Mystery: The Witch of Desire

Azik stopped, gazing at the sparse, dim lights in the distant town, and once again fell into a long silence.
"Perhaps the 'parents' I've been searching for are my past self..."
He sighed, implicitly acknowledging that Klein's reasoning was very convincing.
"So you don't need to do anything, just wait patiently and your memory will gradually return."
Klein offered his conclusion, reassuring the other party.
Azik unconsciously waved his cane, and then his whole body seemed to transform into a marble statue.
After a long silence, he replied with a profound look in his eyes:
"Perhaps, perhaps, I will only fully regain my memories when my old life comes to an end. I don't want to wait that long. I want ample time to figure out and break free from this fate. Therefore, I must actively seek out the past, stimulate myself little by little, and complete the awakening you speculated about ahead of time. Waiting will only make me repeat the previous cycle."
Klein nodded silently. Perhaps this was a better approach.
After a while, Mr. Azik said goodbye and left. Klein then regretted that he should have invited him to stay for dinner.
He looked down at the 'wriggling hunger' in his hand and immediately felt a bit troubled.
The glove, which had trembled at Azik's presence, began to stir after he left, revealing menacing fangs in the palm.
Feeding a soul every day is really tricky...
After a moment of contemplation, Klein made a decision: to return it to his lover.
He had three reasons:
First, the hunger sequence of the creeping creature is at a very high level. With its sequence 8 level, it is difficult to use it normally and may even bring danger to itself.
Secondly, the ever-present hunger requires a living soul to feed each day, which is difficult to achieve in Tingen, but seems easy for a lover at sea, since the five seas are teeming with pirates and vicious criminals. Of course, it might be less convenient on a passenger ship...
Third, and most importantly, this magical item was originally Miss Lover's trophy, so returning it to her is like returning it to its rightful owner. Perhaps we can even exchange it for some benefits from her.
For the reasons above, Klein did not hesitate to enter the gray fog and communicate with the red star representing his lover:
"Miss, I have something urgent to discuss with you. Could you please come to Tingen?"
He threw those words at the red star. A moment later, he was a little worried that his lover wouldn't be able to arrive soon. If it was delayed until tomorrow, he would have to feed her writhing hunger for her soul himself.
So Klein added another sentence:
"I have acquired the rotting hunger."
……
Backlund, Hillston District.
Livre was having dinner with Fors and Hugh, discussing the recent events in Backlund.
She was particularly interested in the rumors about the 'evil tree spirit,' a strange tale that was so widespread in Backlund that Fors even used it as material in her novel.
Miss Justice's propaganda is truly impressive... This also indirectly shows that those nobles control the direction of public opinion. What they care about is becoming trending news.
However, precisely because of this, the official extraordinary individuals should already be keeping an eye on that tree spirit. I wonder if they'll find Mr. Waffle through this?
After some thought, Livre decided to return to Mr. Waffle's house in the Joewood district after dinner and take a look from afar. With her current enhanced strength, she shouldn't be any weaker than that evil tree spirit who liked to have dream encounters.
Just then, Livre suddenly heard the Fool's illusory voice in her ears.
She quickly made an excuse to enter the bathroom, where she heard Klein's 'oracle':
"Miss, I have something urgent to discuss with you. Could you please come to Tingen?"
Klein needs to speak with me?
Well, whatever, I might as well go to Tingen and see Emily while I'm there.
Livre plans to buy a train ticket for tomorrow morning, from Backlund to Tingen, so she can arrive that same day.
Then, she heard Klein's additional words:
"I have acquired the rotting hunger."
What?! A writhing hunger?
How did Klein manage that? Did he know that high-sequence powerhouse? Or was he being controlled by that high-sequence powerhouse?
Almost instantly, Livre raised the sapphire ring on her finger and anchored it to the brass mirror on Klein's bedroom desk, the same mirror she had seen the last time she visited Klein's bedroom.
In the mirror world, Livre observed her surroundings and saw Klein sitting at his desk, holding a human-skin-like glove, with a worried look on his face.
There was no high-sequence powerhouse around, so it seemed that Klein was not being threatened.
Just as Liviel was about to step out of the mirror, her witch instincts stirred up some wicked thoughts in her mind.
She transformed into Qilingus's appearance and appeared beside Klein, speaking in a gruff male voice:
"Did you really think I was dead?"
Chapter 189 Punishing Klein
"Did you really think I was dead?"
Upon catching a glimpse of the tall man with his distinctive broad chin and ancient knight's topknot, Klein's blood instantly froze, and a chill ran through his heart:
Ziringus!
Without any hesitation, he jumped up from the chair, contorted his body into an exaggerated shape, and rushed out of the bedroom.
Livre was somewhat surprised: This guy runs way too fast!
She quickly concealed herself and chased after him. Only when she saw that Klein's brother and sister were not there did she reveal herself and say in a low voice:
"Klein, it's me!"
Startled, Klein turned around and stared in astonishment at the mocking Livre, a look of shame and indignation on his face.
"Miss, you've gone too far. Don't make jokes like that again!"
"Also, please don't use any strange honorifics to address me in the future!"
Livre said, looking a little aggrieved:
"I'm sorry, it was my fault, I apologize to you."
Her alluring eyes sparkled, revealing a captivating charm that made Klein's cheeks flush. He couldn't help but regret whether he had been too harsh in his tone.
Immediately, he realized he was under the influence of the witch's charm and quickly reminded himself: Calm down, calm down, she might have been a man in her past life, maybe even bigger and more muscular than me, don't be fooled by her appearance...
After calming himself down, Klein tried to sound nonchalant:
"Miss Lover, it seems you have indeed been promoted; you are more like a witch than before."
Livre smiled and pointed to Klein's bedroom:
"If you don't want your sister to misunderstand, let's go inside and talk."
Klein didn't say anything and went back to his bedroom in a huff.
He took out the glove and showed it to Livre:
"Let's confirm whether this glove is indeed 'Wriggling Hunger'."
Livre glanced at it only once, and a smile immediately spread across her face:
“Yes, I personally ripped it off Qilingus’s corpse, but…”
She changed the subject, her brows furrowing slightly:
"How did you get it? I was clearly forced to hand it over to a high-ranking powerful being."
Startled by Livre, Klein, determined to get his revenge, said meaningfully:
“That person is my true benefactor.”
"What!?"
Livre's lips parted slightly, her eyes filled with surprise.
"That high-sequence powerhouse is someone like you, a Sequence 8 follower? How is that possible!"
Klein gave a mysterious smile:
"Do you really think that Mr. Fool, who single-handedly created the Tarot Club, only has Sequence 8?"
Livre swallowed hard, pondered for a moment, and then her fingertips flickered with spider silk, which wrapped around Klein's body.
Klein was taken aback, feeling the sticky spider silk, and asked somewhat nervously:
"Hey, what are you doing?"
A playful look appeared in Livre's eyes:
"I just wanted to test whether the unfathomable Mr. Fool was bluffing or truly as powerful as a god?"
Klein visibly panicked, frantically tearing at the increasingly tight threads:
"Aren't you afraid of angering me?"
"I'm not afraid," Livre said with amusement. "We're both transmigrators. Even if you really are a god, what can you do to me?"
Seeing Livre's confident expression, Klein instantly regretted his actions. His tone softened, and he pleaded:
"Miss Lover, I was wrong. I shouldn't have bluffed. I really am only Sequence 8. Please let me go."
Livre not only did not let go of him, but instead flicked her fingertip, transmitting the power of pleasure along the spider silk.
She shook her head, feigning regret.
"I want to let you go, but looking at your thin, weak, and innocent appearance, I can't help but want to tease you a little. Perhaps, this is the evil of a witch?"
Klein felt the power of a witch from the bottom of his heart; his body began to feel hot, and his mind began to conjure up strange fantasies.
If this continues, he will soon be shamefully disgraced.
Left with no other option, Klein had to resort to emotional appeals:
"I kindly returned your 'wriggling hunger' to you, and this is how you treat me? Do you have any conscience at all?!"
"Oh, so you're going to give me back my 'wriggling hunger'?"
Livre's eyes lit up, and she quickly let go of Klein.
"You should have said you were going to give it back to me. I thought you were going to keep it for yourself or trade it with me."
Livre smiled and took the 'wriggling hunger' from his hands, teasing him with great pleasure:
"Thank you for your grace, Mr. Fool. Your servant is deeply grateful."
Klein quickly calmed himself down, trying to get out of the awkward situation, while feeling incredibly frustrated: I really was thinking of trading something with you...
However, he wasn't the type to suffer a loss for nothing, and immediately began to bargain:
“I’ve been so good to you, but you repay kindness with enmity. No, you have to make it up to me.”
Livr looked at him with an innocent expression:
"How could I have repaid kindness with enmity? I just wanted you to fully experience the joy and pleasure."
Miss, your pleasure is so intense it could make someone die of ecstasy, so maybe you should just forget about it...
Klein, still shaken, muttered to himself, and continued:
“I don’t care, you have to give me another chance to provide assistance free of charge within my capabilities.”
Livre said with a bit of a laugh:
"I can agree to your request, but I remember you've already had one such opportunity. I must remind you that my free assistance is for personal use only and cannot be transferred or sold. Even if you accumulate several such opportunities, they won't be of much use."
Klein felt somewhat relieved when he heard his lover agree: at least he hadn't been tricked for nothing.
He thought for a moment, then carefully said:
"When do you plan to leave Tingen? I may need your help soon."
Livre shrugged:
"I will be leaving soon."
Klein was somewhat disappointed upon hearing this:
"Can't we stay a little longer? We're going to arrest that cultist named Lanius soon, and I was thinking of asking you to come along, just in case anything goes wrong."
Livr rubbed her temples, feeling somewhat bewildered:
"You're using the opportunity to order me around like this for such trivial matters?"
