Actually, I didn't initially plan to write this book. My first idea was to write a fantasy farming novel, and to write about a young, loli-like master who could turn back the clock.

The idea for this book actually came about a long time ago, even longer than the previous two. But at the time, the idea was simple: a retired hero, after defeating the Demon King, goes into seclusion and finds the Demon King's orphan, a little princess of the demon race, thus beginning a heartwarming, healing, and slightly melodramatic daily life story between an older man and a young girl.

This kind of story is so common it's become a cliché, so it's been sitting in my inspiration dump. What I've been preparing is the fantasy/xia (fantasy/martial arts) story mentioned above.

Until one day, while browsing through books, I came across an incredibly outrageous novel. After reading the first two chapters, I was stunned. How could Daenerys Targaryen have such a freakish character?

I really want to let loose and write a book too.

And so, I had an inspiration, dug out this book blank that I had long forgotten, made a few adjustments, and it became what you see here.

While writing, I truly rediscovered the ease and joy I felt when I first started writing, and I wrote five or six chapters in a single day.

Some people asked if there was an outline. No, I just write whatever comes to mind in Laochuan's dream.

Just kidding. Actually, the outline for the future is quite substantial. There are individual stories of each of the female leads who have appeared so far, as well as some side stories, daily life vignettes, and extra chapters. There's so much I want to write, and I don't have to worry about running out of material before I reach a million words.

As for the female leads, including Xiao Guang in the latest chapter, almost all of them have already appeared. There might be one or two left, but we'll talk about that later.

(One of the female leads will be a werewolf-like Little Red Riding Hood type.)

As for the newly introduced Hikari, it's because various AI girl models have been very popular lately, so I wanted to write something similar, a cute anime-style AI. Some of her settings will be very interesting, so everyone can look forward to it.

Some people have also asked why it's all daily life content and not the main storyline.

Of the three successful books Lao Chuan has written so far, the only one with consistently rising sales is the slice-of-life story without a main plot (which is now banned). The other two flopped because Lao Chuan tried to write some classic shonen (mainstream) stories.

So, this is my comfort zone. This time, I shouldn't think about anything else. I should just focus on writing "Little Tadpoles Looking for Their Mother."
