“You don’t welcome me?” Sif raised an eyebrow. “Asgard isn’t the Kree Empire.”
“Xandar welcomes its guests,” Roman Day said ambiguously.
“Don’t worry, I’ll report it properly,” Sif said with a smile, then swiftly boarded the warship and beckoned to Li Ai, saying:
"Hurry up, the situation is urgent, we need to make multiple jumps in a short period of time."
Volstagg was injured in the battle against the Annihilation Zerg, and Xandar has a medicine that is very effective in healing Volstagg's injuries, so Sif is going to Xandar to buy the medicine.
Upon hearing this, Li Ai also boarded the warship. Leaning against the edge of the deck, he waved to Sam and said:
"See you at Xandar, Sam."
"Okay, see you at Shipyard Number One on Xandar."
Afterwards, Li Ai followed Sif into the cabin. Leaning against the wall, he asked Sif, who was starting up the warship:
"So, what's this Kree Empire you're talking about?"
“The Kree, they’re warlike, but not in the same way the Asgardians are,” Sif said as she set the destination.
"Asgardians regard battle as honor, while Kree regard battle as everything and will abandon all desires for battle. All resources will be invested in the war, and every piece of supplies will be incorporated into the planning of a biological computer called the 'Supreme Intelligence'. Even though some peace-loving Kree have emerged in recent years, it has not changed the huge war machine of the Kree Empire."
“A military-state system?” Li Ai was wary of this system. He had some impression of the ‘supreme intelligence’ that Sif mentioned when he watched a movie in his previous life.
In simple terms, in order to make more efficient decisions, the Kree poured the wisdom of their race into a biological computer, making it the de facto supreme ruler of the Kree Empire.
“I’m afraid that while we’re talking, the Kree will have already launched another war of conquest on a habitable planet,” Sif said sarcastically.
It seems that the true Asgardians look down on the Kree's behavior of "conquering for the sake of conquering".
As they spoke, the warship had already sailed away from Nidavellir and was about to initiate a wormhole jump.
“It sounds like your hatred for the Kree could fill an entire book,” Li Ai joked.
"Because they provoked Asgard in the past, maintained a state of war with the Shi'ar Empire for many years, and their history of entanglement with the Skrulls is measured in millennia. In recent decades, they have even extended their war to the Nova Corps." Sif briefly described the Kree's 'glorious history'.
This gave Li Ai a general understanding of the Kree Empire.
After dozens of wormhole jumps, Li Ai and Sif arrived at Shipyard One on Xandar.
Sif went to the merchant she had contacted to buy medicine, while Li Ai waited for Sam and the others.
“Sir, you’re in really good shape.” Sam’s voice came from behind. “You completed the same number of wormhole jumps as us in a shorter time, and without showing any side effects. You’re just like Karl El.
“Sam, you’ve used that easily misunderstood name again,” Roman Day said, rubbing his temples as he removed his helmet.
Li Ai knew that Kal-El was Superman's Kryptonian name in DC Comics, but why did the Nova Corps say that the name was easily misunderstood?
"What? There's someone in the universe with the same name as Body of Steel?" Li Ai looked at Sam curiously.
“There’s a powerful figure in the Shi’ar Empire named Karlak. It’s said that he can travel through space at a hundred times the speed of light and can even tear stars apart with his bare hands,” Sam said as he took off his helmet.
When Sam took off his helmet, Li Ai saw a boyish face about the same age as Peter. He had a sunny expression and gave off a very refreshing feeling.
"One hundred times the speed of light, tearing stars apart with bare hands..." Li Ai recounted the deeds Sam had told him, and couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the vast universe.
“You can also call him Swordsman; that’s the captain of the Shia Empire’s guard,” Roman added, then extended his hand to Li Ai, saying:
"Let me upgrade that old translator for you. The one you're using is too outdated. It's definitely not complete in terms of language packs, and it doesn't have the ability to read other languages. It's really not convenient to use."
"Thanks, Mr. Roman." Li Ai took off the earphone-style translator from around her neck and handed it over.
"I'll have to trouble Sam to guide you during this time." Roman took the earphone-type translator.
“Come with me, sir.” Sam put his helmet back on, his Nova uniform materializing in the blink of an eye. He lifted his feet off the ground and reached out to Li Ai.
"Let me take you flying with me, that way it'll be faster."
"No need." Li Ai smiled slightly, the cloak on her left shoulder fluttering in the wind, also hovering in the air. "There are no speed limits on Xandar, right?"
"According to Earth's algorithm, on Xandar, unless wartime control is implemented, the speed of aircraft and individuals is not allowed to exceed 200 kilometers per hour."
After saying that, Li Ai lifted her feet off the ground in front of Sam, "Two hundred kilometers per hour, that speed is just right."
Sam looked surprised to see that a human from Earth could take off without any equipment.
Chapter 194 The Holiday Ends
"Wow, is this a feature of your armor?" Sam asked in surprise.
"It's part of my superpower; there are many superpowered people on Earth now," Li Ai said as she slowly gained altitude.
"You lead the way, I don't want to be shot down as an unknown person."
"Okay." Sam raised his hands to the sky, his body enveloped in the power of the new star, which appeared as blue energy, allowing him to reach a flight speed of 200 kilometers per hour in just a few breaths.
Two figures, one in blue and one in black, flew over Xandar.
Since the flight speed wasn't particularly fast, Li Ai was also able to take the opportunity to observe the scenery below.
Compared to the literal, opulent Asgard, Xandar's architecture is more refreshing and bright, with various holographic projections and flying vehicles fulfilling Earthlings' fantasies about the future world.
Soon, Li Ai and his companion landed in the residential area of the Nova Corps members. They walked through clean and tidy roads, took the elevator, and arrived at Sam's apartment floor.
"Just find somewhere to sit down, this whole floor is mine," Sam said, looking at the messy room.
Li Ai didn't say much. The messy apartment only made him feel that Sam was still a fifteen-year-old boy. He smiled and said:
"It seems the Nova Corps values you highly."
“They say I could become the next Rising Star Supreme.” Sam took off his helmet, scratched the back of his head, and said nervously:
“But I don’t know what that means. Uncle Roman just told me that I wasn’t ready. It was okay when Dad was still alive, but after he sacrificed himself in the battle against the Annihilation Zerg, I would just lie in bed thinking about Mom when I didn’t have missions or training.”
As Sam spoke, he found a box and held it in his arms as if it were a family member.
Seeing this, Li Ai understood that the box contained Sam's father's ashes, and he didn't know how to comfort Sam, who had lost his father at a young age.
"What's your mother's name?" Li Ai tried to change the subject.
“Her name is Eva Alexander, and she’s a primary school teacher.” Sam answered every question, stopping his tidying up and turning to ask:
"Mr. Li Ai, why would you ask this?"
Li Ai crossed her arms and said confidently, "I have some influence in New York, so I was thinking about whether I could help improve your mother's living conditions."
"Is that so? But my parents have always taught me to seize opportunities with my own hands, so wouldn't that be..." Sam seemed a little hesitant.
“Your family upbringing is truly excellent,” Li Ai interrupted, rising from his chair and walking over to Sam to offer words of comfort.
"But this is also part of seizing opportunities on your own, so you don't need to feel ashamed."
"Ah."
Sam nodded heavily, quickly packed his belongings, and then left the apartment with Li Ai, heading towards Dock One.
When the two returned to Dock One, Sif and Roman Day had been waiting for them for a long time.
"Sir, this is the upgraded translator. I've added text reading functionality and updated the language pack." Roman Day handed the upgraded headphone translator to Li Ai.
Li Ai reached out and took the upgraded headset translator, saying, "Thank you for your help, Mr. Roman."
Compared to the previous version, the headphone translator now features a green lens that covers the right eye, reminding Li Ai of the power level scanner in Dragon Ball Z.
"It's nothing," Roman waved his hand and laughed. "Just take good care of Sam for me."
"Don't worry, I'll find him some like-minded friends," Li Ai said with a smile.
"Goodbye, Mr. Roman." Sam, carrying a bag, nodded to Roman in farewell.
At this moment, Sif, carrying a small temperature-controlled box, said to the three of them:
"Time waits for no one; there are still patients waiting for Nidave to take the medication."
Upon hearing this, Li Ai and Sam boarded the Asgardian warship.
Sif activated the warship, moved away from Xandar, and initiated a wormhole jump. After dozens more jumps, the three returned to Nidavellir and injected Volstagg with the special medicine.
After receiving the injection, Vostagg returned to his agile, fat self.
"That's awesome, that's the feeling! I want to kill another ten thousand bugs!" Vostagg said, clutching his stomach, full of energy.
"Don't make any sudden movements, or the wound won't reopen," Hogan, clad in black armor, solemnly reminded him.
Of the Warriors Three of Asgard, the serious-looking Hogan is actually the strongest. In the original timeline's Hela's return event, Volstagg and Fandral were both instantly killed, while only Hogan lasted a few more rounds.
“I know, it’s a pity I missed the banquet and couldn’t challenge the guests’ appetites with Thor,” Volstagg said regretfully.
"There will be more in the future," Li Ai comforted her.
“Then I will look forward to that day, the guest from afar.” Volstagg laughed heartily, clutching his belly, his thick beard trembling with laughter.
Thor glanced at his two friends who had survived the ordeal, then looked at Li Ai and asked:
"My father said you didn't have much time this time. Are you going back to Midgard now?"
"Wait a moment." Li Ai waved his right hand, and a small teleportation portal appeared, with the ZZZ phone falling directly into his hand.
The ZZZ phone displays the same time as Earth, allowing Li Ai to know that a day and a half has passed on Earth.
“I really should go.” Li Ai nodded, then glanced at Vostagg and Hogan, and asked Thor:
"Thor, can your two friends withstand the strain of wormhole jumps?"
“It’s alright, we can return to Asgard on our own,” Hogan said.
"You two be careful too." Thor patted his two friends on the shoulder, then left first.
Li Ai, Thor, Sam, and Sif returned to Asgard aboard a warship.
When Li Ai arrived at the place where he had entered Asgard, the Ancient One had already opened a portal and was waiting for him, with the 'gifts' that Li Ai had selected from the vault laid out beside him.
“Let’s go. Once we step through that portal, we’ll be on Earth,” Li Ai said as she used the Surge Capsule to send the ‘gift’ into the portal.
At the highest point of Asgard, Odin and Frigga watched Thor as he was about to leave.
Frigga's eyes were filled with reluctance as she watched Thor step into the portal, and she said hopefully:
"Hopefully, Thor will get what he wants from this trip to Earth."
“Thor will leave us sooner or later,” Odin said meaningfully, his gaze deep.
"I just hope he can awaken his power before that day comes."
Chapter 195 Wow, Captain America is alive!
Earth, America, New York, at dusk
Li Ai, Thor, and Sam appeared on the lawn outside the Avengers base, with a wrecked circular flying saucer behind them.
"Wow, is this the Avengers base you mentioned, Mr. Li Ai?" Sam exclaimed, looking at the Avengers base not far away.
"Wait a moment, I'm looking for someone to be my tour guide," Li Ai said as she took out her personal terminal to send messages to the others.
This commotion attracted Tony, who was testing the new armor in the air. He spotted Li Ai wearing a black and silver light armor, Thor and Sam beside him, and that pile of stuff. He then adjusted his direction and landed in front of Li Ai.
"Oh, looks like you're going for a magical theme today." Tony opened his visor and teased Li Ai:
"Looks like you're having a great time in Asgard."
“That’s a really nice place,” Li Ai said with a smile, then introduced Tony to the two people who had returned to Earth with him.
"Tony, this is Thor, the God of Thunder, the prince of Asgard."
He really looks like the male lead in the movie Point Break… Tony thought to himself as he looked at Thor, but he said aloud:
"I've heard of Norse mythology, Thor, the strongest god in all of Asgard."
Before leaving, Li Ai sent a message to all the Avengers, telling them that she was going to Asgard in Norse mythology this weekend.
“It will be in the future.” Thor smiled smugly. He neither denied nor refused.
“This boy’s name is Sam Alexander. He’s fifteen years old and should be in high school, but he got some alien equipment by accident and has been traveling outside for a long time,” Li Ai told Tony.
"I'm about the same age as your group..." Tony said, rubbing his beard.
“But taking care of children isn’t my forte. Let him show you around the Avengers base instead.”
After saying this, Tony looked behind him and saw Steve, dressed in casual clothes, walking towards Sam.
"Hello, my name is Steve Rogers, you can also call me Captain America." Steve introduced himself to the two with a sunny smile.
Upon seeing Steve, Sam's eyes lit up, and he exclaimed excitedly, "Wow, it's Captain America alive!"
