"Cheng Fei?!" Edward's eyes widened in horror.

"I'm sorry, I was just kidding." The boy put the pendant away and then clutched Jasmine tightly.

"You're despicable!" Edward gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of urge to pounce on the boy and fight him to the death.

"Hey, don't worry, I'll definitely release her once it's safe." Cheng Fei shook his head. "So, goodbye."

As soon as he finished speaking, the boy lightly touched the ground with his toes, and in the blink of an eye, he carried Jasmine to the rooftop dozens of meters high and disappeared.

Edward stared at the scene for a moment, then gritted his teeth and shouted, "Chase them!"

……

As Nagasaki Asuna helped Leia stumble out of the cabin, Zhou Han was frantically shouting and pulling the trigger, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!"

She removed the silencer, replaced it with full-charge bullets, and didn't even need to aim deliberately. She just roughly aligned the direction and pulled the trigger, and the smart bullets would automatically deflect their trajectory and hit the target.

A single powerful rifle bullet is enough to sever a person's limbs or leave a large hole in the torso. At first, the enemy did not realize the seriousness of the problem and launched a desperate charge. After the dust settled, the scene could be described as hell.

The petite girl's round eyes widened, showing signs of losing their luster, and she muttered to herself, "This is a game, this is a game, this is a game..."

Two demon knights descended from the sky, swords in hand, and rapidly approached Zhou Han. Zhou Han hurriedly pulled the trigger. The girl's lithe body trembled with the recoil, and the bullet struck the semi-transparent blue barrier in front of them, creating a violent ripple visible to the naked eye. The two knights' expressions changed, and they increased their speed of advance.

Several plasma spheres flew towards the two, crashing into the barrier and exploding violently, turning them into a bloody mess.

“Miss Zhou Han, don’t be afraid, I’m here!” Milian appeared behind Zhou Han with a serious expression.

As the two demon knights were instantly killed, Zhou Han felt a few drops of warm liquid splash onto her face. The girl's expression changed, and she suddenly clutched her small chest and gagged, "Ugh..."

"You two should hurry up and continue with the plan." Nagasaki Asuna helped Leia closer, then silently looked away from the horrific scene on the ground.

"Why did you save me..." Leia's hands and feet were still shackled, weakening her magical senses, and her voice was weak.

"Come with us first, we'll explain when we get to a safe place." Nagasaki Asuna helped her move forward. "Milian, you lead the way."

"Understood!" Miriam changed the battery in the weapon and walked at the front.

The sailors and demon knights of the special operations fleet no longer dared to approach the four easily, hiding behind cover to spy on them. When the four moved to the main road of the dock, they brought out the light magic particle rifles and opened fire on the four.

Bright green particle beams were fired one after another at the four people.

Miriam activated the tortoise-shell-shaped device on her back, and a semi-transparent spherical shield appeared centered on her, covered with hexagonal patterns. "Everyone, come closer to me!"

The light magic particles struck the shield, creating a shimmering ripple. Miriam glanced at the energy indicator on her wrist and exclaimed in alarm, "Hurry, I can't hold on much longer!"

366. Miriam falls.

The four men moved toward the nearby streets under increasingly fierce enemy fire. During this time, Nagasaki Asuna fired a green flare into the air.

Edward, who was riding out of the lord's manor, caught a glimpse of this scene, suddenly pulled on the reins, and the horse neighed and raised its front hooves to stop.

"My lord, what's wrong?" The adjutant, who was running alongside the demon knight, looked at him.

Edward lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then suddenly looked up and his expression changed. "There will definitely be ships to pick them up and help them escape. Go and convey my orders: all warships on standby, take off and prepare to engage the enemy!"

"Yes!" the adjutant replied, glancing at the familiar behind him. He hesitated for a moment before saying, "My lord, if you don't mind, please let my snowflake accompany you to pursue that person..."

"No need, you go quickly!" Edward's face was ashen, and as soon as he finished speaking, he spurred his horse forward.

The team carrying the magic lamps immediately split into two groups, one large and one small. The adjutant led the smaller group toward the dock.

Unbeknownst to them, a small, half-wooden, half-metal airship was quietly drifting from the smuggling docks on the edge of the continent to the skies above Yongquan Town in the dark night sky above them.

This airship has an unusual shape, with a semi-enclosed deck, a rounded bow, and a tapered stern, making it look like a teardrop. Unlike common multi-masted sailboats, this ship has a single mast with a rudder and sail standing alone in the rear section.

The stern of the ship has the nozzle of a Light Magic engine protruding out, and its shape is different from that of the current warships. Deep inside the nozzle is a ball of green light, from which specks of Light Magic particles are ejected.

In the cockpit of the airship, a cool, aloof girl with long silver hair gripped the control stick.

Ruan Jingyi stood on the ship's side outside the wheelhouse, holding binoculars and observing the town below. The town was sparsely lit, with most areas shrouded in darkness, except for the lord's mansion and the dock area where flares were being lit, which stood out.

“They fired a green signal flare,” Ruan Jingyi said, turning her head.

"Understood, begin descent, pay attention to subsequent signals." Shen Xi pulled the control lever on the side without expression.

The Light Magic Core, which provided anti-gravity and was attached to the keel of the airship, began to operate, emitting a strange hum. The pool of water soaking the Light Magic Core gradually boiled, and the airship slowly sank...

Cheng Fei, holding Jasmine hostage, moved swiftly across the streets and rooftops of Yongquan Town. With the addition of a lightness spell, he could easily leap across streets that were often more than ten meters wide.

A group of demon knights chased after him desperately, but he left them far behind.

When Cheng Fei saw the green flare rise into the sky, he immediately moved in that direction and soon spotted several girls across the street helping each other climb onto the roof.

More flares were launched, their dazzling white light illuminating the entire area.

Zhou Han spotted the boy on the rooftop in the distance, her eyes lit up, and she jumped up and waved, "Cheng Fei! Cheng Fei!"

The boy glanced in their direction but showed no intention of approaching.

"Zhou Han, we should deal with our own problems first," Nagasaki Asuna reminded her.

The enemy chased the four from the dock all the way and had now completely surrounded the building where they were, but dared not make any rash moves due to the terrain.

"Hold on, everyone. From now on, we must hold this place." Nagasaki Asuna said, pulling two signal batons from her waist, removing the rings, and the tips of the batons ignited, the red flames very bright. The girl placed the signal batons on the roof.

"They're coming up, I'm firing!" Zhou Han crouched on the edge of the roof and randomly pulled the trigger at the enemy below. With deafening gunfire, sailors trying to climb the stairs fell one after another.

"Leave it to me!" Miriam picked up her bomb gun and fired several plasma balls at the stairs, instantly blasting the fragile wooden staircase to pieces.

At that moment, two agile figures leaped from the street and flew onto the rooftop; they were clearly two demon-slaying knights.

Zhou Han and Milian simultaneously turned their guns on each other and unleashed a barrage of fire.

The smoke dissipated, but there was no expected splatter of blood and flesh.

What appeared in the spot was a massive, heavy shield as wide as a door panel. The enchanted shield was covered with a blue light film, and even the bombardment of the plasma ball could not leave a mark on its surface.

As Zhou Han and Milian stared in disbelief at the giant shield, a demon knight, wielding a longsword in one hand and a light shield in the other, emerged from behind the shield and pounced on the two.

Zhou Han fired two shots haphazardly, but the bullets were blocked by the enemy's enchanted light shield. Her assault rifle emptied its magazine with a click, and the girl cried out in a panic, "Wait, wait, let me reload!"

Miriam was too close to fire her bomb gun, so she tried to reach for her pistol, but her clumsy movements caused the holster to jam.

In the blink of an eye, the sword-wielding, shield-wielding demon knight rushed in front of them, mercilessly swinging his sword at Miriam. The enchanted longsword pierced through Miriam's armor, plunged into her abdomen, and was pulled out, blood splattering everywhere.

Miriam's eyes widened as she knelt on the ground, making painful sounds, "Ugh..."

The Demon Knight immediately turned his attention to Zhou Han. The petite girl, who was busy changing magazines, cried out in alarm and turned to flee. The Demon Knight raised his longsword and slashed at the girl's back.

A pair of hands bound by chains caught the enemy's sword.

Despite her frail state, the silver-haired, pointed-eared elf girl still couldn't hide the heroic spirit and sharpness in her eyes. She chanted softly, and bright blue runes appeared in her palm. The chains and the wrapped sword blades turned red-hot at a visible speed.

The demon knight retreated in terror, and the longsword that returned to his hand was only half intact, still dripping molten iron onto the ground.

Leia melted down the stolen blade and the shackles on her hands and feet to forge a simple, unadorned greatsword. She enchanted the greatsword, gripped the hilt tightly with both hands, caught up with the enemy, and unleashed a powerful forward slash.

In a panic, the Demon Knight raised his shield to block, but the terrifying force blew him and his shield away, sending roof tiles flying.

Another demon knight discarded his giant shield and drew his longsword to help his companion hold off the elven girl's pursuit, and the three of them were caught in a melee.

"Asuna, Asuna, what do we do?" Zhou Han raised her gun and aimed at the three of them. At such close range, the intelligent bullets couldn't distinguish friend from foe, and even with the lock-on turned off, she wasn't confident in aiming.

"Don't worry about Leia, you guys hold off the rest of the enemies, just hold on a little longer." Nagasaki Asuna used her staff to heal Miriam's wounds and then injected a vial of healing medicine into the artery in her neck. "Miriam, you should be alright now, right?"

"Miss Nagasaki! Thank goodness for you, sob sob sob..."

Miriam scrambled to her feet, trying to throw herself into the pink-haired girl's arms, but the girl had already abandoned her and turned to light a new signal flare and place it on the roof. She could only scratch her head, pick up her weapon, and unleash a furious barrage of fire downstairs, blasting the cobblestone street into craters and shattering it. "Die! Die!"

367. Cheng Fei was abandoned.

As time went on, more demon knights arrived, each fully armed and holding a shield, and one after another they jumped onto the roof.

Leia was forced back to the three of them. The elven girl was panting heavily, and cold sweat from her forehead clung to her silver hair.

"Are you injured? Don't move." Nagasaki Asuna noticed several obvious wounds on her body and quickly used her staff to treat her.

Seeing the green healing energy enveloping her, Leia was stunned for a moment.

"Asuna, I'm almost out of ammo, what am I going to do?" Zhou Han fired shots at the Demon Knight who jumped onto the roof, but it couldn't stop the enemy, who had learned to hide behind enchanted shields, from advancing.

Miriam's plasma bomb gun ran out of battery, and she began to resist in vain with her large-caliber pistol.

Asuna Nagasaki pursed her lips slightly, "Just hang in there a little longer."

Seeing this, Leia gritted her teeth and stepped forward, saying, "You all should run away."

"Huh? Why?" Nagasaki Asuna was stunned.

“We’ll only be trapped like this.” Leia gripped her greatsword tightly, her gaze hardening. “Thank you for saving me, but this is no use. I don’t want to drag you down with me. Let me cover our retreat.”

"Don't worry, actually..."

"You all need to run!"

Leia interrupted Nagasaki Asuna loudly.

The elven girl slightly bent over, the rubble beneath her feet shattering under the force, and she leaped towards the swarm of demon knights who surrounded her, like a predatory jumping spider.

"Calm down..." Nagasaki Asuna tried to stop her, but her outstretched hand stopped halfway.

Something arrived before Leia.

A crimson beam of light, as thick as a washbasin, descended from the sky, sweeping across the rooftop at incredible speed. Caught off guard, the Demon Knight was instantly vaporized by the beam of light.

In the blink of an eye, the rooftop transformed into a new inferno.

Leia landed from mid-air, staring blankly in the direction from which the stream of light had come.

A teardrop-shaped airship descended onto the roof where the four were. A cool, silver-haired girl stood on the ship's side, expressionlessly changing the battery in her staff. She then aimed at the street and fired another stream of crimson light.

The light magic cannon-level attack vaporized the sailors and demon knights on the street one by one.

The airship eventually hovered slightly above the rooftop. The aloof, silver-haired girl looked down at them, flicking her hair. "Sorry, the Light Magic Core's cooling water is insufficient, so the descent is a little slower than expected."

"Shen Xi, you've finally arrived." Nagasaki Asuna looked at her and breathed a sigh of relief.

With Leia's help, the girls easily boarded the airship.

Shen Xi ordered Ruan Jingyi in the driver's seat, "Maintain altitude and full speed ahead."

"Okay." Ruan Jingyi nodded and pushed the lever.

Zhou Han, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, was startled when she heard this. "Wait, wait, Cheng Fei is still over there!"

"It would be best if that trash died down there." Shen Xi sneered, seemingly pleased.

"Why?" Zhou Han was stunned for a moment, then quickly leaned over the gunwale and looked in a certain direction.

"There's no reason why. Our current mission is to hold off the pursuers. Acceleration will take some time." Shen Xi lowered the output of his staff, using a thinner stream of crimson light to suppress enemies trying to jump onto the ship or fire at it.

The nozzles at the stern of the airship glowed faintly, spewing out specks of light magic particles. The ship moved above the street, maintaining a height similar to that of most of the building rooftops.

Nagasaki Asuna silently fired a blue signal flare into the sky.

Cheng Fei stood on a rooftop, motionless, holding Jasmine hostage with a three-pointed dagger.

Edward and a group of demon knights confronted the boy. Although the boy did not move, they dared not act rashly because of the hostages he held. The two sides had been in this state for some time.

"Cheng Fei! I've already given you the things, what else do you want?" Edward's expression was furious.

For a frail half-elf like Jasmine, even being held hostage was a tremendous torment to her body, and Edward felt his heart aching at the thought of it.

"I told you not to rush, just wait." Cheng Fei yawned.

Just then, the blond half-elf hanging on the boy's back stretched out his small hand, "Master, it looks like a blue star fell down over there."

“Blue stars…” Cheng Fei looked in the direction she was pointing, his expression changed, “Damn it, why didn’t you say so earlier!”

"Little Dark didn't mean it, Master, please don't punish Little Dark!" Dark Shadow cried out in fright.

Cheng Fei pushed the jasmine in his hand toward Edward, saying, "Keep your promise, your wife is back with you, and goodbye forever!"

Caught off guard, Edward instinctively lunged forward and caught the petite, silver-haired half-elf.

As soon as Cheng Fei activated Zero, he turned and ran, disappearing from the spot in the blink of an eye.
