"Cheng Fei, you're only mean to me verbally. You don't actually want to hit me. Don't think I can't tell." The arrogant girl shrank back as she looked at him, then seemed to muster her courage and, still lying down, raised her chin at him, giving off a defiant vibe.
"Miss Lin, is your memory really that short? You forgot about the beating you received just two days ago." The young man frowned, thought for a moment, then continued with his own business, his tone nonchalant, "Don't force me to slap you again."
Lin Xuanqi blinked, her usually spirited eyes reddening and moistening. She took a deep breath, straightened up, and brought her face close to his, her tone stubborn, "Fine, hit me as much as you want, I'd love to."
After she finished speaking, she closed her eyes slightly and remained motionless, as if she was not afraid at all. Only her long eyelashes trembled slightly, proving that her heart was not at peace.
Cheng Fei looked up again, gazing at the flawless little face before him. After a brief silence, he lowered his head again, the pen tip scratching against the paper.
Lin Xuanqi waited a moment, and finding that nothing had happened, she opened her eyes and stared at the boy with a cold look. "If you want to hit me, then hit me. I've already let you hit me, so why aren't you hitting me?"
“I’m not interested. I suggest you hurry up and make an appointment with a psychiatrist.” The boy didn’t look at her.
"Why aren't you interested? If you hate me, then hit me. Hit me all you want, until you stop hating me." The arrogant girl crossed her arms on the table and leaned her upper body closer to him.
"Shut up, I'm not interested in joking with you." The boy's tone became impatient.
"I'm not joking, I'm serious, Cheng Fei, hit me, just like that day." The girl persisted, suddenly grabbing his wrist as he was writing.
Because of this action, the boy's pen drew a long black arc on the paper.
"Tsk." Cheng Fei looked at her expressionlessly.
"I'm sorry," Lin Xuanqi said quickly, a hint of unease flashing in her eyes. She then swallowed hard, looking at the boy cautiously. "Are you angry? Are you going to hit me? Come on then."
After the girl finished speaking, she looked up at the boy, her eyes filled with tears and a hint of fear, yet she stared at him expectantly.
Cheng Fei stared at the girl, momentarily frozen in place.
The two stood facing each other for a while in a corner of the classroom by the window.
Then, the boy sighed and pretended to continue working, "Lin Xuanqi, be normal for once."
"Honey, why don't you hit me?" The girl grabbed his hand as he was about to pick up a pen, her face showing urgency. "Hit me like that day, hit me hard, I'm not afraid."
"Are you crazy? Let go." The boy tried to shake her off, but found that the girl was holding on tightly to him.
"Honey, if you want to hit me, just do it already, okay? Hit me now."
"I'm telling you to let go, or don't blame me for being impolite."
"Fine, I want you to be rude to me."
Are you out of your mind?
"Mind your own business. If you really care about me, take me to the hospital!"
"Neuropathy."
During this conversation, the two started pulling at each other, attracting the attention of some students taking a lunch break in the classroom.
Despite Lin Xuanqi's strong desire, the boy ultimately did not lay a hand on her. Instead, he grabbed her wrist and forcefully pried her fingers apart one by one.
During this process, the arrogant girl, her eyes darting around in pain, had no choice but to let go of the boy's hand. She covered her fingertips and stared intently at him, blinking as crystal tears slid down her cheeks and fell onto his desk.
"You went crazy and then started crying. What do you want?" The boy asked, puzzled.
"I just want you to hit me," the girl said, her voice trembling with tears.
"Impossible, don't even dream about it." The boy said without hesitation, already regretting that he had acted on his impulse that day.
If we hit her here, who knows what rumors those hopeless Sakura students would spread.
"Cheng Fei, don't force me." Lin Xuanqi gritted her teeth, her expression resolute.
"What do you want now?" The boy felt a chill run down his spine.
"Either you hit me now, or I'll pester you until you get angry, and then I'll hit you." The arrogant girl sniffed.
"You," the boy hesitated, "you may not care about shame, but I do."
Lin Xuanqi glanced around the classroom, instantly silencing the gossipy gazes. She then looked at the boy, realizing something, and asked, "So you're afraid I'll embarrass myself, that's why you don't want to hit me?"
"Stop daydreaming." The boy was even more impatient.
"Well," the girl opened her mouth, her tone tinged with a hint of probing, "how about you punish me instead?"
"Punish you my foot! That's impossible!" the boy glared at her irritably. "Can you please stop bothering me?"
"Then you can order me to do one thing, anything you want, and I won't bother you today, okay?" The girl's eyes darted around as she quickly said.
"I have nothing to order you around." The boy stopped looking at her.
"I'll keep bothering you unless you give the order." The girl leaned forward, getting closer to him, as if threatening him.
"Now I command you to take one breath. Okay, stop bothering me." The boy didn't even look up.
"No, that doesn't count. Let's do it again." Lin Xuanqi peeked into his field of vision.
The boy stared at her with annoyance for a second, then said, "Go to the convenience store and buy me a bottle of water."
"Okay, what do you want to drink, cola? Tea?" The haughty girl's eyes widened slightly, and she became excited.
"Mineral water, thank you." The boy sighed, helpless.
"Okay, I'll go right away." Lin Xuanqi wiped her still red eyes, a happy smile appeared on her lips, and she immediately got up and walked out of the classroom, her graceful legs in high-end uniform shoes moving lightly.
Meanwhile, in the corridor outside the classroom, two figures, one tall and one short, were chatting while looking at the scenery below.
"By the way, Ruan Jingyi, I want to ask you something." Zhou Han blinked her round eyes and stared at her best friend, her expression becoming vacant at some point.
"Hmm?" The quiet girl tilted her head.
"Did you and Cheng Fei do something behind my back again on Friday?"
“That day…” Ruan Jingyi’s eyes flickered, and her hand, hidden behind her back, clenched quietly.
Lin Xuanqi walked past the two of them, went down the teaching building, and quickly headed towards the convenience store outside the cafeteria.
"Shuangshuang, do you know what? Shen Xi did something really awful yesterday. How about you help me get revenge someday?" Nagasaki Asuna sat in the classroom, complaining to the twin-tailed girl in front of her with annoyance, then tilted her head to look at her. "Shuangshuang, are you listening?"
"Miss?" Ye Shuang turned her head and looked downstairs, seeing a familiar figure passing by the edge of the playground.
Lin Xuanqi took the most expensive bottle of mineral water from the convenience store and quickly returned to the teaching building.
"Oh, so that's all. I thought you were going to do something bad. Remember to tell me next time, and I can go with you. It's been a long time since I've seen your aunt and uncle." After hearing the truth, Zhou Han regained her energy and smiled at her best friend.
"Hmm." Ruan Jingyi nodded, her expression as always, and relaxed the hands that were hidden behind her back.
Lin Xuanqi, carrying a bottle of mineral water, quickly passed by the two of them, their eyes meeting.
Zhou Han's expression stiffened for a moment.
Ruan Jingyi silently looked away.
"What's wrong with you?" The arrogant girl stopped in her tracks, puzzled, a lingering smile on her lips. Although she looked like she had just cried and her eyes were red, she seemed to be in a very good mood.
The two were stunned and exchanged a glance.
"Never mind, we can talk later." Lin Xuanqi walked forward on her own and disappeared through the classroom door.
Zhou Han stared at the arrogant girl's retreating figure, opened his mouth, and asked, "Ruan Jingyi, has she gone mad?"
"Hmm?" The quiet girl frowned slightly and made a hesitant sound.
When Lin Xuanqi returned to her seat, Cheng Fei was still diligently writing in the corner, like an unchanging scene from time immemorial.
"Honey, water." The girl stood beside him, handing the item to him with a smile.
The boy frowned, but took the bottle anyway and placed it on the table.
Lin Xuanqi sat down and looked at him, her face full of expectation, a stark contrast to her previous listless demeanor. "Husband, aren't you going to drink?"
"I'm not thirsty," the boy said calmly, without even looking at her.
"How about I feed my husband with my mouth?" The arrogant young woman swallowed hard, a sickly look on her face.
"Not interested." The boy paused after speaking, then looked up and stared at her.
"What's wrong, honey? Are you thirsty now?" Lin Xuanqi blinked, resting her chin on her hands, her charming face brighter than the autumn sunlight outside the window.
"I'll say it again, I'm not your husband, stop calling me that." The boy emphasized.
"You are, my husband, my husband, my husband," the arrogant young woman said defiantly.
"If you bother me again, I won't be polite."
"Okay, honey."
The two ended their conversation, and as usual, the boy was busy with his own things with a cold expression, while the girl stared straight at him.
During the afternoon break, the class monitor with long, straight black hair walked up to the podium. Perhaps because of recent relationship troubles, her face didn't look too good. "As previously arranged, we'll be going to the indoor ski resort this weekend for acclimatization training. Everyone, please remember to make time."
After he finished speaking, he stepped down from the podium, leaving the people below to discuss it.
"Wow, will the acclimatization training be very rigorous, like weight training or polar survival?!"
"What's the temperature at the indoor ski resort? Do I need to wear a down jacket?"
"Can I ski? I've never seen snow before in my life!"
Amidst such comments, the students of Yinghua Academy continued their daily campus life.
946. Ye Shuang was punished.
The bell rang for the end of the last get out of class in the afternoon.
Shen Xi: Club activities for the next few days are cancelled. Please wait for official announcements.
Zhou Han: Anyone want to go get milk tea? Ruan Jingyi and I want to go.
Miriam: Miss Nagasaki, let's go get some bubble tea together!
Asuna Nagasaki: I'm on a diet, so I'm not going?
"Milian: Nagasaki-san, you must be exhausted. No wonder you have such a great figure, waaaaah..."
This message popped up among the official members of the Corridor Research Department.
Cheng Fei turned off his phone and packed his things to leave as usual.
The haughty young woman in the front seat turned around, staring intently at him, and asked tentatively in a soft voice, "Husband?"
“I told you, no one here is your husband.” The boy was busy packing his things into his bag, not even looking at her.
"Are you going to your club?" Lin Xuanqi tilted her head to observe him. "Or are you going home?"
"This is none of your business, is it?" The boy stood up and looked down at her.
The girl raised her head, her charming face downcast and meek. "If you go home, can you take me with you? I want to go to tutoring."
"Don't even dream about it," the boy said rudely, then turned and left.
Lin Xuanqi sat in her seat, staring at his back, her brows furrowed, and she gritted her teeth, her expression a mix of grievance and anger.
She glanced at the bottle of mineral water that had been sitting on the boy's desk since noon; it hadn't been drunk at all.
"Why are you being so fierce?" the girl muttered, picked up the water bottle, unscrewed the tap, took a sip, and gave a soft snort.
the other side.
A girl with pigtails, exuding the air of a well-bred young lady, stood outside the classroom of Class 6, silently watching the two people interacting in the corner by the window. When she saw the boy walking towards the door, her expression changed, she lowered her head, turned around and walked away. Her straight legs, encased in white over-the-knee socks, moved quickly, as if she were rushing home. Her beautiful face with its distinctive features captured the attention of the students along the way.
Cheng Fei caught up with her at an even faster pace, walking downstairs alongside her as if nothing had happened, as if the two of them had always been traveling together.
Ye Shuang was pondering Lin Xuanqi's matter, her head lowered and her eyes flickering, completely unaware of the boy's presence.
The two walked to the school gate, and the boy suddenly put his arm around her small shoulder, cleverly avoiding everyone's attention. Even the students nearby didn't notice what happened.
The well-behaved girl's petite body stiffened for a moment, then she abruptly raised her head, froze, and stared wide-eyed in disbelief. "Huh? Cheng Fei?!"
"Master Ye, why are you running so fast?" The boy stared into her eyes, his expression full of serious curiosity.
"I didn't run away." The girl bit her lip lightly, her eyes darting around. Then she came back to her senses, hurriedly looked around, twisted her shoulders, and her voice became uneasy, "You scumbag, let me go! There are so many people here!"
"Is Master Ye scared?" The young man still held her tightly, raising an eyebrow.
"What will happen if others see us?!" The obedient girl panicked even more, gripping the shoulder bag strap tightly with her small hands and constantly scanning her surroundings.
"Don't worry, no one saw us," the boy said without a hint of guilt. "Come with me."
As soon as he finished speaking, he put his arm around the girl with pigtails and walked towards the parking lot.
