Zhang Zhiwei's words startled Lu Jin.

On the other end of the phone, the old master continued to impart his secrets to getting rich:

"I visited the site of the former Sanyi Gate when I was young. Such a large complex of ancient buildings, built on such a natural barrier, is a miracle in itself. It is a ready-made historical site."

"Find someone to renovate the building, remembering to preserve its original appearance. Then build a smooth stone staircase along the cliff to ascend the mountain. Next, build a steep glass walkway, modeled after Mount Hua, and erect a cable car that goes straight to the top. Finally, build a highway, and construct several large hotels at the foot of the mountain..."

"Once the hardware is set up, you can get the company staff to help promote it, create some hype, and sell the image of a site where immortals cultivated Taoism. Wouldn't tourists come in droves?"

"When the time comes, you'll make a fortune just from collecting entrance fees and cable car fees. With this place under your wing, your disciples won't have to worry about anything and can just focus on their cultivation."

These are the words of the old Celestial Master.

Lu Jin was stunned.

Is this even possible?

After hanging up the phone, Lu Jin thought about it carefully and found it increasingly feasible.

By funding the renovations themselves, at least the ancestral temple of the Sanyi Sect will not be damaged.

Moreover, once it's turned into a tourist attraction, we can also enshrine the ancestral tablets of our masters, senior brothers, and fellow disciples, allowing them to enjoy the incense offerings from the world.

From now on, the disciples will have a stable source of income and won't have to worry about making a living.

Although turning a sect that practiced monastic discipline into a tourist attraction might seem like a betrayal of its founders, it's still better than losing its lineage.

Moreover, Zhang Zhiwei, that old scoundrel, has turned the Celestial Master's Mansion into a 5A-level scenic spot, yet he hasn't shown any remorse towards the Celestial Masters of the Mansion throughout history.

Zhang Zhiwei isn't afraid!

What is Lu Jin afraid of?

With an old friend setting an example, Lu Jin finally made up her mind.

He wants to fully develop the former site of the Sanyi Gate.

Although the current Sanyi Sect only has three people at most: him, Li Chang'an, and Lu Lin, plus a reserve disciple who is still chopping wood and carrying water at the foot of the mountain.

But at least the incense has been burned again.

Life is getting better and better.

Lu Jin is a decisive person. She immediately called to consult professionals about the steps required to transform Sanyi Gate into a scenic area.

The other party quickly replied with a list: The first step is to confirm the ownership and cultural relic protection level of the land. If it is a provincial-level or higher cultural relic protection unit, any construction must be reported to the province for approval.

The second step is to commission a qualified organization to conduct an on-site survey, submit a repair design plan, and pass expert review.

The third step is to prepare an overall plan for the scenic area and submit it for approval by multiple departments, including the Development and Reform Commission, the Planning Commission, the Land and Resources Bureau, the Environmental Protection Bureau, the Forestry Bureau, and the Fire Department. If the area involves scenic spots and historical sites, it must also be submitted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

The fourth step is to apply for project approval and obtain a construction permit.

The entire process, from project initiation to opening, would take several years even without taking any detours.

After learning about the process, Lu Jin began to use her connections to make this happen.

In the past, he would directly delegate such mundane tasks as obtaining approvals to his juniors.

But since it concerned the Trinity, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

Moreover, given his status and influence as one of the Ten Elders, his personal involvement in the negotiations would ensure a smooth process and the fastest possible approval.

Although the Lu family is an extraordinary family, they also have considerable secular businesses.

Feng Zhenghao's Tianxiahui has a market value of around 300 billion, which is not much less than that of the Lu family.

The local leaders naturally welcomed the sudden investment of such a large amount of capital in developing barren mountains.

This will not only bring huge investments, but also solve employment problems, increase tax revenue, and enhance the city's reputation.

However, during the process of making contact, Lu Jin received a message.

A wealthy businessman from Fujian is also interested in developing the land near Sanyimen. He has already obtained some approvals and is about to lead a team to conduct an on-site inspection.

Lu Jin put down the phone and slammed his hand on the table, making the teacup lid jump.

"Seriously, will this ever end?"

This isn't the first time.

In recent years, many developers have set their sights on the land near Sanyi Gate and have wanted to develop it.

But every time someone came, Lu Jin would draw a few Five Warriors Talismans and make some noise at the construction site, scaring the developers who believed in feng shui into thinking the place was haunted, and in the end they had no choice but to give up.

Over the years, he has persuaded many people to leave, but he never expected that someone would still be eyeing this land.

"The ancestral land of our sect must not be desecrated by anyone."

Lu Jin was about to set off to teach them a lesson.

But when he looked at the calendar, he realized that he had already made plans to meet with several high-ranking provincial leaders in the next few days to finalize the development project.

You can't just cancel an appointment with someone like that, especially when someone else is already eyeing that piece of land.

After a moment's thought, he decided to send Li Chang'an and Lu Lin to the former site of the Sanyi Gate to resolve the issue.

It just so happens that Li Chang'an and Lu Lin have never been to the old site of the Sanyi Sect since they became disciples.

As a formal disciple of the Sanyi Sect, it is indeed time to return to the Ancestral Hall to acknowledge the sect's origins.

Lu Jin immediately got up to go find Li Chang'an.

At this moment, Li Chang'an was reading a book, specifically the "Linji Record".

In this Buddhist scripture, he actually found the origin of the phrase "If a god blocks my way, I will kill him; if a Buddha blocks my way, I will kill him."

It turns out that this statement did not come from the mouth of a heretic.

The first person to say this was none other than the founder of one of the five schools of Zen Buddhism, the famous Linji Zen Master.

The original words in the book are: "The monk here has no other way but to go inward and outward, and kill whatever you encounter. Kill the Buddha, kill the patriarch, kill the Arhat, kill your parents, kill your relatives, and only then can you be liberated, free from attachment to things, and achieve complete freedom."

This passage is filled with killing—killing Buddhas, killing ancestors, killing parents, killing relatives—giving the reader a sense of utter depravity.

But Li Chang'an understood that Linji Zen Master's words were not about becoming a murderer, but about a state of mind.

If you want to attain enlightenment and become a Buddha, you must not be misled by delusions.

Whether psychological, physiological, social, or natural...

Anyone who tries to confuse, control, influence, or restrain you, causing you to do things or act against your true feelings, is deluded and must be eliminated.

This is the true meaning of "kill anyone you encounter, kill gods if you meet them, kill Buddhas if you meet them."

Li Chang'an suddenly realized that in this matter, the Quanxing heretics and the Zen sect were actually the same.

The Quanxing demons are, after all, cultivators, and their actions are in accordance with the principles of cultivation. They cannot be regarded as a group of madmen who only indulge in lust.

The line between madness and genius is often very thin.

They simply deviated from the correct path in practicing spiritual cultivation.

Zen Buddhism should simply be about eliminating delusions and killing them from within the mind.

It's like being in a relationship; you're dead to me, I don't care about you anymore.

The term "全性" (Quanxing) likely refers to physical killing, meaning there is no divorce, only widowhood.

The former is high-end, the latter is simple.

"No wonder people say that whitewashing makes one weaker by three points, while turning evil makes one ten times stronger."

Li Chang'an looked at the sentence in the book again: "Kill the Buddha when you meet him, kill the patriarch when you meet him, kill the Arhat when you meet him."

What is a high-ranking monk?!

This is a truly eminent monk!

While others are still chanting Amitabha Buddha's name and praying for blessings.

He wanted to kill Amitabha Buddha and establish himself as the Buddha.

No wonder he was able to become a saint and an ancestor!

A soldier who doesn't want to be a general isn't a good soldier, and a monk who doesn't want to become a Buddha isn't a good monk.

Li Chang'an carefully examined himself and realized that he had been placing too much importance on the Triple Rebirth Technique recently.

"I've been being too pragmatic lately, which isn't good. I should learn to mentally eliminate that 'desire'!"

Who are you going to kill?

Lu Jin came to find Li Chang'an and happened to overhear the second half of the sentence.

"Grandpa, why do you always like to interrupt people with half-finished sentences?" Li Chang'an said, somewhat speechless.

"I didn't hear the first half of what you said either. You still haven't said who you're going to kill?"

"It's mine!"

"Huh?" Lu Jin was taken aback, noticing the book in Li Chang'an's hand, and said, "Kill delusions?"

Li Chang'an nodded: "I've read some of Linji's sayings."

Lu Jin said, "The meaning in this book is actually similar to what Lao Fang said back then about killing the consciousness, only it is more thorough."

“Many theories of the three religions are common!” Li Chang’an asked, “Grandpa, did you need something from me?”

Chapter 108 Lu Jin's Protective Nature

"There are some things!"

Lu Jin recounted the story of the former site of the Sanyi Gate and the developer to Li Chang'an.

After listening, Li Chang'an said, "Grandpa, do you want me to drive those developers away?"

"Yes."

Lu Jin nodded and said, "Most of these developers are only interested in profit. In order to make money, they don't care about the surrounding natural environment, feng shui, and ancient architectural style. If they really take over, the ancestral temple of the Sanyi Sect will only be ruined by them."

Li Chang'an nodded: "That's true. Turning a perfectly good place for cultivation into a commercial venue is really not a good idea. You must have done this more than once, Grandpa, right?"

Lu Jin admitted it readily: "I've done it many times, but after a while, someone will always come back to it."

"Now that I think about it, this isn't a long-term solution. I can hold on as long as I'm alive, but what about after I die?"

"That place will be taken away by someone else sooner or later. You can only be a thief for a thousand days, but you can't guard against thieves for a thousand days!"

"So what do you plan to do?" Li Chang'an asked.

“I plan to fund the development of that place myself and turn it into a tourist attraction,” Lu Jin said.

"Turn it into a tourist attraction?" Li Chang'an looked at Lu Jin with some surprise.

He couldn't help but think to himself, "Isn't this just turning a cultivation place into a commercial venue?"

But then Li Chang'an realized that in the original story, Lu Jin didn't seem to have done this; the old site of the Sanyi Gate had been abandoned deep in the mountains.

"Grandpa, why do you suddenly want to develop that place into a tourist attraction?" Li Chang'an asked, puzzled.

There was no need to hide this matter, so Lu Jin immediately told Li Chang'an about Zhang Zhiwei's suggestions on the phone, as well as her own considerations regarding the sect's livelihood and inheritance.

Although she had made up her mind, Lu Jin was still a little uneasy about making this decision.

After speaking, Lu Jin looked at Li Chang'an:

"Chang'an, what do you think?"

"I think this is a great idea."

Li Chang'an said, "Once it's turned into a formal tourist attraction, it's equivalent to having official endorsement."

"Our Sanyi Sect will no longer be a secret martial arts sect, but will become a protected cultural symbol."

"From now on, for the next thousand years, the architecture and style of Trinity Gate will be fixed there in this form, and no one can erase it."

"Moreover, our own development will not disrupt the original layout of the site, making it a perfect solution."

Li Chang'an's words struck a chord with Lu Jin, who nodded repeatedly.

“That’s right, that’s what I thought too, but now someone is competing with us for the development rights and is about to send people to conduct an on-site inspection. I have an appointment with provincial leaders and can’t get away, so…”

“I understand,” Li Chang’an said. “Give me the address and I’ll go there right away and ruin their inspection team’s trip.”

“I’ll have Lu Lin go with you,” Lu Jin said.
