"Garbage, when is this over?"
"Is Teacher Shen getting impatient?"
"Nonsense."
"Teacher Shen, Nana is fine. There's no need to look worried."
"Shut up, nobody here is worried about a vixen. It's best if she just cuts it off like this."
"So you're worried about your future self? Don't worry, I know Teacher Shen is in poor health and won't treat you like that."
"Cheng Fei."
Never mind what I said.
……
"Trash, do you enjoy staring at me that much?"
"Everyone says it feels even better now, you guys are so adorable."
"Shut up, won't that affect the results?"
"Probably not?"
"understood."
What are Teacher Shen's plans?
"Shut up."
……
So while the sweet girl with long coffee-colored hair buried her face and didn't dare to make a sound, the aloof girl with long black hair sat upright on the chair on the edge of the bed, observing everything in front of her expressionlessly.
Until a certain moment, when she noticed the boy looking at her, she blinked her pure, dark eyes, suddenly put her small hands on either side of her head, raised her index and middle fingers, tilted her head, and maintained her cold expression, as if she were doing something ordinary and insignificant.
"Oh no! Why is Cheng Fei suddenly like this?"
Nagasaki Asuna was caught off guard and struck a heavy blow.
……
The next day, early in the morning.
Shen Xi woke up earlier than ever before, and immediately ordered Cheng Fei to get up as soon as she opened her eyes.
So the boy, who had wanted to enjoy the perks a little longer, had to leave.
Breakfast was tomato and egg noodles cooked by the boy. After Shen Xi and Nagasaki Asuna finished washing up, they sat down in their usual seats.
In the quiet atmosphere, a cool girl with long black hair and a sweet girl with long brown hair bowed their heads to enjoy breakfast.
Asuna Nagasaki glanced up at the two of them, then quickly looked down to eat her noodles, her fingertips nervously twirling the ends of her hair.
Shen Xi noticed this out of the corner of her eye, her brows furrowed slightly, and she made no comment.
A subtle atmosphere enveloped the dining table.
"Nana, are you alright?" Cheng Fei asked calmly.
"It's nothing." Nagasaki Asuna patted her chest, letting out a small sigh of relief, her voice softening, "I just still feel a little ashamed."
"I didn't expect a vixen to be so nervous." Shen Xi chuckled.
For obvious reasons, Nagasaki Asuna appeared uneasy throughout, her reserved demeanor like a cat in front of a stranger.
"Teacher Shen, everyone says that Nana isn't as bad as you think," Cheng Fei said, shaking his head and sighing.
"Heh, maybe." Shen Xi remained noncommittal.
"So what were the results of Teacher Shen's observations?" the boy asked with great interest.
Perhaps because the date was wrong, Nagasaki Asuna didn't get a single chance to win a prize yesterday.
The aloof girl narrowed her eyes, her face turning displeased. "I didn't find anything."
"What a pity." The boy smacked his lips and slurped up his noodles.
"Trash, so you knew this would happen all along." Shen Xi kicked him under the table.
"Teacher Shen, don't try to turn the tables on me later. I warned you before." The boy said without any guilt.
Shen Xi gritted her teeth, remained silent for a moment, then shook her head. "Forget it, there's no loss anyway."
"As expected of Teacher Shen, he can always remain rational." The boy nodded in praise.
"By the way, I have a question." Nagasaki Asuna pursed her lips and stirred the noodles.
"Please speak," Cheng Fei said, looking at her.
"What does this mean?" The sweet girl tried placing her hands on either side of her head, mimicking the action of a certain Celestial Queen from yesterday, raising her index and middle fingers.
"This is..."
"It's none of your business."
Cheng Fei was about to speak when Shen Xi interrupted him coldly.
The aloof girl's gaze, filled with a chilling intensity, pierced him directly.
"Shen Xi is so cunning. She watched me do all those things, but all she did was move her legs." Nagasaki Asuna put down her hand and muttered in a complaining tone, puffing out one cheek.
"If anyone's to blame for this, it's Cheng Feiyu," the aloof girl sneered.
"Is this my fault too?" the boy asked in surprise, then gritted his teeth and rolled up his sleeves. "Shen Xi, you're finished."
"Trash, what do you want?!" The aloof girl's expression changed, and she became wary. "It's all because of you that we're in this kind of relationship, isn't it?"
"Fine, I was just kidding. You're just being stubborn. Anyway, it's kind of cute to be stubborn every day." The boy rolled up his sleeves again and continued eating his noodles.
Shen Xi kicked him under the table, and seeing that he didn't seem inclined to speak, she lowered her head and finished her food, while her brows furrowed as she stared into the distance, as if she were deep in thought about her research topic.
The atmosphere at the table then returned to quiet.
“Teacher Shen.” Cheng Fei observed the thoughtful little face.
"What?" Shen Xi glanced at him.
"Since things have come to this, I actually have a suggestion," the boy said seriously.
"Rejected." The aloof girl lowered her eyes.
"Sweetie, don't do that." The boy looked at her.
Shen Xi took a deep breath and said reluctantly, "Speak."
"How about the three of us have a proper date next time?" the boy asked earnestly.
"Huh?" Nagasaki Asuna's eyes widened slightly.
"Typical daydreaming. The real purpose of this is just for observation." Shen Xi said indifferently.
"Since we didn't find anything this time, Teacher Shen doesn't want to observe again?" the boy coaxed patiently.
"Nonsense. Even if we really need to observe again, it's for the research project, not some serious date between three people." The aloof girl glared at him.
"Teacher Shen, don't be so rigid. It's all observation anyway. Don't you think it's too boring like yesterday?" The boy shrugged.
Yesterday, she spent most of the time sitting on the chair watching, until finally she climbed up herself, put her legs together, and curled up in the boy's arms.
"Sorry, I have no interest in satisfying Cheng Feiyu's vulgar tastes." Shen Xi picked up her bowl and drank her soup, adopting an attitude of not wanting to pay any attention.
“Teacher Shen, you saw it yesterday too. Don’t you think Nana is actually quite obedient? I’m just suggesting that if you want to observe her again, you don’t have to be so serious. She gets nervous the way you are, and that might be why it’s not effective.” The boy said earnestly.
"Is it really because I affected the results?" The aloof girl was stunned.
The boy met her gaze for a second, then looked down and said, "No, I made it up."
"You incredibly boring Cheng Feiyu." Shen Xi gritted her teeth and gave him a blow under the table.
Asuna Nagasaki listened to their conversation while silently eating with her head down.
Shen Xi glanced at her subtly, her eyes flickering, took a deep breath, and raised her chin. "I will reconsider this topic later. Cheng Feiyu, stop stirring up trouble for your own despicable fantasies."
“Okay, I look forward to your next idea.” The young man nodded respectfully.
After the three of them finished breakfast, Shen Xi returned to her bedroom. When she reappeared, she had changed her clothes and was carrying a small crossbody bag, clearly intending to go out.
"Teacher Shen, you're not addicted to the internet today?" Cheng Fei, who had just finished cleaning the kitchen, noticed this and was surprised.
"I'm going to see someone surnamed Lin." The girl's face revealed neither joy nor anger.
"I'll go with you?" The boy's expression changed.
"No need." Shen Xi walked towards the entrance, then turned back halfway and glanced at him condescendingly. "Trash, you better watch yourself."
The boy looked at that meaningful little face and his expression hardened. "Understood, Teacher Shen, take care."
The girl gave a soft hum, put on her canvas shoes, and went out.
"Cheng Fei." Nagasaki Asuna appeared silently behind the boy.
"Nana, your stealth capabilities are as good as ever," the boy said, looking at her with admiration.
"Cheng Fei, the cat still wants the antidote, is that alright?" The girl asked, her hands behind her back, blinking her innocent and naive eyes.
"Wasn't yesterday enough?" the boy asked, puzzled.
"Because she kept staring like that, the cat didn't even notice." The girl shook her head.
"Idiot, you're such a coward."
"Cats are very timid, Cheng Fei, how about we go to her room?" the girl said softly.
The boy met her gaze for a second, then said, "Never mind."
"The cat can stay like this forever, doesn't Cheng Fei like it?" The sweet girl put her hands on either side of her head, tilting her head expressionlessly, giving off a strong sense of déjà vu.
The boy fell silent and led her into the bedroom.
928. Shen Xi simply looked at Nagasaki Asuna.
When Shen Xi stepped onto the quiet terrace, Lin Xuanqi was already sitting there.
The aloof young woman's gaze swept over the delicate tea and snacks on the table. She sat down opposite her and stared at her with an indifferent expression.
Lin Xuanqi lowered her head and fiddled with the empty teacup in front of her, her face expressionless, her red-rimmed eyes unblinking.
The atmosphere between the two remained deathly silent for a moment.
"If you're not going to talk, I'm going back." Shen Xi frowned slightly, her tone impatient.
"Try this?" Lin Xuanqi tentatively pushed a plate of tea and snacks in front of her, meeting the aloof girl's condescending gaze before subtly looking away.
"I'm not interested. I advise you not to beat around the bush. My patience is limited." Shen Xi said coldly without any change in expression.
"In such a hurry to go back and be with Cheng Fei?" Lin Xuanqi's lips twitched, a smile that was hard to decipher, whether it was self-deprecation or something else.
"Is this related to you?" Shen Xi's expression remained unchanged.
Lin Xuanqi took a deep breath, her eyes flickering, "Xiao Shuang told me everything."
The aloof girl ignored her and looked at the meticulously designed garden scenery outside the terrace.
"Shen Xi, I'm really curious about what you're thinking." Lin Xuanqi looked at the other person.
"It's none of your business." The aloof girl lowered her eyes.
"Are you planning to let him continue his womanizing ways?" Lin Xuanqi asked, her brows furrowed with doubt.
"Just say what you want to say, or I'm going back." Shen Xi said coldly and without any politeness.
Lin Xuanqi lowered her head, her brows furrowed, and she bit her lip, her conflicted expression suggesting she was engaged in a battle of wits.
Silence fell between them once again.
Shen Xi stared at her and sneered, "What's wrong? You weren't like this last year."
Lin Xuanqi gripped the teacup, her expression tightening. She opened her mouth, but her shoulders slumped limply. "I want to ask you for a favor."
Shen Xi remained silent.
