"Ok."

Shen Xi turned and went back to her bedroom.

Cheng Fei breathed a sigh of relief.

The bedroom door opened a crack, revealing half of the girl's extremely indifferent face.

"Teacher Shen, is there anything else you need?" The boy stiffened again.

"You're trash." The girl said coldly, looking down on him with disdain, and slowly, bit by bit, closed the door.

The door lock clicked, and the piercing gaze disappeared.

"..." Cheng Fei waited for a moment, and only left when he saw that she had no intention of showing herself again.

……

The three of them walked out of the teleportation station.

"Teacher Shen, you haven't spoken to me since you came online. Are you planning not to talk to me at all today? If so, please tell me." The boy said earnestly.

"Sorry, but I just feel there's nothing to talk about with someone as fickle as you, Cheng Feiyu," the silver-haired girl sneered.

"Does 'being fickle' mean wanting to move to the place of an attractive person of the opposite sex? I don't think so."

"Enough with the excuses. The agreement was for me to supervise you, but now you're going out with this vixen to avoid me. I wonder what will happen in the future. You might as well go out and fool around with her seven days a week." Shen Xi stared at the air, gritting her teeth as she walked forward.

Asuna Nagasaki followed behind the two with her hands behind her back, appearing dazed and completely out of it since logging on.

"Not at all, I'll be with you at least one day..." the boy whispered to Shen Xi as they walked side by side.

"What did you say?" The girl turned her head, revealing a murderous glare.

"What I meant was that yesterday was an accident, and I absolutely did not mean to avoid you. Please forgive me, Your Highness." The boy said sincerely.

"Ha, it's always the best-sounding thing to say." The girl squinted her eyes.

326. The three people who went to return the book

"Okay, I admit I was avoiding you a little, but it was for your sake, and I hope you can understand." The boy said seriously.

"What do you mean?" Shen Xi frowned at him.

“You said before that you didn’t want any strange noises to disturb your sleep, but the soundproofing of the house is limited, and Nana’s high notes are quite powerful. Last time, she had to cover her mouth, which was very difficult for her, so I took her out this time. I can’t keep making her suffer, can I?” Cheng Fei spread his hands seriously.

Asuna Nagasaki kept her head down, a barely perceptible flush appearing behind her ears.

As soon as she finished speaking, Shen Xi frowned, fell silent, gritted her teeth and took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. "Even so, this is not a reason for you to break the agreement. You made those big promises back then, and now you have to figure out how to deal with this problem yourself."

The boy thought seriously, "Teacher Shen, I can't very well hire a construction team to install professional soundproofing on the walls, can I? But I can do that if I move to a new house in the future."

"This has nothing to do with me. Please understand that I've already tolerated you to the fullest extent possible." The girl turned her face away, squinting and staring intently into the air.

"How about this, I'll give you a gift another day." The boy suddenly clenched his fist and slapped his palm.

"What gift?" the girl asked suspiciously.

"You'll see when the time comes, don't worry."

"Ha, hopefully it's not a poor delaying tactic."

"Don't mention it, my little darling. When have I ever really lied to you?"

"Enough, I don't want to hear sweet talk."

"Well, so there's still martial law here?" Cheng Fei looked around.

As they spoke, the three entered Yongquan Town. At the gate, there were soldiers in two different uniforms acting as guards. If they weren't mistaken, one was from the local area, and the other was from the special operations fleet.

Everyone entering or leaving the town was checked, including all kinds of carriages.

Therefore, Shen Xi pulled down her hood as she passed through, and the guard glanced at her but ignored her as if it were nothing unusual.

"Of course we should impose martial law if we haven't caught the person." After walking a little further away, Shen Xi put his hood back on.

"So, what's the plan for today, Your Majesty?" Cheng Fei asked her.

"Come with me to the Corner of Merchants first." The girl gazed ahead.

"A trading company? What for?"

"Selling things." Shen Xi was carrying a bundle of weapons.

Upon closer inspection, the boy discovered they were several mediocre third-tier staffs, likely bought wholesale from who-knows-where.

"Teacher Shen, how much do you think these can sell for?" the boy asked cautiously.

"Sell it however much you can, even if it's just for one gold coin."

"What if we can't even sell it for a single gold coin?"

"Why should I?" Shen Xi asked, displeased.

"Personally, I feel that the fourth-tier staff last time was incredibly powerful, and it only cost five gold coins including the battery."

“I don’t think so. Are you going to question me?” Shen Xi raised her chin.

"I wouldn't dare," Cheng Fei said, bowing his head.

Half an hour later, Shen Xi stormed out of the business, squinting as she walked quickly, gritting her teeth, "As expected, no merchant is without guile. These kinds of people all deserve to die."

"Teacher Shen, his offer of five silver coins is not bad, why don't you sell it?" Cheng Fei asked in confusion.

The bundle of weapons was still held in the girl's arms.

"I will never sell my things for a pittance again." Shen Xi walked away quickly.

"It's not really of any use anyway, so it's not bad to let him get a little something for five silver coins, right?" the boy said, shrugging.

"Ha, that's why I'm different from you, Cheng Feiyu, who likes to live a life of ignominy. I'd rather be useless than let these damned unscrupulous merchants benefit."

"Well, I really admire this spirit of 'better to die than live in dishonor.' You really are my little darling." The boy admired her cold little face.

"Disgusting, hold this for me." Shen Xi shoved the things into Cheng Fei's arms.

"So where is Your Highness going again?" the boy asked, watching her legs, encased in white boots, move swiftly.

"Come with me to return the book." Shen Xi took out the book "Light Magic Dynamics" that she had borrowed last time from her bag.

"You finished reading so quickly?" the boy asked, glancing sideways.

"Fast? Sorry, it's probably been a week since you, Cheng Feiyu, who's always out fooling around and doesn't even know about club activities," Shen Xi sneered.

"Teacher Shen, I've already told you I've been very busy this week, and you seem resentful. Is that just my imagination?"

"Don't misunderstand, what do I have to complain about? Anyway, it's none of my business what you, Cheng Feiyu, are doing outside. Even if today is the last day of the week and you don't come back for the meeting, I don't care. It's all expected." The girl spoke quickly and in a cold tone.

"Sweetie, it's okay to say frankly that you're unhappy because we haven't seen each other for a week. If you miss me, just tell me and I'll come see you." The boy said seriously.

"Shut up, stop spouting your ridiculous fantasies. If you really think you're wrong, explain to me clearly what you've been doing this week at tonight's meeting." The silver-haired girl gritted her teeth and kicked him.

"I understand now, it was my fault." The boy nodded.

"Heh, if you don't think you've done anything wrong, you don't have to explain." Shen Xi quickened her pace.

"Of course I have to explain to my little darling."

"Shut up, I really feel like throwing up."

"Ok."

As they spoke, the three arrived at the Light Magic Workshop, a quaint three-story building located on the edge of town.

A carriage was parked outside the workshop gate, piled high with luggage, as if it were about to embark on a long journey; no one was in sight.

Shen Xi pushed open the door and entered, followed by Cheng Fei and Nagasaki Asuna.

The workshop was quiet, filled with the smell of gunpowder and turpentine, and metal parts were piled up haphazardly.

Nagasaki Asuna was still lost in thought, so she found a place to stand with her hands behind her back and her legs together.

Cheng Fei examined the strangely shaped tools and weapons hanging on the wall and noticed that each one was inlaid with white crystals of varying sizes. "So-called Light Magic Technology is a technology that utilizes Light Magic Crystals, a type of magical energy, right?"

"Forget the nonsense." Shen Xi looked behind the counter expressionlessly, as if she wanted to borrow a book again.

“That’s right. Without Light Magic Crystals, there is no Light Magic Technology. This is a sentence that every apprentice must remember.” An old voice came from the stairs leading to the second floor.

The old wooden floor creaked as an old man with disheveled silver hair stepped down, scrutinizing the three uninvited guests with his cloudy eyes, followed by a servant carrying a suitcase.

"Little guy, I thought you'd taken my Light Magic Dynamics and never come back." The old man looked at Shen Xi, seemingly surprised.

"I just borrowed it. Now that I've finished reading it, I'm returning it to you." Shen Xi placed the book on the box in front of her expressionlessly and stepped back next to Cheng Fei.

"It doesn't really matter whether you return it or not, as long as you don't use it to prop up table legs." The old man smiled, sizing up the boy wearing the black longsword. "So this is your knight?"

“…Yes.” Shen Xi frowned slightly and nodded.

"I'm so sorry, sir. My familiar has a rather awkward personality. It wanted to borrow the book but was too embarrassed to ask, so it just took it and ran off. I'm returning it to you now." Cheng Fei put his arm around Shen Xi's shoulder in a serious tone.

The girl remained motionless, casting a murderous glare at him.

327. Runaway Machinery in the Scrap Heap

"No need for that. There aren't many people in the Empire willing to learn light magic, and half-elves are even rarer. Consider the book a gift to you." The old man shook his head and walked out of the workshop, pausing at the door. "Oh, right, give them that letter."

The quick-witted servant immediately took out a gold-embossed envelope and handed it to Shen Xi.

"If you're interested in Light Magic technology, remember to show this letter to any Light Magic Technology Association you visit in the future." The old man said without turning his head, "I'm going on a trip. You can use the workshop as you like. Oh, by the way, there's another little one who came uninvited in the attic. Be careful not to scare her."

As soon as he finished speaking, the old man and his servant boarded the carriage under the watchful eyes of the young boy and girl, and slowly drove away.

Once the carriage disappeared around the street corner, Cheng Fei turned his head. "I have a feeling he's not an ordinary person. Teacher Shen, you actually triggered an event behind my back. What's going on?"

"Shut up, I didn't steal anything, and I didn't know either." Shen Xi picked up the gold-embossed envelope and frowned as she examined it.

"The feeling of not wanting to admit it is also cute."

"Shut up."

"Why don't we open it and take a look?" Cheng Fei asked, looking at the letter.

"No, it's sealed with wax." The girl checked it and shook her head.

“I have a feeling this letter was prepared in advance for you; he knew you would come back.” The boy rubbed his chin.

“I never said I was coming back, and I’ve only been here once before.” The girl frowned.

"Where have you been reading these past few days?"

"Sometimes we're on the first level of the hillside in the corridor, sometimes we're here gathering intelligence as we walk and observe."

"Is this the hillside where we had our first date?" The boy raised an eyebrow.

"Here we go again. I told you before that no one went on a date with you that time." Shen Xi glared at him.

"Okay, then the only explanation is that you were caught reading here. Next time you're a thief, remember not to bring stolen goods to the crime scene, little cutie."

"If I tell you, you're the one stealing, I'm the one borrowing." Shen Xi gritted her teeth and kicked him.

"Um, what happened just now?" Nagasaki Asuna walked up behind the two of them, tilting her head with a puzzled look.

"Have you snapped out of it, Nana?" Cheng Fei looked at her. "Anyway, Shen Xi triggered the event, and now we can use this workshop freely."

"Huh? That's amazing." Nagasaki Asuna blinked.

"Let's see what treasures we have first." Cheng Fei said without any ceremony, taking down a strange-looking weapon that resembled a rifle from the wall and fiddling with it.

Suddenly, with a whoosh, a beam of green particles shot out from the muzzle, hitting the wooden wall and leaving a charred hole about the thickness of a finger.

"It really is a laser gun?" the boy exclaimed in surprise.

"This is a Light Magic Particle Rifle, which fires excited-state Light Magic Crystal Powder," Shen Xi said, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

"Speaking of which, we should still be careful. It's fine if you kill me, but it would be bad if you caused a fire." Nagasaki Asuna, who had just narrowly escaped being shot, looked at Cheng Fei.

“That’s right, what if the old man comes back and finds his house gone?” The boy put the weapon back.
