Mystery: The Witch of Desire

Livre slowly opened her eyes and saw Klein's anxious face.
"Miss, you're finally awake!"
Livre took a few slow breaths and tentatively moved her body, using Klein's help to sit up against the bed.
She rubbed her aching temples, but then touched something cold and icy on her fingers.
She glanced down and saw a sapphire ring on her right ring finger, like a wedding ring.
This is the gift Chick gave me...
For a moment, Livre had an urge to take it off and throw it away, but she restrained herself.
Regardless of Chik'an's intentions, what He sent must have been useful.
She looked at Klein and asked softly:
"How long have I been in a coma?"
Klein solemnly held up two fingers:
Two days.
Livre froze, somewhat incredulous:
"So long?"
“Yes.” Klein nodded helplessly. “During this time, I haven’t dared to let my brother and sister into my room. They both suspect that I’m sick.”
Livr smiled wryly:
"I'm sorry, it must have been so hard for you..."
Before she could finish speaking, she sensed something was wrong and reached out to touch her cheek.
The actor's disguise has been removed!
I am now in my true form as Livre.
Klein guessed what Livre was thinking and said in a joking tone:
"Excuse me, I saw your face. Are you going to be silenced?"
Livr smiled weakly:
"If you can get me some food, I'll consider sparing your life."
Klein chuckled, stood up, and gave a slight, almost formal bow.
"It's my pleasure to serve you, miss."
He then turned and walked out of the room, and soon returned with an oat bread and a bowl of hot beet soup.
"Soak the bread in the soup until it softens before eating. You haven't eaten for days, so eat slowly."
As he spoke, he tore the bread into small pieces while keeping an eye on the starving Livre to prevent her from wolfing it down and getting an upset stomach.
Livre ate in small bites, her hunger gradually subsiding, and she couldn't help but sigh:
"At times like this, it would be great to have a bowl of winter melon and pork rib soup made by my mother. It's a pity that people in this world don't know how to make soup, and the livestock they raise are not castrated, so when they are stewed, they have a strong gamey smell."
Klein was equally saddened:
"Yes, I miss the roast duck, roast goose, braised pork, poached chicken, sweet and sour pork ribs from my hometown so much... I can't eat them anymore since I came into this world."
The two fellow countrymen exchanged sentiments for a while, and Livre had almost finished eating. Klein cleared away the empty plates, then, remembering something, said with a hint of reproach:
"Seeing your true appearance, I realized that the woman who came to communicate with me through spirits before was also you, wasn't she? Although there are some differences in appearance, you still couldn't escape my eyes. Why are you so interested in me? Did you find out that I was a time traveler back then?"
Livre was a little embarrassed, and made up an excuse:
"I was just trying to find clues in the Antigonus family notebook, who would have thought you would be a time traveler!"
Klein scratched his head:
"You've got your eye on that notebook too... Oh, right, let's not talk about the notebook for now."
His expression turned serious.
"You also stopped the witch cult's attack on the passenger ship before, so I won't hide this from you. That instigator named Triss has caused another tragedy. He incited the passengers on the passenger ship Clover to kill each other, resulting in heavy casualties."
“Now, he’s back in Tingen, wanting to perform some kind of curse ritual on the survivors of the Clover. We’re planning to capture him. Do you have any suggestions, or do you have any other intelligence on Tris?”
Livre thought for a moment and then reminded him:
"I've already shared everything I know about Tris at the Tarot meeting, so there's nothing more to add. However, I must remind you that the witch cult in Tingen City is very powerful. They used to have an organization in Tingen. I don't know if that organization is still active, but there is at least one mid-rank witch in Tingen City."
"A mid-sequence witch?" Klein was taken aback. "Do you know her identity?"
Livre nodded and said slowly:
"She is Baron Hoy's widow, the most famous socialite in Tingen, Mrs. Sharon, a Sequence 6 witch. It's hard to say that Triss has no connection with her, or that he was simply acting on her orders."
"Mrs. Sharon? Sequence 6?" Klein was even more surprised. "Are you sure?"
Livre's tone was certain:
“I’m sure. I’ve fought her before. She is indeed a Sequence 6 witch. There’s no mistake about that.”
After saying that, she asked, slightly unsure of what to do:
"You didn't report my presence to the Night Watchers, did you? I'm your subordinate, Mr. Fool."
Klein gave a wry smile:
"Of course, I'm practically the 'cult leader' of the Tarot Society myself, how could I expose your identity? Although I have principles as a Night Watchman, I still know what I should and shouldn't say."
"Your principles are quite flexible."
Livre smiled and offered a compliment.
"This is the 'unity of knowledge and action' in the great food-loving nation."
Klein responded calmly.
The two exchanged a knowing smile and established a united front.
After a moment's thought, Livre said seriously:
“Take me with you on the operation to capture Tris; I can provide assistance.”
Klein was taken aback, somewhat surprised:
"why?"
Livr's expression turned cold:
“I owe the Night Watcher a favor, and I also have a score to settle with those witches.”
Klein couldn't help but swallow hard; this was the first time his fellow countryman had ever shown such a terrifying expression.
Livre let out a soft breath, her smile returning to normal, and said softly:
“There’s one more thing, Klein. Don’t tell anyone about Emily, not even her. Remember that. If she finds out, it won’t be good for her.”
Upon hearing this, Klein realized that something must have happened between the two, but he didn't want to speculate, so he nodded in agreement.
“I will keep it a secret. Hmm... You should recover first. I will let you know when the specific time for the operation is decided. Uh... My brother and sister are not home right now. If you are able to move around, you can leave now. It will be inconvenient when they come back tonight.”
"Why are you trying to kick me out? I'm still a patient!"
Livre scolded playfully, but she had already gotten out of bed and was getting ready to leave.
Klein scratched his head a little embarrassedly. He thought that Miss Lover must have been a quirky girl before she transmigrated. As a keyboard warrior and straight man for more than 20 years, he had no way to deal with this kind of girl.
Klein escorted Livre to the door, and as they parted, something suddenly occurred to him, and he asked:
“Um, Miss Lover, it’s not that I’m invading your privacy, but you should at least tell me which sequence of Extraordinary you are, right? That way, we can cooperate better in our operations.”
Chapter 149 Close Encounters with Emily
After a moment's thought, Livre figured she wouldn't be able to hide it from Klein anyway, so she simply told him:
"Like Mrs. Sharon, I am also a Sequence 6 witch."
"what?!"
Klein watched Livre's departing figure, the shock still lingering in his mind.
Is she a witch?
The witch who tastes really good?
Wait, she's clearly a witch, so why does she seem to have a grudge against the witch cult...?
……
The three-story building at No. 46 University Street.
This was once the home where Livre and Emily lived together.
Two years later, Emily still lives here and has never left.
Liviel walked slowly to the door of the apartment at the deepest part of the second floor, concealed herself, and quietly slipped inside.
Today happens to be Emily's day off, and she is currently standing in front of the kitchen stove, busy cooking.
Liviel gazed at that familiar yet unfamiliar back, her heart pounding, and a few hot tears uncontrollably slid down her cheeks, almost breaking her invisibility.
After two years of growth and maturity, Emily has shed her youthful naiveté and gained a more gentle and mature charm. Her appearance has become increasingly radiant and beautiful, and she exudes an intellectual and elegant aura.
However, her grasp of the amount of ingredients seemed somewhat imprecise, which made Liviel frown slightly: Why did she make so much? It's enough for three people.
Suddenly, Emily stopped what she was doing and looked to the side with some surprise, where Livre was standing.
Livre's heart skipped a beat: Had Emily discovered my invisibility? That shouldn't be the case; she's just a hunter with relatively weak spiritual abilities…
Emily glanced at where Livre was a few times, shook her head with a puzzled look, then turned back to continue her work.
Livre breathed a sigh of relief, but then she suddenly felt a pang of regret. If only Emily had discovered her then…
Based on rational considerations and for Emily's safety, she could not reveal to Emily that she was Levi, as that would bring unimaginable disaster to Emily.
But Livre longed to tell Emily about all the pain and grievances she had endured over the years, and to nestle in her arms and pour out her sorrow of separation and longing.
She even entertained the absurd idea of recognizing Emily and then using psychic abilities to erase her memories.
After a long while, she suppressed her impulse and hypocritically told herself: This is good too. Just watching her quietly is already a rare kind of happiness.
After a while, Emily finished preparing the meal and brought it to the outdoor dining table.
She made coriander soup, which her family often ate, and oat bread.
She first served herself a bowl of soup, then served herself two more bowls, placing them on either side of her.
"Oops, I made too much again. Oh well, I'll save it for next time..."
She glanced at the empty seats on either side of her, gave a wry smile, and scooped a spoonful of soup into her mouth.
Just then, she heard what sounded like a strange noise coming from the window.
Emily put down her spoon, walked to the windowsill, and looked at the still slightly swaying window with a puzzled expression:
"Strange, there's no wind today..."
On the street, Livre's figure disappeared into the shadows, leaving only a few drops of tears scattered in the sunlight.
……
……
Lily Hotel.
"Fors, you should at least eat something. Miss Monroe is stronger than all of us; she'll be fine."
Hugh served a small bowl of stewed lamb with peas and placed it in front of Fors, looking at her increasingly thin face with some concern.
Ever since Livre left, she has been frowning. She was alright a couple of days ago and could still eat, but now she has no appetite.
“Hugh, I had a dream last night. I dreamt that Miss Marilyn was... Even though she's stronger than us, her enemies are stronger too. I'm still so worried about her..."
Fors didn't even glance at the fragrant lamb; her beautiful eyes were filled with melancholy.
Xiu sighed, offering words of comfort with a mixture of heartache and sympathy:
"It's precisely because you're worried about her that you need to eat well and stay in good shape, so that if anything happens, we can rush to her rescue immediately, don't you agree?"
Upon hearing this, Fors looked at the food and nodded slightly.
