and technical methods of the Mechanicus are indeed superior to those of the Astartes.
Not only was Katz a joke, but Motor Sich was also very satisfied with the other recruits.
After acquiring their homeworld, the Chapter has begun establishing its own Chapter Monastery within the Desolation Wings.
The new recruits trained by the Desolate Wings on their home planet were also received in two batches by all companies except the Fourth Company.
Tsk, it's not the kids' fault. After being a ship-based combat group for so many years, it's the Wasteland Wings' own problem.
Stopping his unfounded associations, Motor Sich secretly added another mark against Katz in his mind.
The current plan is for the Fourth Company Commander to choose a strategy that tackles the difficult parts first and then the easier ones.
Let's deal with the Eldar pirates first.
Because at this time, the entire company was assembled, which was when the Fourth Company was at its strongest.
Then go deal with the rebellious planet.
So that the local Astral Army can be liberated.
Finally, we focused all our efforts on fighting the green-skinned orcs.
If the green-skinned orcs are too tough to handle and require a desperate fight, then use honor points and favors to recruit more Astral Army soldiers, and borrow half a company of combat brothers from the Second Company.
At the most optimistic estimate, this operation will likely take three to five years to conclude.
Hopefully the damage won't be too severe.
Chapter 60 The Nest-Catching Immortal
You can't keep a mother from leaving her child, and you can't catch a wolf without sacrificing your wife.

The four ships of the Wasteland Wings do not have any destroyers or frigates, and even the Pioneer Star is a converted Tyrant-class heavy cruiser.
That would be a big problem.
With just the two main warships, the Victory Balance and the Pioneer Star, the four Eldar could engage in a firefight in space combat against the Ark Eldar.
However, Eldar pirate raiders, especially Dark Eldar raiders, are faster than any of those who are obsessed with married women or Wallaces.
Based on past experience, the best way to deal with small to medium-sized Eldar pirate raids is to capture and kill the main force.
Otherwise, those long-eared brats would never stop.
Destroyers, especially the Empire's newest Firestorm-class destroyers or speed-modified Cobra-class destroyers, are all capable of playing catch-up with Eldar pirates.
Unfortunately, while the destroyers are fast enough, their firepower and protection are lacking, making them vulnerable to ambushes or boarding by the Eldar.
Therefore, to deal with a single Eldar raider, you would need at least two Imperial destroyers, or even three, to be safe.
As for light cruisers, don't underestimate them. The entire naval base is supported by Mother Helena.
Oops, wrong channel. The swarm hasn't arrived yet.
Light cruisers are classified as capital ships in the Empire.
The tonnage differences between other ship types are huge, representing significant gaps.
The only exception is the classification of light cruisers and heavy cruisers. The largest difference in tonnage between the two is no more than six million tons, and they generally fluctuate around three million tons.
The main reason for this situation was the Imperial Navy's clear tactical positioning.
The tonnage difference between light and heavy cruisers is mainly reflected in their self-sufficiency. Heavy cruisers are designed for long-range operations, and theoretically, a single replenishment can enable them to independently carry out single-ship operations for five to ten years. Considering the Empire's excellent habit of redundancy, going thirty years without returning to port is not a big deal.
But light cruisers are not suitable.
Light cruisers are fast-response warships that have reduced firepower and endurance in pursuit of higher speed. They cannot operate without logistical support for extended periods, and their typical cruising cycle is only three months to a year.
Therefore, the best option to deal with Eldar pirates is to send a light cruiser with three to five escort ships and seven or eight destroyers to conduct a thorough search and annihilate them in one battle.
With the firepower protection of frigates, destroyers are not afraid of being at a disadvantage in gun battles.
With the cruiser delivering the decisive blow, the Eldar pirates' raiding ships couldn't stir up any trouble.
Furthermore, the Empire's three types of warships all have suitable speeds, and it would be a waste not to use them to fight the Eldar pirates.
However, this troubled subsector is also plagued by planetary rebellions and Ork invasions, leaving the sector fleet with no capacity to deal with Eldar pirates.
It's alright. When Astartes arrives, justice will prevail. When the Wings of Desolation arrive, the blue sky will appear.
That damned old scoundrel Leothus of the Inquisition didn't even know to pre-allocate a corvette. What are you expecting the Fourth Company to do? Play hide-and-seek with Eldar pirates using combat barges?
Despite being harassed by Eldar pirates, the planet has hive cities, and the ruling class can still manage to get by even with their eyes closed.
The Victory Balance has docked in planetary orbit, and the Motor Sich has gone to extort the old men of Nest City.
As for the Eldar pirates, let the Pirates of the Frontier deal with them.
How to deal with it?
Starting from the human empire, they have been enemies for ten thousand years. The stereotypes between them are ingrained in their DNA and cannot be changed.
What other way is there to deal with it? Set up an ambush, a tactic that both sides have used to death but still works.
The information gap meant that the Dark Eldar were unaware that the Quadrant had taken on the Inquisition's duties, and that the Quadrant's fleet didn't seem to be configured for bandit suppression.
Tyrande made no attempt to disguise herself, brazenly approaching the nominal head of Starport and stating that she wanted to provide an STC template, instructing the local power brokers at Starport to spread the word.
This is a big deal! If anyone else were to sell stolen goods on the black market, the local thugs would already be tempted to steal openly or covertly.
The problem is that the Astartes are here, and not even wild Astartes; other people's heavy cruisers are parked outside the starport.
I've seen the look in their eyes; they're a formidable force crossing the river. I dare not provoke them; I'll just make some commission.
A set of STC templates is a piece of junk that can be traded for a planet. Even if you only get a little bit of scraps, you can still make a living.
Gentlemen of Astartes, this way please. Your expenses are all covered by our Starport.
Believe it or not, the seemingly shabby Star Harbor actually has a lot of good stuff to offer.
Eldar psychic prophecies are very accurate. If the Desolation Wings' four-man squad hadn't failed to sell their STC set, their fabricated lies probably wouldn't have fooled these sharp-eared people.
Tyrant was a ruthless man who had fought hard battles against the Eldar. He knew that the Ark Eldar, the Dark Eldar, and the Savage Eldar were all nonsense; they were all the same kind of people.
They all look the same anyway; just changing their armor and paint job, the Ark Eldar have been impersonating the Dark Eldar to join pirate raids for over a thousand or two thousand years.
Otherwise, how could the Dark Eldar, who are nominally forbidden from using psionic energy, be so difficult to capture?
They're all in cahoots, snakes and rats in the same den. Those who aren't of our kind are bound to have different hearts. If you see any pointed ears, just kill them. If you're bored and have nothing better to do, go check their ID cards.
Upon discovering that Starport had a large quantity of high-end goods of dubious origin, Tyrant notified the technical sergeant to bring men to sweep them up.
The local thugs in Starport finally believed that the Wings of Desolation were not a group of penniless bastards looking to freeload, but rather a major client genuinely ready to do business.
After all, Throne Coins and Eye of Fear can also circulate, and who doesn't love the Emperor's generosity?
Many people may wonder, given that the human empire is a fragmented feudal theocratic regime, and the local currency of a planet cannot circulate between different sub-sectors within the same star sector, what magic does this Throne Coin possess that allows it to be used throughout the entire empire, and is recognized by both aliens and heretics.
The uneducated kid was punished by having to review his junior high school politics textbook again.
Gold is naturally a form of currency.
What else could the Throne Coin be besides gold?
As is well known, in the vast Milky Way, only two extremely rare astronomical phenomena—supernova explosions and neutron star collisions—can produce large quantities of gold.
Therefore, the scarcity of gold, a heavy metal, is self-evident.
But gold coins are gold coins. Why are the Throne Coins and Aquila Coins minted by Holy Terra more valuable than other gold coins and entitled to a minting tax?
Because Divine Terra added technology and hardcore gameplay.
There are many mints in the Sun Starfield that can produce Eagle Union coins, but only those produced by Holy Terra are Throne coins.
Because Holy Terra used a large amount of technology from the Dark Ages when minting its coins, Throne coins differ from wild gold in both their metallographic properties and metallic characteristics. Eagle Union coins at most use two isotopes of gold as anti-counterfeiting measures, while Throne coins have thirteen well-known anti-counterfeiting measures on the black market alone.
Gold 113, let alone counterfeiting, this kind of thing that challenges common chemical knowledge, there are five other types in the Throne Coins.
The company's technical sergeant, along with three combat comrades, carried a large box full of Throne Coins to the Starport. Finally, some foolish thieves couldn't resist taking advantage of the situation.
But eight Astartes are enough to wipe out the entire starport; surely the nearly new sky lanterns hanging on the streetlights can calm everyone else down.
The bait has been set; now it's just a matter of when the sharp-eared fish will take the bait.
Chapter 61 Sakaban Softshell Turtle
Katz, Nigel, come back, Laozi, Shudao Mountain.
-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
Most ordinary citizens of the Empire who were fortunate enough to come into contact with the Eldar had a very good initial impression of them.
Powerful, beautiful, and immortal, just like that woman and that deck of cards.
But if life were only as beautiful as the first meeting, then every second meeting would be a bitter regret.
The Eldar, these [beep] creatures, although they have only recently taken on human form, are more human-like than the First Legion in its mad state.
In short, he's a piece of trash.
There's no need to delve into the subtle differences between the Dark Eldar, the Ark Eldar, and the Savage Eldar; they're all birds of a feather, killing them is no wrongdoing.
Although the Eldar of the Ark openly maintains official contact with the Empire and appears to be a neutral galactic force that can be won over, in reality, only the Ark world of Usvi has managed to maintain a facade of neutrality. When other Ark worlds send people to the Dark Eldar's pirate raiders, they don't care about neutrality; they're just after the Human Empire because it has more people.
Even worse, the so-called Dark Eldar pirates are just Eldar from the Ark world in disguise.
They have a terrible conscience.
Although the Eldar pirates encountered in the Desolation Wings' four-part encounter are of unknown origin, it's safe to assume that there are psionicists who can make prophecies.
Motor Sich destroyed three nests in total.
The Victory Balance, Eldar pirates dared to board, the fighting brothers of the Fourth Company could laugh in their dreams.
It's possible that the Eldar pirates are fools, but that's unlikely.
